My surgeon's office told is that our insurance companies might deny our surgery if we gained any weight, ok to lose. -
February Bandsters?
Furcoat1951 replied to mrsmyers2010's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I so agree. It's hard to tell the difference between hunger and gas sometimes. I find it necessary to eat/drink something every 3 hours or so or I get nauseated. It's been 21/2 weeks for me. Glad I took 2 weeks off to give myself time to learn how to cope with my new stomach! -
Banded On The 9Th... Now Finally At Home!
Furcoat1951 replied to cavwife67's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi,I was also banded on Feb.9th. Will be going back to work on Monday , had to take a couple of weeks off since I do lots of lifting and carrying at work. Mushy diet working out well, having lots of Progresso soups I put through the food processor . I really love the Isopure protein powders, especially the pink grapefruit and fuzzy navel flavors. Starting to get the hang of all the burping and only a little sore over my port site. Down close to 20 lbs! -

The Infamous Pre-Op Diet..
Furcoat1951 replied to newme2012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed 4 shakes a day, raw veg, a half cup of non-fat yogurt& lots of non calorie beverages. The shakes really keep you full, and the drinks keep your mouth busy. -
Dr. Jonathan Reich - i will be getting banded soon
Furcoat1951 replied to thordog0`'s topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Three ladies in my workplace, including me, all banded by Dr, Reich. Great surgeon and the staff is the best. Very serious about ensuring good outcomes. Week and a half post-op now and down 10 lbs. -
Ah the burping....I know I swallow air when I drink and it has to come out. Just wish it did't hurt so much. My surgeon says it'll get better, only a week post-op.

3 Days Post Op
Furcoat1951 replied to jackie102671's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a week out and still have some gas and burping. The motion and vibration of a car ride seems to help! Also try warm broth or tea to help things relax. -

Hard to get those protein shakes down, the warm broth is so much better.
