Good luck!! One of the best things I have purchased is a Magic Bullet. It is quick and easy for the shakes. My favorite is made with using the Any Whey protien powder (it's tasteless) and making shakes with frozen strawberries and frozen bananas. I whish I had discovered these sooner.....Best of luck to you!

I am almost 3 years out and sad to say I have not been very successful. I have lost about 30 pounds total. I have had little to no after care. The place I was banded is not that supportive, but the real issue is mine. My eating is restricted, but I have not exercised like I should and eat sweets more often than I should. You definitely have to do the work even with the band. Would I do it again? Yes, I have lost some weight and if not for the Band, I surely would weigh much more than I do now as I am sure I would have gained.....

Well, I have been struggling with what to eat, I tend to PB a lot.....need to eat slower I have learned. B-Strawberry protien shake, some sausage... L-onion soup (frozen from Costco-it's great 170 cal) S-tuna salad, 2 crackers D-a little bit of everything; refried beans, chicken, sour cream, and chicken salad that I am making for lunch tomorrow... snack - 2 cookies yum, but bad!!

I don't understand "getting stuck"
2angels replied to midwestchickie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When something is stuck, I can tell from the pain and discomfort. I usually wait a few minutes and if it doesn't resolve, I go to the bathroom and throw up. It's more like spitting the food out and sometimes I put my finger down my throat and the offending food comes up easily with almost no effort at all. Not sure what PB stands for.....I may be missing something there..... I can't eat frech fries at all in two years since my band. They are sure to get stuck. No breads at all either for me-they are killer. I can do crackers or crunchy things. meats often get stuck if I don't chew well enough. If you feel really stuck, I find that a little Water will help to wash it back UP (but definitely not down)..... -
It is great to read words of encouragement and also to hear of others' frustrations. I was banded almost 2 years ago and have only lost about 40 pounds. I eat sugar and don't exercise. I have been so successful in other areas of my life and am embarrassed that I have not been able to succeed with my weight loss. I know WHAT to do, I just can't seem to stay on track and do the right thing! Thanks to everyone for sharing your stories and for the words of encouragement!

So I have been a total loss at this....haven't lost much weight since my presurgery diet. My band was about a year ago. Not eating a lot, but also not exercising. Can still eat chocolate so I'm in trouble! Hope to start visiting the site to get some encouragement. Thanks.
