I'm on a mission! I had my surgery in Mexico by Dr. Ortiz. Great experience but I'm getting tired of going to Mexico for my fills. Does anyone know of a Dr. in Arizona who would do fills on someone who had their surgery in Mexico? Understand I'm not unhappy with my surgery or experience in Mexico, would just like to find someone local to do my fills. True Results in Scottsdale said no btw

misswifey21 Awesome! ANYONE who is interested just private message me your email address and we can start there. I would love to get a group together. It's been 2 years since I had my lapband and I still have about 20 lbs to lose. Need the support and could use the motivation! Thanks for responding Misswifey. Looking forward to getting to know you. 157 lbs loss is great! Julie -
Hey I got my 3rd fill here in Phx. Shoot me an email and I'll share what info I found with you.

I had my 3rd fill this week. I've lost a total of 38 lbs with 10 of it being before surgery. I was getting a little discouraged because I was only losing about 10 lbs each time I had a fill and then would hold my weight until the next fill. I had my surgery and fills in Mexico so getting a fill was a bit of a hassle. Long story short here: I found someone local and am back on the track. Hopefully I'll start losing again as I only have about 25 more to get to my goal. It's certainly been a process and I haven't lost it as fast as I thought I would but hey, sometimes you get what you need in life, not what you want. Hope everyone is doing well. Be well, be happy, j~

I was wondering the same thing. Banded in Mexico (Ortiz) and wanted to see what the cost would be to get filled here. If those prices are correct I'll be heading back down there soon. At least I get a few days off and a trip out of Phoenix! Only hassle I've ever had is getting back across the border into the states. Standing in line sucks! Please let me know if you find anyone cheaper! julie <<Mexico bound!

I'm still pluggin away. I get a fill, lose 10 lbs and then stop dead. Time for another fill but since I had surgery in Mexico it's a bit of a hassle. Working on not being too hard on myself. Good to hear from you. Hugs, j

Hey Deb! How ya doing now? Still feel restriction? Still losing?

Hey Springers! Sorry I've been hiding out lately. Not because I don't care about how you all are doing, just in a bit of a funk with my weight loss. Also busy with work and my new house. So much has been going on it's hard to keep up. Back to the topic.... My first fill was in May which put me up to 3cc in my 11cc band. I was excited and looking forward to losing weight but this didn't happen. I spent my whole summer bouncing up and down with 3 or 4 lbs. Just like I put on the weight, lose a lb, gain 2, lose gain lose gain... Very frustrating when I felt I should have been losing steadily. As many of you know, I got my surgery in Mexico so getting a fill involves a road trip, over night stay and standing in long lines at the border. NOT that I'm complaining, just not a quick trip to the doc. It was hard for me to come on here and see everyone getting results while I was stuck and I didn't want to sound whiny. So last week I finally got back into Mexico to get my next fill. I was told that I shouldn't expect fast weight loss because I started out with a low BMI compared to most who get WLS. DUH! Would have been nice to know this before! My doc does things a little differently than here in the states. They only expect to give me 2 or 3 fills in my life time. Fine with me if I lose the weight. My second fill was a little more aggressive, I figure I'm up to about 7 cc's now. THANK GOODNESS. Now I seem to be where everyone else is in this journey. Can't eat more than 4 oz at a time and that's if I eat slowly and nothing too dense. I actually feel restriction this time even when I drink too much Water. I have to take it slow and wait for things to pass before I take another sip or bite of anything. Good news is I've lost almost 5 lbs since my fill!!! wooohooo for me. Yes that would be me tooting my own horn. I miss my connection with my fellow springs but realize life can't always be focused on a website and weight loss. I hope many of you have been living life to it's fullest with a new spring in your step. If you want to connect with me on Facebook I will be happy to add anyone interested. Just shoot me a message on here and I'll give you my connection information. Not that I won't be following along here from time to time, but it would be great to get to stay connected on more than just the weight loss journey. Big Hugs, julie~

So I'm still here. Sorry to be so scarce lately. I've been a little depressed and super busy. I just haven't been losing the way I had hoped and still struggling with weight gain when I have my TOM. Sucks! No worries though, I'm not giving up. (LOL like I have that choice.) I did get my second fill but it doesn't seem to be nearly enough. Plan on getting another one soon and hopefully that will put me into the full swing weight loss that I see everyone else on. Maybe by Christmas I'll be at goal. It is good to see everyone else doing so well. Keep up the good work! It is inspiring to see your numbers drop. Be well, be happy, and hugs to all, Julz~

Guess it's time to get off my butt and start exercising! Thanks for all the support. I so appreciate all of you!

Guess it just proves even if we all have the same goal in mind, we are all very different. 111 lbs lost is incredible! I'm sure you'll hit your goal before you know it!

So I'm 50. Ya the big 50! wooohooo... but that's not why I'm here today. Let's talk about menopause! In a nut shell it sucks even without all the major side effects I hear about. I've been pretty lucky in that regard. I thought I was over having my TOM because I haven't had one since May. Well it's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack So why am I posting about this here? Well, it effects my weight. I usually gain 2 to 3 lbs each month and then start the cycle of working off the weight again. It just didn't disappear after my TOM went away each month. Those 2 to 3 lbs would hold on and make me work them off. So each month I would work like a dog to get off 5 lbs only to gain back 2 to 3 every 4 weeks. Felt like the never ending race. So I was a tad bit excited when I skipped a month. Being banded hasn't prevented the 2 to 3 gain each month either but I'm not losing sight of my long term goal here. I will win this race! On a more positive note... A "unknowing" friend of mine mentioned my weight loss yesterday! Finally! Made me feel all warm and fuzzy. It's amazing how receiving a compliment makes you feel. It was nice. So today my goals are: 1. Control my cravings! Chocolate cookies are on the top of the list. 2. Be patient and persistent with myself. 3. Give as many compliments as I can to anyone and everyone I can. Share the joy. just sayin, j~
