First All Day Trip Away From Home.
judych replied to judych's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
it sounds delicious. i live in country australia so i dont have the access to these wonderful foods that you just mentioned. were the carrots tinned or did you cook them before you left?? i just love cheeses. can you tell me?? what is boars head turkey?? a certain type of deli meat ?? it sounds great. im still on liquids at the moment. im finding though that i can introduce lots of different things into my broth.. and really loving it. after friday this week i can start introducing a bit more subtance into my soups. im about to go lunch. that will consist of... tinned soup for base. pumpkin maybe?/ some cold potato, greek yoghurt, bonox, a raw tomato home grown, some garlic powder, a little beef consomme., a little lemon juice and some pepper.also water.( get right consistancy i blend it all well, then put in a pot to ''cook'' for about 5 minutes. there will be enough there for at least two meals. Whats more i feel satisfied. if there isnt quite enough flavour i will introduce some med salsa and perhaps some tomato concentrate. heaps of flavour.. yummm -
from what i read here it seems that the band is very sensitive.. to time of day... even time of month, air travel, even road travel where there is elevation ... so stress would definately be a factor id say... what do the others here think?? ..a bit more here. why not just go back onto liquids for a day or so??

oh dear. some family and friends can be a real stumbling block. this is why i havent shared with my family what has happened. If you take enough time and really read thoroughly through all the sections of this forum you will see for yourself that its not as bad as your family try to tell you. They are ill informed. you need to be informed. thats the only way you are goign to have peace of mind about what you are about to do. like i said, read up on here. spend a lot of time doing it. its well worth the effort, believe me. by the way, im 10 days post op... im 66, and the transformation in my body has been just marvellous. ive not been happier in many many years. pain free, lost 10.34% of my bodyweight. Ive been nearly crippled with arthritis. headed for a wheelchair. now??.... a week out , im pain free in all the areas that were such a threat to me. Dont let other people dictate to you what you should do with your life. Like i said , the more informed you are the more determined you will be about making a decision and doing it.

Please Help. Stomach Cramps And Gas Pains
judych replied to JJLaw08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if this continues you need to try and follow up with it again with a dr. i had pretty much the same experience but not as painful as you. its gone now for the most part but still comes back periodically . i put it down to the bowel trying to re adjust to the new diet. i used to get bad ''griping'' pains many years ago.. the pain i had/have is the same but not as bad. just a thought. -

Probably Common Sense...but My 1St Fill Experience
judych replied to ev1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thank you so much for your post. sharing some of these issues has been a real eye opener for me as well. i see myself in what you are saying, even though im only just post banded. Nevertheless, this last 10 days has forced me to re evaluate how i perceive myself , what weaknesses im going to have to confront, and how to adapt with a new mind set. after all, there really is no going back. who in their right mind would want to have this surgery to just continue on the same old lifestyle?? Im going to have to deal with lack of self worth simply because i was so overweight. im also going to be careful how i deal with compliments. ive had a lot , just in the last few days. i dont want to place all my self confidence on how i look either. there is way more to me than that. i am grateful now that i have a support system in place, within my body, that is there to help me all the time. Im heeding the traps that you fell into. thanks for sharing that. im going to remember these. forewarned is forearmed they say. lol. .. well, its true. Im so glad that you have a supportive family with you in all this. its so important. i have my husband supporting me.. well, as much as he knows how to. lol. He is trying , thats for sure. i see my specialist today. you have just reminded me how important it is to start off being completely honest about my eating behaviour, right from the beginning. this is my first visit. bless you Jen75 judy -
woohooo...!! congrats. !! i can hardly wait for that to be me. and its possible now.. thats the great part.

Head Hunger Vs. Real Hunger
judych replied to amo32112's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amo32112..... more protein?? maybe just a little more vege perhaps to your Soups??i was desperately hungry for three days, im 9 days out, but im not hungry anymore. i found that the more flavour i put into my soups (not necessarily more bulk ) the more i was satisfied. i dont have a sweet tooth but crave savoury. interesting how the extra taste took care of my hunger. i dont feel im missing out anymore. -
Need Your Advice To Figure This Out...
judych replied to Maddy1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
mandagay.... would you believe im 9 days out and im not feeling hungry anymore?? im having broths with potato, things like that, still very runny. i was getting a funny sort of pain in my stomach before, i guess it was shrinking but no more... im so grateful for that , i didnt know what to do to fix it. lol. im cooking hot meals for hubby and he is eating really well. tonight it was chicken curry.. there was one swift second where i would have liked to have a little piece of cooked chicken to chew on ... but it soon passed. thank goodness for that. lol. -
Cazzy... good on you... keep looking forward and dont look back. you are young and have an exciting future ahead of you, where your health and weight will be a real asset to you. you CAN do it. (( hugs ))) judy

Keep reading this forum .. you will learn a wealth of information here that will help you no end. Good luck with it all, and please dont get discouraged. there are 75 members here who will get alongside you and help you with your issues. -
larch... i agree... you are never too old to want to feel sexy for your man, take it from me. i would much rather have some faint small scars on my belly than have mountains of belly rolls and bad health to boot. amen to that.
