3 Weeks Post Op No More Liquids Calories
Anissa replied to brokenwings's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congrats Deb- my problem is I don't need a spoon to eat ice cream. -
I'd be interested, Irving would work best for me since I'm in Justin but work @ the airport.
-
Chili Beans- yummmm. Once again I'm hungry, LOL. I cheated yesterday and had some cream of potatoe soup- it was good except the guilt I felt afterwards. I start mushies on Tuesday and can't wait. No more cheating for me though.

Dr. John Michael Marsden - Dr. Marsden
Anissa replied to Jennifer in Dallas's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I had my surgery 4/30 with Dr.Marsden, I also went thru True Results -Hurst. -
I was banded April 30th and am starving. This liquid diet is soooo tough and I really want to cheat but I keep telling myself I didn't spend all this money to screw this up. I was told I wouldn't be hungry or even interested in food - food is all I can think about! I just keep telling myself only a few days to go.

I was banded yesterday and so far am in alot of pain but glad to have gotten surgery.Small issues like taking meds for other health issues. I have to look into if insurance will cover disolvable tabs of one med due to cost and why now since I have been taking tabs w/o issue. I was self pay thru True Results with hiatal hernia repair so they dont know about lap band just hernia. I also seem to get the hiccups alot- hope i'm not damaging anything. I'm glad I am taking a week off - wish I could take more but I am out of time at work due to gallbladder surgery earlier this year - oh well I'll just have to deal. Thanks to you all for posting such great topics and answering a lot of my questions. This board has really helped me know what to expect.

Best of Luck tomorrow- you have been a great inspiration. Sounds like mentally you are good to go so I have no doubt this will be the first step to a successful weightloss journey.

I have to say thus far the gas pain is much worse. I didn't experience much if any with gall bladder. My gas pain now is very intense and while walking, etc helps a little bit it still is painful. As for the incisons they don't hurt unless you do something stupid like using those muscles too much rather than legs when getting up from a chair etc. That pain is just quick and shooting like with gallbladder surgery.

I had my gallbladder taken out in December and had an easy time with it. I get the lapband today so I will let you know how it compares.

Anyone know a $200 or less fill doctor in DFW area
Anissa replied to flowers's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas. I think their # is 1-800-Lap-Band. $50 w/o insurance. -
I've been busy obsessing about upcoming surgery, prop diet, work, recovery, etc. Basically I'm a mess. I'm sure after Monday I'll start to obsess about post op diet, port pain, slips, hydration, etc.
-
I'm glad everything worked out for you. I am facing the same issue with my right breast just found out about it on Tuesday, and my surgery is scheduled for the 30th. It seems that there is always some obstacle in my way. Like you I am going thru with surgery regardless.

I am also on the 30th and started my pre op diet early. I was worried I hadn't lost enough weight on my scale I lost 3 lbs, I happend to have gyno appt and that was also only 3 pounds yet when I went to surgeon I had lost 8 all these weigh ins were the same day. So I don't know which scale to believe my surgeon even told me I could stop the diet which I have somewhat done. Anyway don't worry too much something is better than nothing.

Are You Going To Tell Anyone About Your Surgery???
Anissa replied to Lola Granola's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have only told my husband who has been supportive. I won't tell co workers because I don't think it's anyones business I have only told them I have a hernia to explain the short notice on vacation- which happens to be true. As for friends I may tell them after I have some success. For me its a personal decision and thats how I intend to keep it. -
So I was scheduled for the 16th of April but now that will change. Basically my doctors office staff leaves alot to be desired and since I am self pay the added cost for hernia repair was a deal breaker. They wouldn't submit to insurance because they "usually don't get approved" what a ridiculous answer! I was denied surgery by insurance which I had to hound them to do that correctly-which I'm not sure if they submitted correctly or not but I was going to go forward regardless until the hernia issue. Anyway now I'm going through True Results they charge 5500 with hernia repair which is cheaper than just the lap band with my previous doctor and they are closer to where I live. Anyway I hope medical records get transferred quickly so I can move forward- hope to get banded now the last week in April or maybe May. Sorry for the rant but I just had to get this off my chest.

WooHoo!!!!New date is April 30th so far True Results Rocks

It shouldn't be an issue I maintain screening equipment for the TSA. Now you may be a selectee- someone randomly selected for extra screening if by chance they want to pat you down they will ask if you have any medical implants.

Congrats Deb - what awesome news for you!

Funny thing, I have stood next to surgeons as they performed surgery, been witness to births and c-sections(yuk), have had several surgeries myself but am too chicken to watch video for fear I might change my mind.LOL.
-
Congrats on your approval and I'm sure you"ll get a surgery date soon. Best of luck.

I have to do a 2 week liquid 800 cal diet. I'm getting jealous of people that will be allowed to chew some "real" food before their surgery.

Hi All, My name is Anissa and I have been on this journey for the past year or so. I have finally set a date of April 16th for my surgery and now am starting to get cold feet. I live in the DFW area of Texas and have really started my weight struggle in my mid twenties, I'm 41 now. I have a super supportive husband which has helped alot! I'm a newbie to the site and this is my first group so I have alot to learn from all of you- so glad to be with others who are at the same stage of their journey

Aside from the fear that it won't work or I won't be able to succeed beacause I don't follow the lifestyle change. I am petrified about possible complications such as slips, flipped port etc. I am self pay so I can barely pay for surgery in the first place (actually really can't afford it) but the thought of needing additional surgery and not having the money is very frightening.
