    Suggestions For Birthday

    a birthday is a birthday and meant for celebrating--so EAT how about one of those (small cakes)? or those singles they make? just because there is cake in the house, doesnt mean its off limits or you have to eat the whole thing. i love angel food cakes (and for my birthday, at work and my hub at home, puts a can of cherry pie filling on it. and again, one piece wont hurt. we are not dieting. we are not afraid of food. live for life.....not living for food

    i dont crave during my tom but my moods range from one extreme to another.. but if i wanted to have a chocolate or a salt, id try to find the healthiest choice i could find remember, and this is what i tell myself, having the band is not a diet. there are no off limits foods. portion control is key if you want something eat it and get over with it ..i feel if you dont, you go into a i want that and now i cant and i am miserable and then what the heck and binge...)

    eating at burger king is what helped make me obese (high fat/fried) fast foods should be used in very sparse moderation (even subway is a better option) the bands helps us eat less but its really up to us to help the band by eating good food. (lean Protein, veggies and fruits)

    am glad you are doing so well and def nothing to be ashamed of in making oneself healthy but, please tell me you are not eating babyfood (adults eat adult foods) also, how are you with eating since you were banded 6 days ago? are you taking it easy? remember you are still newly banded and need to heal and not rush things. please note the band will help you eat less (esp after fills) so those cravings (taco bell, mickey d's) will still be there we can eat what we want but in smaller amounts. its up to us to make good food choices.

    you will get lots of responses to this (great suggestions) the one i will toss at you to catch Believe in yourself so keep in mind your goal (to get surgery) this will not be easy and will test you mentally and physically. you may even read its ok to cheat, it is not. this is only for a short time (the pre/post ops) but will seem like a lifetime. i wish you all the best
  13. like the other poster, could be but i am not sure when i am the most (tight in the mornings) i am not hungry and (feel like i am full) this is just my opinion and i hope it helps you. you are very swollen and need to heal. (i had hernia repair and was very swollen but did not feel (pressure) take care

    allow me to chime in here i asked my surgeon this...but keep in mind that i only ride b**** and hub drives he said i can ride (when i want) and if it hurts (like with sex or exercise etc) stop/dont i know this doesnt help but it all i can offer

    Eating If You Don't Feel Hungry?

    this is how i see eating or not eating... (think about a baby) a baby will eat when hungry but turn their head from bottle when full just try and get as much protein as you can per day as this is what feeds us now.

    that is correct 100%. it was the hardest thing i ever done. i also have lost vast amounts of weight in the past (without surgery) but due to health reasons and me up near 350, i had to make a decision to ask for help am so glad that i did. i am so thankful those who think the band is easy, just dont understand what goes into it you just hang in there and keep doing a great job

    Newbie On This Journey

    all the posters gave great (tips) i also use a (salad/bread/side) plate i put my fork down between bites (chew alot and Protein is in very little pieces) i drink all day long i take my Vitamins daily and drink a Protein shake every morning i dont eat processed items, or fast food all my food is measured to 3 or 4 oz and kept in fridge so i can get to it easily like the one poster said, its pretty easy. just help the band by eating to live and not living to eat

    Pre Surgery Diet

    yes so make sure you are getting your protein in (its your fuel and will keep you going) i am not sure if you are on all liquids or not...but it gets easier and it will be so worth it

    sounds like you are healing the more i healed, the hungry returned (but that was just me) protein, drink those shakes (especially if you on liquids still) just keep doing what you are doing and stay positive and focused you are doing so well

    Emotional Eater Needing Help!

    oh my gosh i am so happy the baby is fine now, we all struggle with wanting to eat when things are stressful i know that was the case for me food made me feel better, it doesnt laugh at me or ask a million questions... i would suggest giving yourself a time out take a bubble bath grab a good book drink a Protein shake if you feel you need to eat but stay true to yourself you are way more stronger than you give yourself credit for hang in there
