Any Happy Bandsters Out There With 5 or More Years Of Banding?
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to NeenBand's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
sorry but to gain weight, one must eat more calories then one burns off band or no band...sleeve or bypass every person with a weight problem eats too much and the wrong things aka unhealthy choices the band does work not with everyone as things do happen... bands fault.....patients fault or a combo of both or a crap doctor or whatever reason all anyone can do is make the best of whatever WLS one chooses to get -
Was it worth it

call your dr in the a.m. for appt as it seems you are too tightyou need to be able to eat/drink with the band.....otherwise its not doing its job properly and your health is at risk -

try to think for better health than being skinny being (skinny) doesnt mean you are healthy... mch is right, small bites, eat slow..throwing up is bad and shouldnt be happening -

Drinking before getting Lap Band?
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to bosscookie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
very well said and well put -
from my profile picture, you can see i was as wide as i was tall...all 5'1 of me..5'2 on a good day...... when i got banded, i just wanted to be able to push my grand daughter around the block in her stroller and to get under 300....now my current goal is to get under 200.......then i think i may run for NY mayor's office

only your lap band doctor (and reg doctor) can answer your question about if you can or cant get this surgery best to discuss with them
-
you are (and were) and always will be a beautiful woman

if it hurts so bad, you need to get to the dr or go directly to the ER -
seems to me, opinions are like a-ssholes....everyone has one you just worry about you and do your thing and get healthy people who say neg things are the ones who have no clue how it works or what it is... and def are not worth your time... my dr wanted me to do the bypass duee to my size (tall as i was wide) i def showed them that i can make the band work.....and so will you

burping, carbonation and alcohol
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to Bullink's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i agree with miss, not worth the risk...hadnt had carbonation (soda/beer) since i started pre op may 2012...some dr's say yes and mine also says no and it may not cause no problems for some people but that doesnt mean that will be the result for you -
my daughter in law just told me that she has this i have done alittle reading on it, but wanted to ask if anyone on this forum has this or know of anyone who has/had any feedback welcome.

years ago i had gallbladder issues and had 3 severe/pain episodes and ended up in emergency room 3 times....after pain meds it subsided and off we went merrily home...the last time, hub told them i was staying til they fixed me.....(and ended up having emergency surgery late that night) so this is what you need to do if you cant eat/drink and per your words, laying on floor in pain, go to the emergency room or urgent care and DEMAND they make it right.....you have one life...
-
yes they repaired mine (never knew i had one) and it was/is fine
-
i had to tell HR for obv time off reasons and told a very small handful of (friends) as more and more noticed the loss, i merely said i am eating better and exercising and getting healthy for my grad daughter (100% all true)....my little friend (dixie the lap band) is always with me giving me the support i need....and its nice to know she's there

seems to me some one is overly concerned with you lets see, you are steadily losing weight and in losing 87+ pounds, the inches loss are massive and i am sure your attitude has changed and you are feeling terrific and looking terrific........seems to me, and i am just an ole biker/country girl, those people are just jealous of YOU.... we cant control what other people feel and think and frankly we really shouldnt care but we do....i have came across that via this issue (in real world and on this forum) and while it does bother me somewhat, it also makes me try harder why? i guess we must be doing something right....... so keep at it....let your success rub off on people

stay the course keep doing what you are doing and it will catch up
