    Soft Food Questions.

    mine (afer surgery and on mushies) was 2 or 3 oz...you are still kinda swollen so dont over do it but like my best girlfriend maddys, call and ask your doctor for the 100% correct answer all the best

    then dont gain it back...like maya said, is it that tom? i know i cant gain up to 10 pounds easy forget about it and just get back on track....(if you are losing inches, and feeling better) alittle setback is nothing hang in there

    Post-Surgery, Pre-Fill Nausea

    are you on (liquids after surgery?) i was on liquids for 2 weeks after surgery to help with healing. not sure about the not feeling well on your part, maybe you ate too fast or too much.....if in doubt, just ring your doctor and ask them to make yourself feel better. i sure hope you get to feeling better soon.

    could be but no need to be (cranky). i think that is a state of mind. either your bitchy or your not. (happy thoughts) and if you are, so what... my *doing w/outs on my pre-ops just gave me a headahce*. if i was bitchy or more bitchy, hub wouldnt be able to tell difference......... all the best honey. you are doing super fantastic.

    Shoulder Pain

    well, the good news is that it will go away the kinda bad is, it will go away when it does. mine lasted from day 4 to about day 8 (and was intense). the pain meds helped me and also me moving my shoulder alot.....then i woke up one day and it was gone. i hope you feel better soon.

    And It Begins ...

    dont go nuts go into this (knowing its gonna be tough) but it is very much needed to help ready you for surgery. its more (mental) than anything. i swear if i can do it, you can as i was like (there is no way i could do 2 week pre and post with no food and only liquids). but you know what my hub said. you wanted this so do what you need and have to do to make it happen. so i will tell you the same. do what you have to do and make this a reality. you got this. you do. we are all here for you (even maddys whose butt i shall beat if she keeps taking my pink popsicles). just start and say to yourself, bring it on.

    Too Young For Hot Flashes?

    i am almost 48 and i would say the last couple months, every so often at night, i get (so hot) and wake up and toss the covers off. i mean my legs are sweating and i am like WTF?? do you think this is a hot flash?

    A Small Success

    its not a (huge) success but to me everything and wanted to share w/my bandits. about 3 or 4 months ago (my friend here at work, kathy) and i would go somewhere for an hour lunch. before surgery, she would have to go get the car and bring it around to where i was (as it was parked a distance away). i couldnt do it. i was too (large) and not able to walk across the parking lot. but today, she commented to me about that and saying, now you can. as martha stewart says, its a good thing CG

    not a bit........agree with the other posters i would rather have saggy skin then be over 300 pounds again... each person is different, our skin, so why not worry about it when you get to that stage..

    Protein.

    eat more lean Protein (and or drink a shake per day to help up the quota) which is what i do in the a.m.'s as i am not hungry and too tight to eat in the mornings... go the web, look up high protein foods and choose what you like. that is what i did (and my nutritionist gave me a list of items also). hope this helps.

    On The Fence

    *I feel guilty... Like I'm taking the easy route. * 4 weeks of all liquid diets 10+ pre op's tests and appts 2 weeks of blood thinner shots in my stomach numerous visits to doctors to get records for insurance yep, this is an easy route. NOT whomever says the lap band is easy has not had one or dealt with the things I have had to do in order to get it. (some may not have had to do what i had to do) this is a decision only you can make. and i wish you all the best in whatever you decide to do or not do FYI- if you overeat (high fat junk food etc, whether you have the band in or out or not one at all) you will gain weight.

    Healthy Vs. Weight Loss.... Why Dont People Understand

    their issues are on them not you. do not let it transfer to you and cause you needless stress. if they want numbers- you can say i dont know for sure but feel a whole lot better (my mom in law asks me this all the time and what i wrote is my actual response). as for portions.-yes this is enough, thank you and yes i am eating enough, thank you. no need to (explain anything to anyone). that is how i see it. you get yourself well. let the inches start showing (as that is more important than any number on a scale).. you got this.

    having a band is way different from (dieting) its all up to choices. its all up to our mental thinking. if i want a cookie like you described, i am gonna have it. just one. not the whole box or bag (that is how i got obese in the first place). i dont mourn anything. i dont (miss) anything. i ate enough junk/high fat foods in my past that i really dont need to have them right now. but since i am not in that diet thinking, i will eat what i know is better for my body and my health. food is not the enemy. overeating is. (i was a huge binger/purger). my hub and son love junk food. i have it in the house. yep i do. do i want to eat them? heck yeah but i am stronger then a bag of chips or Cookies. those high fat/junk items cannot make me eat them. if we choose to eat that, then we do. if you do, eat it and get on with it. far be it from me to lecture anyone, but def think we need to eat to live and not focus on (what you cant have) because you can eat whatever you want. (the band makes it in smaller amounts) i wish you and anyone who reads this, the best always

    Gained 15 Pounds In A Week! So Despondent..

    water/fluid will make you gain every time. you should not weigh after surgery (as this is what happens) and then you start freeking out over something you have no control over. so stop weighing every day and focus on healing yourself and following your doctors orders. the first 4-6 weeks are for healing (your weight will go up and down). you will do fantastic.

    Three Month Diet

    ok, so yesterday was (bad). i am sure its not as (bad as you think). even so, like you said, tomorrow is another day. so get on with it. think positive, go hour by hour, day by day. you can and will do this. one set back is not the end of the world. giving up is and i know you are not giving up.
