CS2388, the only fish I ever ate as a child were the ones caught out of a small stream like blue gill perch or small trout and they were all fried! This one gives you a great Protein in the fish and the yogurt with a little crunch thrown in from the cucmumber. Love it!

Katie’s Zucchini Fritters 2 Large Zucchini, grated with a course grater 2 ears of corn, cut off the cob, optional, if you are doing the lowcarb thing, omit this 1 lb of bacon, cooked and crumbled 6 green onions, sliced 8 eggs, scrambled 1 cup parmesan, shredded or powdered 1/4 cup flour Season Salt Pepper Grate zucchini with a course grater. Layer in a colander with table salt and place a plate on top of zucchini. Weigh it down with something heavy, 5lbs or so. This will remove quite a bit of moisture and make for a better fritter. Leave for at least a half hour, longer is better though. Rinse well and layout on paper towel to dry. If you do not have a course grater, a regular grater will work, but could change the texture of this dish. Make sure to salt zucchini really well and let sit for a longer period of time, squeeze out as much liquid as possible, I cannot stress this enough. My first batch I used a regular grater and they were a little mushy. Combine zucchini, corn, bacon, onions, eggs, & flour. Add ¾ cup cheese and season salt and pepper to taste. If the batter looks a little runny, add a little more flour a table spoon at a time till it has thickened up. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat or an electric skillet set to 325. Cook fritters in batches. Drop mounds of batter into the skillet, flattening out slightly if needed. Cook, until browned, turning once, 4-6 minutes on each side. Transfer to a wire rack. Sprinkle with remaining parmesan cheese while hot. Repeat with remaining batter. Makes approximately 16 3” fritters.

I am a total foodie and love this recipe for ease of cooking. Peel seed and chop one cumcumber. Mix with greek yogurt, chopped garlic, and dill. Set to the side. Cut up salmon into small portions. Think of how much you can eat. Make some bigger ones if you have a significant other. Place a piece of salmon in the middle of a piece of foil and top with yogurt cucumber mixture. Fold foil over making a pouch, sealing edges so no steam escapes. Bake in a 375 degree oven approximately 12 minutes, or until fish flakes easily with a fork. TA-DA! yumyumyum!

Poll: Why Did You Get Banded
bornready replied to m1aman's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I want to be able to walk without my thighs rubbing together. I want to fit, COMFORTABLY, in an airline seat. I want to go on the carnival rides with my neices and nephews. I don't want to stand in the back of everyone to hide my body when taking pictures. I want to ride my bike without thinking "Everyone is making fun of the fat chick on the bike". I don't want to have diabetes. I don't want to develop heart problems. I want to have sex with my husband and not feel self concious. Is that enough? I can do more.... -
Don't confuse "Stuck" with "full". Similar feeling, but different things happening. If you are sighing alot, or hiccuping, you are full. If you are expieriencing any pain in the area right between you breasts (yes, men have them too), then you are probably stuck. This helps me alot, picture your upper pouch not as a small stomach, but a funnel. When something blocks the funnel, whether it is because your lower stomach is full or because something to big cannot go thru, it feels very different. Excruciating pain is involved when you are stuck. If you can't breathe, I don't know what that is, you need to ask your DR.

Just say what you just said! As long as you are having surgery for health reasons and you should be ok. Don't tell them you changed your mind to please someone else and that you made this decision alone.

I threw my scale away and didn't weigh myself for a month! Imagine my surprise when I wasn't freaked out all the time. I did have some anxiety when I went to the Dr's and weighed in, but I had lost 8lb in a month. We did not put this weight on all at once and its not going to come off all at once! Also, water retention plays a huge roll in what you weigh, stay away from salt and your body will shed those extra oz of water.

I have used phentermine several times and haven't had long term success with it. Your body does get immune to it and your dr will probably up your milligrams as time goes by. the last time I used it, I lost 23lbs in one month. It is legally prescibed speed. My grandmother was addicted to it in the 80s!

Crystal Light - Is There An Alternative?
bornready replied to Daddyof4's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am with you on the crystal light, don't like it! Mio, lots of flavors, even have ones with caffeine in them, cheapest alternative, usually less that $3 for a bottle, makes 24 servings. Disclaimer, I think the pomegranate flavor is the worst! Vitamin Water ZERO, lots of flavors, some with caffeine, find it on sale for $1 a bottle and stock up. And my guilty, back to childhood, hide it from my coworkers when I mix it up in the break room, No Calorie Hawaiian Punch in regular and grape flavor. Found this at the dollar store, 10 servings! -
I do what honk does, I eat a salad then have a small slice. By the time I get to the crust edge, I am full!

For champagne to go flat, it needs to be decanted, and it could take up to 48 hours for it to go flat. Open the bottle and pour into a pitcher, put a lid on it, but not tight, it will blow the lid off, trust me. Warm champagne is volatile, if you leave it on the counter don't shake it to see if it is flat. Stir it. From my own expierience, even when you are convinced it is flat, there is still something in there, makes me burp evertime. Mix it with some OJ, that will help also. Hope this helps.

Can *feel* The Band!
bornready replied to Quackerz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It can be like that right after surgery, when the band starts to "seat", or find it's groove. Ask your dr if they gave you a fill at the time of surgery. Lot's do to test for leaks. I thought my band was empty till I went in for a fill and found out they had put 1.5cc in at time of surgery. That is why I had such great weight loss in the beginning. Drink slowy, make sure you are taking in your protein, it promotes healing and weight loss. If you are truly, deeply concerned, call your surgeon. -
Almost 6Mos Post Op And I've Only Lost 15Lbs
bornready replied to spoiledbratt97's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should be taking in 80+ grams of protein a day, then veg, then fruit. No bread, pasta, sugar... you know, easy foods. if I deviate from this kind of diet at all, my weight loss stops altogether. -
5Cc's And Have A Terrible Pain When I Eat Certain Things
bornready replied to sherrypep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes that feeling is caused by restriction in your band. Take your time and chew small bites. It has happened to me several times and I have to remind myself to slow down. -

Do Banders Ever Have A Glass Of Wine Or A Cocktail?
bornready replied to Kathy Mather's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You can have a glass of wine, or a cocktail, but remember that these are empty calories. Also, you will get DRUNK! alot faster, I found that one out at a wedding, Yikes! Also, if you have even one drink, your inhibitions are lowered and you will eat things you know you shouldn't. Also another thing I learned the hard way, to much to drink and I eat high calorie slider foods, not good if you are trying to lose weight. So, the moral of the story, watch what you eat and drink! Keep the alcohol to a minimum and be careful, alcohol will effect you so much differently now! -
Dr Laura Machado says that it takes 3 months for the loss of protein to show up in hair loss. I started to lose hair also, I now drink a 42gram EAS protein drink a day, half in the morning, half in the afternoon. Hair loss has stopped. Hope you find your solution.
