Non Measurable Results From Lap Band
scorpiolady replied to guitar4life3000's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is the best thing I've read on here so far. THANK you for making me laugh. I almost snorted Water out my nose! -
OMgoodness! I forgot about being preggers. Everyone had a horror story about labor. By the time I deliveried I was terrified. Of course, my delivery wasn't perfect but it all came out (pardon the pun) ok in the end. LOL So much so I had too more babies. There are some very valid points here but again, having this surgery is a personal decision and it's important to feel good about it.

Day 2 wasn't too good but Day 3 will be much better. hoot hoot!

Glove, I would have to agree with Deb and second what smmrsue said. It's completely YOUR decision and only you can make the right one for yourself. After being on this forum for the past few weeks, you pick up on certain personalities. I haven't come across anyone yet who seems as determined to follow the guidelines set out by your Doctor as you do. You have your diet down pat, know the rules front and back, and it seems you have more will power than anyone on here. I KNOW you have more than I do. Yes there are failure rates and horror stories and if we focused on those, none of us would be getting it done. I like the success stories and know if I work the band correctly, I will be one of those. I'm positive you will be too if you choose to go this direction. I would like to ask one question here about those who fail. Did the band fail, or did she fail the band? Know we're here for you whatever decision you make. julz~

Maybe something to do with Mercury? hehe I'm kidding (sorta), but the surgery is getting very close. I'm pretty happy with being so determined, even if I am nervous. I don't like indecision. So I feel like I'm counting the minutes now.

BINGO!!! Never even thought of it this way but my reality is I hate the gym because I'm too fat. Add that to my list! -
Hi runny and welcome to the group. We are a special group if I do say so myself Please feel free to express yourself freely here as your thoughts and feelings may just help one of us with our struggles. It's already done that for me. I think of my friends here throughout the day and wondering how they are dealing. However different we each are, we all have the same goal in mind. To be healthy and happy in our own skin. it's wonderful! Happy sharing and know your not alone. julz~

Yes! Yesterday. Super busy at work and was able to do just 2 shakes and chicken noodle soup. Easy on the noodles... Not sure why it was yesterday but I know I can do this now and I'm fully vested. Like you, until yesterday it didn't seem real to me. Now it does. My weight went up with all the last meals, but today I'm down 2.8 lbs from Sunday. Now I cant' wait to be one of those positive posters sharing my experience with everyone else.

Non Measurable Results From Lap Band
scorpiolady replied to guitar4life3000's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is a great post! I want to feel good! Not sluggish. I want to get the bounce back in my step. I want to be the one that gets noticed rather than be the fat lady tag along. I want to buy cute clothes. I want to feel sexy again. I want to feel good about myself. I want to not be able to rest my arms on my stomach roll. -

Thank you for sharing. Makes me feel so much more confident about my decision. Counting down now, j~ -
Today is day 2 of my pre-op and I think I have it figured out. Yes, I want to eat but haven't had time to think about it. Took my Protein Shakes and chicken noodle soup with me to work and put in a 12 hr day. Too damn busy to think about about. Now all I have to do is stay super busy the next few weeks and try not to think about food too much. I might make that work. I did have one thought today as I was downing my second Protein Shake late today at work. I will really need to plan my food intake after I'm banded. Usually I get so hungry that I will come home and make whatever I can just to get food in and I eat way too fast. Normally when I'm busy, I eat between clients or get myself so damn hungry that I'll eat anything I can find or stop on the way home. Probably one of the reason I'm so overweight now. Lack of planning, slow eating habits and let myself get too hungry. Yes, the band is a tool and I'm going to have to learn how to eat again like a healthy person. Maybe mark out time for my meals? What a concept. A lunch break!!

I think I read that thing front to back last night. Maybe getting a little nervous about all this. I was told by my doctor once that knowledge essential to calm the nerves. If you knew what to expect, it gave you a sense of control of what was happening. I'm not one that gives up control easily so knowing what is happening is really important for me. Unlike most of you, I've haven't' had lots of pre-op stuff which makes me a little nervous. Thanks for the great info Glove. Your awesome!

Swadley! Welcome to the group. I can hear your accent in your writing. LOVE it. Make sure you keep sharing your experiences with us! julz~

Congrats to both of you! Nice to hear your doing so well.

I love meat too, but over the years have eaten less and less of it. Yesterday wasn't too bad. Had my two shakes and a salad in the late afternoon. When I struggle the most is late in the evening. I really want something to eat before I go to bed. I tell myself I just need a taste of something and end up eating an entire bag of popcorn. Last night I forced myself to drink 2 large glasses of water and went to bed. Day two will be better!! YES it will! j~

It's been an emotional day for me. Not sure why really. Lots of little bumps and I didn't turn to food. Did my am Protein Shake, late afternoon salad, and my evening Protein. Day One is done! Next...
-
Did you try being hypnotized? That was a good one. Day one of pre-op diet. Did my Protein Shake and already wanted to turn to food as a way to relieve stress This could be a long two weeks. My day off and I'm thinking this would be a good day to tackle the garden full of weeds.

I have the same concern. Seems like a lot of money for no guarantees. HOWEVER.... if I add up how much money I've spent on gym memberships, fade diets, special foods and so on, the lap band will probably end up saving me money. We will have to "use" the band as a tool and not depend on it to do all the work. We're almost there!
-
That sounds wonderful!

Let us know. BTW Love all the info your sharing with us.
