Sorry to hear you had such complications. Not sure how I would handle it either. I'm self pay as well and pray nothing will happen. Did they determine what was wrong? Was it something to do with the band or the surgery? Maybe have an honest talk with the doctor and explain your situation. He might be willing to do something to help. Never hurts to try.

good idea gottbe. I would also consider getting a bullet for your protein shakes and smoothies. Welcome to the group!

I think you would feel it if it was harmful. I started mushes after a week. Take it slow.

Oh I'm so glad to hear about the upcoming dates. Keep up posted! I'm sure all of you will do awesome. For those of us who have had our surgeries, it's good to hear most of us are in the same boat. Getting back into our regular routines. It's been good for me to be busy and not focus 110% on my band. Right now it's too easy to eat, too easy to step on the scale and way too easy to get discouraged and then look for a little sumtin sumtin to make it all better. 151? So what's happen with the rest of you?

Have a GREAT day at work Deb!

It's hard to be kind to yourself when your so anxious to loss weight. I need to remember this is a process not a quick fix. We'll make it happen if we're just patient. Yep! Talking more to myself here than anyone else. Seems to help if I put it out there. Hope posting has the same affect on you all.

Ya that phone thing is a pain. Hopefully they will fix it soon. Thanks for sharing too. It's good to know how others in the same time frame are doing. We're 151 members strong now and I'm really hoping they also share. It really does help and I like getting to know each of you.

15 Days Post Op - Weight Loss Stalled
scorpiolady replied to Jfobies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded April 2 and I've lost and gained the same 2 lbs like 10 times over the last 3 wks. Can't WAIT for my fill and just keep reminding myself this is a time for healing. << tapping my foot waiting, waiting waiting I'm not a very patient person. -
When my weight loss starts showing I'm planning on telling people I've been working hard at losing. Which is the truth.

Cream of Broccoli was my fav!

Anyone Else Close To My Date May 21St?
scorpiolady replied to pbmls223's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
We're up to 151 members so I'm SURE there is someone out there lurking. Does it count that I'm getting my first fill that day? I'm just as excited about my fill now as I was about getting banded. -
Don't get discouraged. I'm in a holding pattern as well. Ready for my fill on the 21st. Can't wait!

3Rd Day Out And No Desire To Eat.
scorpiolady replied to brokenwings's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
As you feel better, your desire for food will return. I don't want to burst your bubble but you may not lose a ton of weight right off the bat. I'm learning this is just a time to heal and train yourself for whats to come after your first fill. I wish someone would have prepared me for this BEFORE surgery. I've only lost 5 lbs since surgery and it's NOT because I'm eating too much. Take it easy on yourself and not push too much. I did clear liquids for almost a week and didn't starve. Chicken broth never tasted so good and Popsicle became my new BFF. -
I felt "fatter" for about 2 weeks after surgery. Like my tummy was huge and I have no muscle control. I didn't think of the gas but more no muscle control. It gets better either way.

The above is compliments of dhales. LMAO.. I like the thin coffin and would be happy to pay for the boobs if I can have a coffin like that! Thanks for sharing dhales

Not Losing Weight!
scorpiolady replied to JustMandak's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just so you don't feel alone, I'm in a holding pattern too. Banded 4/2 and holding steady. CAN'T wait for my first fill. I do have to say if it wasn't all the info I read on here about being in "lapband hell" I would be very depressed and feel like a failure. Since I've read this is a normal and I just need to focus on healing, I'm much better. -
AWESOME! Now the phase of indecision is past you and you can start working towards a healthy new you!! Congrats!
-
LOL deflate? That's a funny term but a great visual. That's exactly what I'll do too.
-
That's awesome dhales! Looks like your on the right path to getting healthy even if it means losing your chest Keep posting and sharing. Keeps the rest of us motivated!

Welcome to the band-side Congrats Deb! So glad you posted today. I've been thinking about you all day. Make sure to be kind to yourself and not expect too much. Rest, relax, and heal.

125 Members So Why Are We So Quiet???
scorpiolady replied to brokenwings's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
summrsue I'm not losing either so don't feel too bad. I've heard this time is referred to being in "lapband hell" but to go up and down each day with the same lb gets really frustrating. I'm sure it will start dropping when we get filled. May 21st for me! I can't wait!!! I am happy for others like runnyf. It's awesome to hear your doing so well. -
My port pain lasted a few weeks if I remember correctly and YES that's exactly how it felt. Like it was pulling where they stitched it place. Usually hurt the most when I was rolling over at night. Like it pulled on it. Now there's no pain. I think it just takes time to heal. Be kind to yourself.
