Feeling Down. Bandster Hell?
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to Arizonakimc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
as sojo and dawn said, portion control is key. just because (you are able to eat more) does not mean you should. the band is a only a plastic band around your stomach. it will not stop you from getting hungry (just make you eat less). you have to change what/how much you eat to lose weight. but to be a real success, you need to change that diet mental thinking. i do not have any fill yet, but i eat as if i do. i make myself stop eating at a cup of food. (even though i am sure i can/could eat more). it will get better. just hang in there. all the best to you. -
just part of the process with having (surgery) and being on a liquid diet (and being hungry). i never did what you described but have read on this forum about people who have.

Help Me! Nauseous!!
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to Nanu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
well, sojourner spoke of this before, are you drinking enough? if not , it could be that making you feel that way. (also quite possible from the surgery most likely) but if in doubt, DEF call the surgeon and let them know. everyone is different. i had the anti nausea meds also (and with me in my purse) and a patch behind my ear. keep siping and siping and then sip some more and then do it again. you must drink (and esp get your Protein in to help feed your body). i chill my shake til nearly wendy's frosty like and its awesome. feel better honey -
Holy Sugar Substitute
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to ponderingLB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if you are hungry you eat. there is a (head hunger vs being really hungry..like with a baby). they cry when they are hungry and stop when they are full. so when you eat (eat healthy things that make you full and are good for you). you are not on a diet. you are changing what you eat and how much. the band will help you eat less (and as fills come, help control the portions) but its up to you to (control) yourself. so what stops you from overeating? you do chill out, relax. sounds like you are a positive person. you will do great. all the best honey -

tempted to eat.......that is diet thinking. you are not on a diet. you making a change in your life. do not be afraid of food. just because whatever food is there, does not mean you have to eat it. (even if doritos calls my name). just hang in there. get out of the diet thinking and continue on your journey. you are doing so fantastic -
cherish.......cherish yourself.

Sooo.......now That I Am Banded...what Happens If I Do Get Nauseated???
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to kyrrin1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i worry also about things but you need to know that worrying about something that (could or could not happen) is pointless. if you get sick, you get sick. it happens. the band is sewn onto our tummy so from what others have told me (including jeannie/author of bandwagon, my surgeon etc) it would take alot of heavy, many many times of throwing up) to make it slip. but you must try not too. so relax. please. fretting gets you no where except in *on my gosh* land. all the best. -
shr, has taught me with her postings (that i read each morning as i come to work and drink my dunkin doughnut coffee) to take a moment out for myself....read her small post and (believe) not only in me but in a higher power. for that i am grateful. and for her being (my friend)

thanks as always for these posts shr. i enjoy them all

6 Days Post Op Left Shoulder Pain...
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to RandiCartmill's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
well, i had surgery on a wed and my shoulder starting hurting on sat/sun. it lasted a good 5 or 6 days and then one day i woke up and it was gone. as missy says, heating pad worked wonders (as did a hot shower directly on my shoulder) but took pain meds to help with that pain, that is for sure. def hurt pretty bad. but it will get better (each day). congrats on your surgery and i wish you all the best. -
Its a new day. Bring that new attitude with you and keep it close. You are stronger than you think you are.
-
can def see the band that is for sure...is there anyway to reach your surgeon? she may be the only one who can know (unless you have a surgery) gosh i wish i could answer but whether you did or not, just get on board and continue with your success
