...good luck with it all... you are so lucky really to be able to go onto foods like that so early. wow.. i was clear liquids the first week, thicker liquids the second, a little thicker again for the third, and fourth, and now introducing some more meats. still finely cut or minced though and not dry . i cant have cottage cheese yet and im over a month out. by the sounds of it you wont have to run the gauntlet of ''lapband hell' like some of us have... and thats great. i hope it all goes really well. Im sure it will.

Anyone Else On Medicine To Stop Gallstones From Forming?
judych replied to NWgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
..and this is a big problem. i hear you. did the pharmacist give you any other ideas on how you can get around this?? after all, these meds are important... they are what was prescribed by your dr so you do need to take them. not only that but there must be a lot of us here who are in the same boat? Take me for instance... o.k.. my b/p meds can be dissolved or even cut in half ..ive been doing that. but, i want to take supps . like CoQ10... both my hubbie and myself have been on this supp for years now. it comes in capsule form. i can take them without restriction.. but what happens after my first fill?? Does anyone here have any solutions to this problem?? im sure there are a lot of us who take meds that cant be ''opened''... as in capsules. -

great that you are having fish scorpiolady... make sure its moist. i had some tinned salmon this morning... two spoonfuls, teaspoons, and nearly vomited it back up again. im nearly five weeks post op. it was the closest to vomiting i ever want to come to. i even felt like passing out . it was horrible.

hi everyone. im just over four weeks out post op. for the first couple of weeks i felt really good.. but the last week or two ive been really tired come lunchtime. i have had to lay down and have a nap of an afternoon and im not getting much done . im getting concerned about it all. i shouldnt be feeling this way. i did consider... is it hypoglycemia?? but, thinking it through i dont think it is. ive been on low carb diets in years gone by and when ive had hypoglycemia ive felt dizzy with it as well i dont have that this time. so, its just the intense tiredness. Im taking Barley green for extra nutrition. im just doubling up on the dosage of that this afternoon and will keep that up...Today ive eaten over my quota im sure and i havent gotten to tea yet. Also, im feeling hungry a lot of the time. for lunch i ended up having 2 eggs mixed in with baked Beans and a little chicken broth. i still felt like i hadnt had enough. my first fill is in two weeks exactly ..... has anyone got any suggestions for me?? all input gratefully received.. hugs judych

congratulations ... you have thought it all out and timed it well. You will succeed with this. Im so glad that your family are behind you in it all, and that you have found a group thats so supportive.. meeting with the group should help you a lot with some of the emotional problems with eating that you may have. groups are wonderful therapy. -

Debora... i can assure you, im not doing all the right things with my diet yet... im post op four weeks. i havent had a fill yet and my appetite is getting to be a worry for me. the colder weather is setting in here and my appetite always spikes now . i know that there is emotional hunger as well as physical hunger. im not sure just how much of what im experiencing right now but whatever it is, its giving me problems. i cant wait for my first fill. i wonder what i will be like after that? without the fill i do experience some restriction, no doubt about that. ive come close to being stuck a few times but managed to get out of it. I havent lost any weight for a week now. i havent gained either but i may start to if i cant stop eating more than im supposed to. i am supposed to have 100 cals per day.

ihad my first visit with the nutritionalist the other day and mentioned it and she had never heard of it. i believe it though. i come from a fishing family that goes right back. we know more about the weather and its vagarities than most people do.

im tired by lunchtime and wondering if im over doing the protein and not enough carbs myself. perhaps hypoglycaemic ?

More Than Half Of Weight Gained Back
judych replied to IWannaBeSkinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
definately you need to see a nutritionalist. it sounds like you need some accountability... we all do at some time. dont despair, you can get back on the right track . dont let your past interfere with your future. -
Day 12 Post Opp. An Hungry
judych replied to GurlieGirl0723's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i dont think you are going to fail but be careful with what you are doing right now. By all means have some Protein but it has to be mushie right now if thats what you were told to have. im borderline right now between mushies and more solid food but even now i chew about fifty times if i have a small piece of meat or fish in my mouth. At least ive learned to do that.. i dont like having any fibrous pieces in my esophagus... try and add some beef broth or chicken broth to your meat... let it soak for a while? i know that chicken can be dry, certain parts of it are. i had some chicken pieces last night... it was marinated . i had about three small pieces, chewed fifty times each mouthful, loved it. i was getting very hungry for meat. im glad my first four weeks is up. i have my first fill in another two weeks. -
How Is Hair Loss Post Op?
judych replied to lovex5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ive not had any hair loss at all... i did read somewhere that hair loss can be a problem... why is that i wonder?? Is it due to more nutrition?? -
a good idea...i found that the shoulder pain was an issue. it still is, and im noticing, a month post op that the shoulder pain comes when im hungry and when im full... i im thinking that its going to be with me for good. i guess in a way it will re inforce my discipline, which wont hurt. lol. i found the actual discomfort from surgery was minimal, and i got over that quickly. hunger is a biggie for me right now... im going onto more solid mushies now but its winter here and i always get really hungry this time of year. i agree about the carbs being addictive and causing more hunger. No doubt about that. over EAster was a problem for me. I had some pains in my gut as well after surgery, i guess it was the change in diet. That can rear up again but it doesnt last. its important to have something gentle in the way of laxatives handy even before you have surgery. A major diet change often does upset the system a bit. im just starting to come right and its been a month. Also, ive found that emotional hunger is a biggie for me. Thats something im going to have to fight for quite a while until my brain is rewired.. lol Thats about it with me. Ohh.... on the positive side, fantastic weight loss the first two weeks, most of it fluid. the change in my facial appearance and the absence of pain in my feet and lower legs has been just wonderful. it more than stacks up against the other things.
