I have a sleep test scheduled tomorrow at 845. (more nervous than I need to be I expect) upset I have to remove my right index fingernail (my acyrlic one at that)... can someone fail a test like this?

well.....I have been approved for surgery by my insurance but last week my lap band clinic said (kinda out of the blue) that (l needed to have this sleep test) and this is why I am doing it.......once this is done, I hope I can get them to schedule my surgery in May....seems the closer I get to getting this done, this clinic keeps making bumps in my path... green nails (very pretty). so I will cut them all short (so when I remove my right index finger today) they wont look so .....dumb but I am a mature adult woman who is now a grandma. I will NOT cry. **smiling**

wont get freaked out by moniter stuff (more embarrassed if I eat beans during the day if you get my meaning). fail because I dont remove my nail. YEP, I am gonna remove it but it will hurt like heck to do so. (its ok because this sat is my appt to get them done). falling into order i guess. Thanks Jean. YOU ARE the bestest.

if anyone had a lap band done here, can you advise what type of pre-op diet (length) you had to do?

Thank you for that post. As a person about to have the surgery, its hard for me to read the posts that are (negative). I think and believe you must be in the right frame of mind to make this work. (I support everyone on here and hope everyone is successful).

I am having a sleep test done on tuesday. Can anyone tell me what to expect? I do know I have to spend the night. I appreciate any feedback.

I have read on here of people failing a sleep test. If I fail, does this mean I cannot get a lap band? (I have had 5 other surgeries in the past).

after all my pre-op requirements and finally getting the clearance letter to the clinic to submit for approval, Dr Enochs office just told me I now need to schedule a sleep test. THEY TELL ME THIS NOW? can you please tell me what this is how it works and (I have seen on here about people failing it). please advise as I am very distraught and upset as this (new item) that is now sprung on me.

next week will be my 3rd month..so I am also in your shoes.

You were unsuccessful with non-surgical medical treatments for obesity. Your medical records must show your failed attempts. Diet programs, such as Weight Watchers®* and Jenny Craig*, are acceptable methods of dietary management, as long as there's medical documentation of participation and monthly clinical visits with your doctor. *These programs aren't covered by TRICARE. Physician-supervised programs made-up of only weight-loss medication management, don't meet this requirement. [*]You have proof of one of the following: A body-mass index greater than or equal to 40 kilograms per meter squared (kg/m2); or A body-mass index of 35-39.9 kg/m2 with one clinically significant comorbidity, including but not limited to, cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, obstructive sleep apnea, Pickwickian syndrome, hypertension, coronary artery disease, obesity-related cardiomyopathy, or pulmonary hypertension. Last Modified:October 31, 2011 I meet all these items.........but I do not have have high blood pressure or diabetes. Will I be denied lap band surgery??

thanks army mom.....your response reads like my life minus the HBP/Cholesterol.....but I def have the joint pain etc............and my BMI is very high...(sorry to admit that but it is who I am)...I have completed all requirements they (clinic/dr) gave me.... If they deny me, I wont know what to do..

no, its greater than 40 and 50. It teeters on 59/60 (depending on the height chart). I have not done Jenny Craig, but briefly did WW and have been w/TOPS since 88 (same as WW but cheaper)..
