I am officially approved!!!! My surgeon's office faxed paperwork to Blue Cross of California on Thursday, and they processed the approval the next day! I am on CLOUD NINE. Even though I had read the policy over and over I was so worried that it wouldn't go through. I've read so many cases where some of you have had struggles with the insurance companies.:clap2:

I have the PPO plan. I'm actually in NY, but the plan is from CA. My doctor is George Fielding at NYU in NY. My weight when starting this whole process was 256... after almost completing the liquid phase, I am down to 242. I'm 5'5", so yes it's 100 lbs overweight - I can't even imagine being able to get down to 175 - it's been so long. Good luck to you - will keep you posted!

From what I've seen it all depends on which coverage you have.

Forgot to add that... so my surgery date is July 5th! I'm less than 1 week away - that's why I was so worried about the insurance - thinking that I have been going through all these appointments and processes since March, and getting down to the wire - would have been horrible to have the insurance denied at that point. Thanks!

Can someone please tell me how the sleep study is conducted? Do you have to sleep at the doctor's office or hospital or are they able to monitor your sleep via a machine that you bring home? thanks!

I have a question: if your insurance company requires that you participate in a 6 month doctor-supervised plan of some sort, and you comply - let's say that you DO lose, oh I don't know, 30 lbs... and you were about 120 lbs. overweight to begin with - does anyone know if the fact that you would now "only" be 90 lbs. overweight then cause additional interference from the insurance company???
