Any bandsters in Austin? ( I am new :D )
inkeduppinup posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey everyone! I am a new bandster... literally. I was banded on 1/23/2007. I have already lost close to 30lbs and still dropping. I am currently living in Oklahoma City but will be moving to Austin, Tx at the end of next month. If anyone can recommend a surgeon to continue my follow-ups with, I would be more than appreciative. Also, is anyone in the Austin area or know of any support groups there? Thanks! Brittany -

sewing the band into the stomach is standard as far as i know. that doesn't mean there is not a possibility of slippage, it is just less likely. oh, and welcome, from one okie to another -
i have done well with whole grain tortillas. they even make some that are made for weight loss plans. they are really tasty, but be careful, they still get stuck if you take too big of a bite.

I was diagnosed with PCOS last August. I knew it ran in my family and it has always been somewhat of an underlying fear that I would have it as well. I had all the symptoms but just never had a diagnosis. I had been thinking about the band before i was diagnosed, but that is what put me in full gear to have it done. I knew I had to do something and this was the most logical for what I needed. I have not regretted it so far. I think this is the best decision I have made.

Am I cheating??

i started on string cheese after my second week. i did two weeks of straight liquids and post surgery (dr's orders) and my 3rd week is when i switched to mushy foods. i got the light string cheese and it worked well as a snack. i got to a point where the thought of blended soups made me want to vomit. -
