than allow me: you are going to be 100% fine you are going to go in there and get banded and come out with a new attitude you are going to be great and lose weight and inches. you got this. all the best

why are you reading on horrible experiences? why not read about successful banders instead. all surgeries (including going to the dentist or whatever) can have risks. do you not trust your surgeon? or his staff? i see no reason why you need reassurance. why worry about things that (could or could not happen). it doesnt solve anything and honesty only causes more stress. the what if's in life is meaningless and pointless. instead of going what if it slips or it erupts or it whatever's........how about going and thinking and saying to yourself, what if it works?? doesnt that sound better?? i sure think so. relax and let yourself get healthy

61 And Just Got My Surgery Date!
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to kyrasgrandma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
no reason to be scared bella lynn this is your chance to make yourself well and healthy. this is a wonderful day and a wondeful thing. focus on the positive (i know the pre ops are hard but they are there for a reason). i am so happy for you -
all doctors are different. some say you can have some (only in moderation) some say sure its not a problem (some like mine prefer me not to have any). so on my pre op, i was de-caffiened) and since surgery, i now drink half decaf coffee and (occasional half sweet/half unsweet tea). it doesnt bother or affect me too much. but i find i dont miss it. i guess if you want to know why your doctor said no caf, just ask him or the nurse and have them tell you the reasons why. have a great day.

How Do You Get All Your Protein In Besides Eating Meat?
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
at my nutritionist appt (and myself via google) printed off a huge list of foods that have Proteins (its on my fridge) and i get my Protein from those items (beans/chicken/steak/tuna/beef......) i also drink one Protein shake in the mornings (as i am not hungry in the a.m. and also too tight). why he would bless you out is beyond me (unless you are doing like 3 a day shake thing like on the pre/post ops) and then i could understand. so go to google, find a listing of protein rich foods---select and eat to lose weight your doing great. stay positive -
Afraid To Eat.......2 Days Post Op
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to wildrose1966's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
what if's is a fact of life after banding (at least i know it was for me). i drove jean w/bandwagon mad with my questions. that being said, worrying about what will happen or wont happen and if it does happen serves no purpose except to drive you crazy. so stop it. (yes, right now). follow your dr's diet to the letter and sip sip sip and eat slow and your tummy will do just fine. you are very much healing and will be for a few more weeks. dont rush it. take your time and lastly, think positive. you are doing super fantastic -
on my 2nd day at work w/o my pc.....our IT dept is working on it and i am at (another pc) and i dont have all my contracts/insurance/templates etc......all the while, i will focus on being positive (when i want to run down the hall yelling)

First Day Of Diet ... Omg Help!!!
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to vmarlau's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes its hard i had to so 2 week pre and post op liquids, so i know what you are going through dont cheat as you are only hurting yourself. you may get responses from people saying its ok and it dont matter but you know what, it does matter. eating before you suppose to after surgery could harm you so get into that mental frame of mind now for me, the first 4 or 5 days was the hardest and then it wasnt so bad. if you want to do this, you can. -
Sx On 9/10/12, Cheated Already!!
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to SandraO's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i find that success rate kinda low but i guess it depends on what article you happen to be reading i know many success stories of banders on this and many forums. to be successful, you need to help the band 98%. not all none successes are the bands fault. its people not following the band diet. so here goes with bad, dont hate me, you know your suppose to follow the dr's instructions to help you heal. like the other poster, its over but dont forget it, learn from it and do better. you wanted this surgery so now you need to do in order to make yourself well. yes, we are all human but i dont know what you ate, heck it may not have even been that bad. i too had hernia repair and could only get down 2oz of liquid. since i have healed, i am about at 4 or 5. you need to remember, cheating on your diet and mine got us to where we needed the band anyhow. you need to heal. hang in there. -

i agree, lets not be one of them but i admit, that 30 more cents to supersize was easy for me to get more mcfries and the Snacks are soo good and so chap also and frankly alot easier than making and preparing an actual meal. fast food is just that, fat but the above is my take. i related to that but not anymore thanks for sharing -
mine just says lapband w/plication no nsaids no blind tubing got mine from laurens hope (and on prior page) i put a pic of mine on here def wear it every day

Psychologist Questions?
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to desertrose92's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my visit lasted about 30 min he asked was i able to follow the dr's rules and the nutritionist instructions (in regards to diet/exercise). (i am sure there are people who will say anything to get this surgery and this dr told me that and asked was i one of those). I said no way. just go in there, relax, answer the questions. you will be out of there in no time. all the best to you -
yes, i get them (i call them baby hiccups) its a sign (to me) that i am full and its time for me to stop eating (also a sign to slow down eating or the bite was too big) dont know if this helped

failure is just (your mind thinking too much) you are not a failure..how do i know this you ask. simple-----you already did the hard part (the pre op's, the waiting for insurance, the surgery, the entire process) and now you are banded. all you need to do is eat the right things (make great choices, Protein first, veggies, fruit and drink alot and move/exercise when you are able). you are not a failure. and if you keep saying that yourself often enough, you will start believing it. so stop. right this moment. what is past is past and should stay there as it can never return. what you have done or didnt do is not in play. you have today to focus on. and since you are newly banded, you shouldnt be focused on losing weight for the first month as you are healing and the scale will go up and down. follow your doctors orders and heal yourself. not only physically but mentally. look at how far you have come. does that sound like a failure? not to me.
