I was gifted my Lap Band in January of 2010 from my friend Sharon Goodfriend. She had enjoyed the benefits of a Gastric Bypass and her dieing wish was for me to be free from the hobbles of Morbid Obesity. Not quite 5'2" and at 238# my BMI was 40.1 I was a hostage in my own body. I had gotten up to a size 24 in pants. I was on blood pressure medicine. It seemed that the active part of my life was over.
My initial weight lose was 40# and everything in my body was loose. I was prone to injury and spent as much time recovering and exercising. My mind and body want to go but until I develop the durability well you know the story. With the longevity of improved habits I dropped another 25#. I have gotten down to a size 12 in pants.
I still have 30# to go and participation is key to continuing progress.
