Congrat so to all!! Everyone is doing great.. I'm at week 34 as of yesterday and I've lost 120 pds from my surgery date.. A a total of 134pds from Jan.. I am 4 pds from my goal wt. I'm 1 pd less then my first goal wt and 6 pds down from what my dr's goal wt is.. I've gotten into my first pair fo size 4 jeans, but think I will probably stay mostly at a 6 but those 4's are real nice, lol!! I haven't cheated once, but plan on in Nov sinces it's my birthday, but only that day.. Wishing everyone much success!! -

Today is a big day for me.. I met my dr, goal wt for me, I'm so excited!! My dr. goal wt for me was 150 and I hit that today.. Wednesday will be my 32 wk band anniversary so in 8 months I've lost 100.. I've lost a totally for 114 from my heaviest and that was January.. It's been such a hard journey, but one I'm so thankful for.. I've learned so much about me, about health, and in some ways about life.. It's been amazing!! I still have about 10 more pounds to go to reach my goal wt, but I'm getting there and my biggest accomplishment, at least I think it is, I haven't cheated once, not 1 time.. I've stayed on track, stayed on my new life journey's without making any wrong choices.. I'm more proud of that then losing the wt.. I have decided that my birthday is coming up in Nov and I just might go treat myself to 1 cupcake or 1 piece of something, but that will be it.. I will not be doing anything else for the rest of the year.. I've told family and hubby, NO!! treats for Thanksgiving or Christmas so if they want anything they have to make it themselves or buy it, lol!! I don't care if they have it here at the house, but all sweets will be going home with them.. I already have a menu for the holiday's and it's all Proteins, fruit, and veggies, nothing else so I'm ready.. Just wanted to share my news!! Thanks everyone for all your posts on this site. I've learned a lot and continue too learn..

Thanks so much everyone!! It's not been easy, but I do believe we have to change our way of thinking with food or it's never going to work.. WLS is not a quick fix to wt loss and it takes hard hard hard work to get to where you want to go.. Everyone is different so I try not to talk about what works for me, as it might not work for you but I have learned that you can't eat the same foods you did before the surgery just smaller sizes and think the wt will come off. Plus if you still eat the same things but smaller sizes what's going to stop you from eating a little bit more each time?? ajtexas0 - don't be afraid of holiday's. You will do fine..

Glad everyone is doing well.. I also haven't posted for awhile.. I was on vacation to meet my new grandson, which was awesome! I lost 7 pounds while I was gone, so that was good.. I'm down now between 156 and 157,the scales keep changing between those two numbers daily, but still real happy where I am.. My dr. goal for me was 150, so I don't have to far to go for him, but have a feeling it's going to take awhile, since the scales have been the same for almost 3 weeks now. My goal for myself is 140, so 16 pounds to go for me. I'm taking things real slow, still watching and writing down everything I eat, I exercise 5 day's a week now instead of 6 and keep my calories the same been 600 and 800 . I purchased my first size 8 jeans over the weekend, one fits fine, the other a little tight, but I'm happy.. Just like yellowrose88 I danced all over the fitting room and talked about it for 2 days, to hubby... Real happy where I am and where I'm going!! -
I love potatoes but as a diabetic I can't eat them.. They are high in Carbs 36.6 grams of carbs and 2 grams of sugar, which isn't much sugar, but high carbs raise my blood sugars.. They also are 161 calories for 1 med potato which if you are counting calories, is high.. So I avoid them!! Bread and potatoes have always been my fav foods to eat but haven't had either one since january and with proper diet and excercise I have come off 2 diabetic meds, I'm only on 1 now and that's been lowered and hope to come off next month..

Hi Everyone!! I haven't been on for awhile went on vacation for 3 weeks. I stuck with my diet the whole time, didn't cheat once, so proud of myself.. I have lost a total of 107.5 from my heaviest I've lost 93.5 since my surgery on 2/08/12 I lost 9 pounds while on vacation, that's a huge surprise to me.. The total not that I lost wt.. I only ate salads while awile, actually I lived off of wendy's berry almond chicken salad the small size with no dressing.. I also lived off of quizno's small harvest chicken salad.. We would go out to eat at other places and I would always order the basic salad with chicken and oil and vinegar dressing.. Or I would order salmon and broc.. I had a great time and just didn't focus on food. I went for 30 min walks every morning and sight seeing made me walk as well. Now, I am getting house in order now we are back and will get back to doing my normal diet and excercise.. I hope all are well!

Well, I have 1.5 pounds to go and I've made the 100 pounds lost so far.. I have 15.5 to go to meet the wt the dr. set for me, but 25.5 to go for the wt I set for myself.. Not quite there, but almost.. Headed on vacation tomorrow for 3 weeks, scared to death I will not lose, but gain, but I will do everything in my power to stay on track. I haven't gone off track yet, just worried about excercise because we are doing a road trip across the states so will be in the car most of the time.. wish me luck!!

How Long Do You Work Out?
hedder14 commented on goal_will_be_met's blog entry in goal_will_be_met's Blog
I work out 6 days a week an hour one day and an hour and half the next. -
P.S when my first referral expired my WLS center did the extension for me. but that's usually a 1 time deal..
-
I have tricare prime and I pay $12.00 for my fills.. Your referral from surgery is good for 5 months, ( usually ) after that you usually go to your primary care dr. and have him do another referral and that's good for 5 months too. Tricare is really good on the referrals.. I haven't done an xray yet, but if the dr. orders one tricare will ok it.. Tests are usually never denied..

I've been feeling and doing great since my surgery and had my bloodwork done for my annual check up, now my thyroid has come back off.. It's now showing that I have hyperthyroidism???? I was wondering if wt loss surgery could cause this?? I had my thryoid checked in March and all was fine, that was several weeks after my surgery. I had a complete panel done a few weeks ago and it showed thyoid being off.. I had them repeated last week and the dr. called and said they are still off... So I now have to have a scan of my thyroid.. It's just odd that all of a sudden it's showing something now after I've had all my other bloodworks being fine..( which I have had my blood drawn for yrs every 3 months and it always came back fine ) Any ideas???/

How Many Multivitamins Do You Take Per Day?
hedder14 replied to Meduseld's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My dr. told me to take Centrum silver 1 per day and 1000mg of calicum citrate per day.. I've had to cut back on the calicum citrate because my labs show my calicum levels are a bit high, so I'm down to 750 mg per day.. -
