Proud of myself!
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to MistyfortheMountain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
your post showed me you are stronger than you thought YOU go girl you have soooooooooooooo got this -
the foods you are eating (bread. pasta) are not Protein and will not give you protein/fullness you need if you cant get anything down other than what you said, and making bad food choices, you need to go back to dr, maybe take some out so you can eat better/healthier food options..being too tight so you cant eat is NOT the way to live.. only you can decide to use the band as intended.......if you dont, it wont work studies or not studies.....and if that doesnt help, look at some of the peope who responded to you, and their looses.......the band works... for those who work it. hang in there, eat better, exercise and make yourself well

to lose weight, bypass, sleeve, lap band, ds or whatever, one must eat less calories than they burn off.......and only the person doing the eating, knows that answer truth surfaces when one steps on the scale. a very small % have issues but ANY wls has issues/complications.. some people like to say their wls is best,,,,,,,to them no one wls is better than the other.....no matter what anyone says but we should all do what works for us....and use it as the dr advised for best results

Feeling So Discouraged! No Restirction, Band Almost Full!
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to honeydew008's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i think if it hurts going down, its too big of a bite or one ate something too fast.. i feel people (expect) more from something that is already there... eat smart, high Protein and in the allotted amounts you do not want to be soo tight you cant do anything but drink..just my opinion -
your dr would best advise you for as you can see, some drink and some dont my dr told me no carbonation (beer/soda) but i do have some wine every now and again

Feeling So Discouraged! No Restirction, Band Almost Full!
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to honeydew008's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The band won't stop you from eating an 8 oz steak and potato. I can do the same but I don't want to because I'm no longer hungry by the end of 6 ozs and a salad. That's up to you to get in touch with your body, your band and your emotions and look for that feeling of satiety. But, stress can mask feelings, making it hard to get in touch with your body. Your doctor is right. Best wishes and prayers for your little grandchild. tmf i agree tmf, just because we (could) eat way more than needed (or allotted to), doesnt mean we should... -
i eat apples just about every day......and for extra protein, dipped or topped with peanut butter

Pre op diet over the holidays
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to shungsleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you just do......you stay busy, use your free items and remember why you wanted this surgery to begin with..to lose weight and get healthy. xmas/new years is another day and it will come every year...so what you are not (eating this year) you will be able to next year and be looking damn fine doing it..food does not control you, you control YOU.. hang in there.... -
18 months post op...5 incisions....the only one i can see is where the port is and its so faint you have to damn near eyeballing it to see it.....little itty marks are least of my worries........i had a breast reduction in the 90s and those you can still see (the scars).......lap band, nope....

its only too late for those who give the f**k up you my dear are taking a great step...get your butt to the dr for a check up (fluro to make sure the band is in good shape) and i am sure it is... then back to the basics....eating great food in allotted band sizes (you know baked vs fried, fresh vs boxes) and lets not forget exercising....that does help and then, let the band do its thing... you can do this if you want too..and you do as you posted here..dont wait til tomorrow or monday to start....start NOW

No restriction 4 days out
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to boymom2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
way to early for you to be concerned about fills..agree 100000% with B....the first month is to heal.....and def should not be focused on losing weight.....right now it is water/liquid weight and why yes it counts, actual and true weight loss come from eating better and exercising...the band will help with the amount.but now, let your body, heal, rest and get your head in the game..... congrats on your surgery -
i have had restriction from the start (i have plication and some primer in band) and along with eating my allotted suggestion by my doctor, i let my band tell me when enough is enough....the signs are there.....(i have baby hiccups) and i can also feel (when i am getting full).....i feel many people are expecting the band to let them stop eating..... i am sure i could eat sliders all day long but i choose not too.. of course i knew when i was eating fast foods it was not the best thing for me but i did it...and yep, no self control..but we all have control..we know not to step ouff the curb in front of a bus...self control... ..but i told myself if i got banded, i would do whatever it took to lose weight....and my dr said i must eat better and exercise and let the band work.....i think everyone needs to do that also....with or without fills....do what works for you.....do it healthy and get on with it... wishing everyone on this thread all the best and know i am proud of you all... reading posts inspires me to hang in there.

if i am truly hungry, i eat i also drink alot.....to counter (am i or am i not hungry) and a lot of people see someone else eat or they are bored and just eat.... that was me....so when i snack, it is Protein and good for me....so many options out there besides empty calories...(fresh fruits, Protein Bars, sf jello's, cubed cheese, pnut butter...i mean, eating is good) but as always 3500 calories is a pound..ate or drank we all must not eat more calories than we can take in to not gain have a great day
