I was so unhappy and not living life ..felt it just passing me by..endured depression and hopelessness...my legs were paying the price for my weight......I was surfing on the internet shortly after Thanksgiving 2008 and started reading about the Lap Band Surgery.....I knew right then that this was going to change my life....so I placed a call to Dr. Benjamin Hungs office in Lincoln Nebraska.....I was able to set up and appointment asap...I think they heard the urgency in my voice.....They pre approved my insurance and I was in their office asap....I went thru the required pre op appointments and passed with flying colors....I was very lucky that my health was good....December 10th 2008 was my surgery date and I had no problems and feel I was in and out of the hospital quickly.....I began to loose weight from the beginning....I remember certain numbers still to this day................23 pounds then 36 and 64 and 83 and it just kept coming off and I was smiling more and feeling like Sandie again......I worked out and walked faithfully.....Now here I find myself....five years later.....weighing less than my senior year of high school and loving life............I have had a full right knee replacement and a new knee cap on the left...........gave up my gallblatter 2 months after my lap band surgery...............and have not suffered depression or unhappiness since.....I would hope that my story will inspire or motivate even just one person.......I have changed all aspects of my life.....not only my eating and esteem but I divorced....and moved to sunny Florida.......I intend to live the rest of my life happily....healthy and with a huge smile on my face.....Buckets of sand and sun..............Sandie
