    March Bandsters!

I think you did great, considering you had no fills. On 3/20 it will be one year for me and I have had 3 fills and am down 50 pounds. I am a little disappointed I thought it would have been more. But it was 50 pounds I was never able to lose before so really I should be happy. Keep up the good work.

    March Bandsters!

Thank you for your responses to my burping issue, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with this issue, I also get the hiccups too. If it is because of restriction I will live with it, the end result is worth it. I am a little jealous of your great weight loses but at the same time I am happy to be down the 40 pounds I have lost so far. The holidays will pose a little bit of a challenge but I think I am up to the challenge. Keep up the good work, and lets keep in touch from time to time.

    March Bandsters!

Hi Everyone, it has been 8 months for us March Bandsters. How is everyone doing? I am now down 40 pounds I struggled here and there but my last fill has helped me to eat less. I have to be very careful what I eat and to be sure to chew food thoroughly or else it leads to a stuck episode and that is not pretty. I have a question for you all. Is anyone experiencing a burping issue, I seem to burp all the time now and sometimes I get this feeling of air bubbles escaping up my esophagus? Just wondering if I'm weird or not??? I would love to hear from you all and know how you are doing.

I get them also it is usually a sigh that I should stop eatting. Although they can be annoying think in the positive. These hiccups are helping us to eat less and lose weight.

Just want to share something.......since being banded in March I have lost about 31 pounds I have struggled a bit but am happy with myself. But what I am excited about is that I got on a plane yesterday and for the first time in over 10 years I did NOT have to wear a seat belt extender, woohoo what a great feeling I can't even tell you

    March Bandsters!

Hi Everyone, I haven''t been on here for a while. Seems like everyone is doing well. I have had 2 fills for a total of 5cc's. Over the last 4-5 weeks I have had about 3-4 stuck episodes. So after this months Dr visit it was decided that I didn't have another fill on this visit but work on my own behavior. I know sometimes I don't make the right choices so I will be working making lifestyle changes. My Dr and I set some goals. 1) to lose at least 8 lbs by next visit 2) start to track my food more 3) excersise at least 3x a week. Summer is a challenge good luck to everyone

    March Bandsters!

I hear alot of people here saying that they are skipping breaksfast my Dr tells me never to do that and that you should eat withing a 1/2 hr of waking if your weight lose is slow and you're not eating breakfast maybe try and add a protein in the morning and aee how you do This is an article I found Some people skip breakfast in an effort to lose weight, but the practice is more likely to cause weight gain than weight loss. Skipping breakfast is strongly linked to the development of obesity. Studies show that overweight and obese children, adolescents, and adults are less likely to break the fast each morning than their thinner counterparts. According to research, skipping meals, especially breakfast, can actually make weight control more difficult. Breakfast skippers tend to eat more food than usual at the next meal or nibble on high-calorie snacks to stave off hunger. Several studies suggest that people tend to accumulate more body fat when they eat fewer, larger meals than when they eat the same number of calories in smaller, more frequent meals. To teens, especially teenage girls, skipping breakfast may seem like a perfectly logical way to cut down on calories and lose weight. It's important for moms to educate their kids about the importance of the morning meal and the role it plays in maintaining good health and preventing obesity.

    March Bandsters!

Every Dr seems to have their own routine, my Dr does 3cc first fill, 2cc second fill, 1cc every fill after, if needed. I am at 5cc right now not really feeling restriction but definitely not feeling hungry between meals. Just trust that your Dr is doing what is right for you. Good Luck

The 5 pounds was in 3 weeks but really I think most of it came off in the last week because I was struggling in the first two weeks.

    March Bandsters!

Since getting my second fill, I get a feeling of food stuck in my throat is this considered a restriction???? I definitely need to slow down and start chewing my food better. I'm not complaining just asking???

    March Bandsters!

I had my second fil yesterday 5/19 - lost another 5 pounds which makes me very happy because I have been struggling. Everyday is a new day and I'm so happy I did this. It is great watching the pounds come off no matter how slow that may be

I feel the same exact way I had my first fill 2 weeks ago 3cc's I do not feel any restriction at all. I go back next week 5/19 for my next fill. I am praying that I feel some sort of restriction after the fill

    March Bandsters!

I just had my first fill also (3cc's) I don't feel any restriction either, my next appt is 5/19. Please let us know how it goes with your Second fill. Do you know how much they plan on filling. My NP says my next one will be 2cc's
  24. One month since surgery, slow and steady, I have lost 11 lbs since 3/20 not bad. I had my first fill yesterday 4/28/12, 3cc's. Looking forward to the pounds coming off just a little more quickly 1-2 lbs a week would be great. Still trying to adjust my lifestyle to a healthier way of eating. I'm getting their though
  25. Hi my name is Ann, I weigh 270 lbs and my Lap Band Surgery date is March 20th. I am trying to prepare myself mentally for the changes I expect in my life style. I am having my surgery at Stamford Hospital by Dr. Davis. I would love to loss 100 lbs but just being under 200 lbs would make me so happy. I am a little nearvous about the liquid diet prior to surgery, but I am going into this with a positive mind. Anyone else planning on being banded in March. It would be nice to have a little group of people going through all the same stages at the same time for support
