So what do other people do to reduice swelling, like in a joint?? =( Part of my knee pain i know is from the swelling.

Anti-Inflammatory Question!
Cynesra replied to Cynesra's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh its cause my doctor feels they have a chance at causing ulcers because of the band, thats what they told me when i called today that is..... i think my doctor is one of the over cautious type. I'm just trying hard to follow strict instructions because i've only had the band for 2 weeks and 2 days at this point >.< -
I'm pretty sure everyone's instructions are different depending on their doctor, however i agree, sounds like to little. My doctor wants me on 60-70 grams of protean a day once i can eat again, 60 a day till then. Also says around 1000-1200 cal a day(once i can eat that solid food that is). But i def would look into the idea you might not be eating enough to keep your body out of that starvation mode. Good Luck!

I was suposed to have a p.e. class for college, and managed to mess up my knee tuesday (going to doctors this week to see how bad), the sad part of this, is i get to start mushi food next week so was also going to start hitting the gym, and now i can barely walk! Then got depressed about the situation because said P.E. class that i injured myself in was horseback. I've ridden horses on and off all my life, then to realize that i had let myself get so heavy i can't even pull myself into a western saddle. =*(. Granted it was a very big and tall horse (would not have even tried had the horse not been big enough that he would have been able to hold said wait comfortably!) and i'm a short person, but that never had stopped me before. Very heart breaking moment for me. I keep telling myself, this is why i got the lapband to take care of this issue... but still was a let down. Sorry just wanted to vent , about bad luck were people might understand! Thanks for reading =)

Thanks for understanding guys! And for the pool , no, however i'm a member of the local YMCA, but still 4 weeks till i can swim yet *sighs* As for mounting block, that probly would have worked, but they only had one of those tiny 8 inch ones, and this boy prob was 17 h tall. So i just set one of my goals, that by the end of the summer i will be able to get into a saddle. Its something to try for anyway! As for the knee.... I have an MRI next week now *sighs* So i'm hoping for the best, my poor right knee has had 4 surgerys so i was rather hoping my left knee could remain whole and good!

Katy Perry LMFAO Cascada Shakira Selena Gomez Jennifer Lopez Rihanna Lonely Island All bands i use for a playlist.... not stuff i'd listen to regularly but it's all dance style music with a good quick and up beat. I also listen to Japanese pop and bollywood music for their upbeat sounds that make it easier to keep up a good pace on a cardio workout , for me at least!

Did U Tell Or Not? If Not..what Was Your Story?
Cynesra replied to iriegirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I pretty much told anyone who asked. And really have had nothing but support, even from college class mates (whom i had to tell do to a group project and me missing classes), I've been heavy all my life so being able to have physicall proof that i'm making an effort to get this weigh thing that has pestered me since childhood under control. But like someone else who menteioned it, chose to keep it off facebook. -
I Know this type of post has probably been posted before (many times!) But probably a few pages back lol! I just had my surgery the 28th, and was doing fine, thinking this 3-week liquid diet would be no problem because i wasnt' hungry at all. Now my stomach has healed and starting to feel hungry and i still have 2 weeks - 2 days before i can even have mushies! Sugestions or ideas for someone who is sooo not a cook and can't go to the store to get fresh fruits for smoothies every few days....? So need help with ideas of what can "fit through a straw"... My pre-op diet was easy since we got to cheat with small servings of dairy and sugar free Jello, neither of which i can have for the time being. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the replys guys, it gave me some things to try! I'm one week out and now 2 weeks to go on this liquid diet thing then to the mushi stuff!

Hello everyone! I just got my lapband Feb 28th. I'm so excited! Though if i can get passed this liquid diet stage I'll be happier! The surgery went well, and i'm ready to put the hard work into loosing this weight. I lost 16lbs on the 10 day pre-op diet i was on, so now got to get through these next 5-6 weeks till my first fill.

How Long Was Your Hospital Stay?
Cynesra replied to Rebecca Cain Salpacka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to stay over night. Normally she would let someone my age and with minamal heath issues go home the same day but since i lived 3 hours away she required me to stay over night. Wich was rather interesting because i had my service dog with me. But all in all i'm glad i did stay over night because the pain medication and extra help that night was nice, though the bed wasn't that comfortable. -
Banded On The 28Th, So Much Pain
Cynesra replied to FoxxieBrown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow seems like alot of us got baneded on the 28th! lol , I did as well. After the surgery, my left shoulder was what hurt the most, it had me in tears. Not where they cut me open. Now i'm fine unless i try to use my tummy muscles to much.... and trust me i do that far to often! Just relax, and hopefully the doc gave you some pain meds! If they did take those as perscribed till the pain gets better. Just nice and easy and know you'll be feeling better soon!
