    Freaking Out...!!!-__-

Hey there...I was also banded by Wilkenfeld with the Lapband on April 3rd. You have lost a lot of weight so far....congratulations! Have you had a fill yet?

    Question

Yes you will be under general anesthesia and be out like a light.
  3. I am 5' and my pre-op appointment i was 195. I had my surgery on April 3rd and I now weigh 176. My goal weight is 130. I hope to be at my goal by Christmas if not before....crossing my fingers!
  4. I have played with the same pound for the past 2 weeks...frustrating. But I am eating right, not hungry and just started exercising. I get about 400-500 calories a day. I just keep hoping that something will give and the weight will start moving.
  5. Allison - I live in Porter, TX...which is north of Houston. I work in The Woodlands. Auntieelle...that is wonderful...I will message you now. Thanks!
  6. Hey ladies - does anyone have size 14/16 office clothes (e.g. blouses, suits, skirts, dresses...etc). Also - if anyone needs it...I have size 20/22 office clothes. Not charging anything...just want it to go to those who need it Thanks!
  7. I love reading posts like these...it gives me hope.

    Help!

Try the heating pad...it will get better I promise. When I raised my arm in the air...it seemed to help as well. I know sounds weird...but whatever works...right?

    Help!

Dr. Wilkenfeld is located on 242 and hwy 45 in Conroe. I go to him and they say they only charge $75 for a fill under fluoroscopy. They may offer the same thing to those who did not get surgery through them as well. It's work a phone call. Good Luck!

    Pb2

HEB sells it too...I haven't tried it yet...but thought about giving it a try.
  11. I had my well woman visit and they found a lump in my right breast. They want me to go in and get a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound done on it. I have scheduled that the week that I am off for the surgery....now my parents who were a little negative about the surgery to begin with are using this to fuel their fire. They think I should wait until after my tests to make sure it isn't something serious before surgery. I personally think it may just be a cyst, since breast cancer doesn't run in my family, and that I don't want to delay getting the surgery. Plus if it is something more serious I am sure that me getting in good shape and eating healthy will be something the doc will require anyway. I know I am rambling on and on...but needed to vent...

    22 Pounds Down!

You are doing awesome! Keep us posted....I love reading success stories...very motivating.
  13. No - you are not. I am too. I talked to my husband last night as I had to get it off my chest as well. We really don't know all the details...but I can't help but feel that if they had removed it the first time she was in the hospital then none of this would have happened. I know she said they didn't have a bariatric doctor or something at the hospital...but they should have found one. I can't believe they discharged her. I am not someone that is an advocate of taking people to court...but I think I would in this case...
  14. My boss is hosting a "fancy dinner" next Wednesday. I will only be 3 weeks post op and still restricted to 1/4 cup of food at a time. He insisted that I go and my husband is going as well. It is a five course dinner. How in the heck can I pace myself on 5 courses...eat a bite a plate? Plus isn't sushi made with rice and seaweed??? That can't be band friendly! I can't remember the last time I fretted about going to dinner....this will be my first public venture after the band. Any suggestions to get through this without drawing too much attention?

    Sushi - Holy Cow!

I thought I would update you ladies on how dinner went last night. It went awesome thanks to everyone's advice. I took a nibble at each course and I even ate some raw fish...I think it was the yellow tail nihiri roll thing. I nibbled on the rice clump underneath it but it was spicy and since i can't drink and eat....I didn't dare try anymore of it. I felt like I cheated because I had a spoon of this weird ice cream stuff in a weird shell thing and a spoon of creme brule. I was incredibly stuffed...it was hard to tell how much I actually ate...but I would estimate it at around 1/4 cup all together. I do have to say that learning to use chop sticks can really make you slow down and eat little bites....lol I was also incredibly proud of my husband for trying some new things...however he ultimately ordered off the menu and got some Kobe beef. which was so tender he cut with his fork. I am not a beef person...but once I get to be able to have beef and pork again...I would like to try that. I heard that Kobe beef was imported from Japan and the cows actually get daily massages...lol

    Biggest Concern

My shoulder pain was yucky at first but with a heating pad it was just fine. My incisions were like the others...stitched on the inside and derma bond on the outside....no steri strips or bandages.

    Eat All Day Long!

You can do it!!!!! I recently bought Body Fortress shake mix that is a whopping 270 calories...even pre-op it kept me full and has 52 grams of protein!!! Plus I think the chocolate flavor is pretty yummy.

    Bmi Too High...

You may want to try a liquid diet. I knowI Iost 12 pounds in one week when I was on liquids!
  22. Have you had H.pylori before? If so - you will always test positive on your blood result even if you don't have it any longer. Are you pre-op?
