I have just completed the 5th month of the 6 month supervised diet (as req by my insurance)... Problem is, I GAINED weight this month! I am up only 3 pounds from where I started, but now I'm worried that I wont be approved next month! Did anyone else gain weight during the supervised diet, and were u still approved? Please help!

I am trying to motivate myself by imagining what my life will look like 3 months out from surgery. New clothes, better confidence, kids seeing changes in their mommy, hubby seeing a difference in my weight...A world in which I am not consumed by FoOD. I simply can't wait. I am now in the 5 month of the 6 month supervised diet requirement. I can not wait to get the process going! I'm hoping that they will schedule my surgery next month once I complete my last 6 month requirement. I'm so excited!

Glad you're here! I'm also where u are in this whole process! Just waiting to get the call from the surgery center to schedule all of my lab tests, psych eval etc. Luckily, Bluegrass Bariatrics does all the testing in one day. I already know I'll have to complete the 6 months supervised diet. Hope I can be patient...which I think is one of the biggest factors in this surgery- PATIENCE! Ugh.. Lol

Hello all! I am new to this site, and am so blessed to see so many people who are going through/have gone through the lap band process. I'm in the very beginning stages- just submitted paper work, and completed online seminar. Just waiting for the next step of getting the call to schedule all lab work, etc. This may take several weeks. I have to be patient *cough cough*...lol. I talked to my insurance rep today (Humana) , and they require 6 cons. months of supervised diet. The 6 months could have been within the last 3 years... Shame on me for not going to all of my Weight Watcher meetings!! UGH!

Thanks guys! Just wondering where you all go to do the 6 month "diet"? Do you go to your primary doctor? That would probably be the easiest I suppose... Insurance lady told me that Weight Watchers could be considered as well.
