    336 starting weight and 62 BMI and was as wide as i am tall....

    Lap Banders with BMI 50 or higher?

    my BMI was 62 and 336 pounds when i had my lap and surgery...i am also 5'1 and was as wide as i am tall haha...my dr wanted me to have the bypass but i chose the and w/plication SO you CAN lose weight and get your health back with the lap band..

    Diets we used to be on, and why they didn't work

    no (diet) worked due to my compliance sure some worked due to calorie restriction or whatever the case may be..but each time (and there were many that i succeeded it), but each time i started overeating and taking in more calories than i burned off, i gained the weight back (and this last time) to the highest ever weight for me.....the (diets) did not fail......i failed whatever diet based on what i was eating and doing....and what i am doing now works...i eat, i exercise and i accept what it is......me having to do the best i can.

    Hungry

    i get hungry and i eat i know my band limits what i can eat (the amount) so since that is the case, i try to eat as filling/protein rich foods as i can to carry me over......that being said, if i am truly hungry (and not head hunger like terry explained), i eat....eating is not a bad thing...its what we are eating in my opinion. hang in there

    Worries

    you will learn to eat to live and not living to eat...... there is way more to life then eating BBQ and 4th and 5th helpings of food....once you find that you find living again better than eating and feeling sorry for oneself, watch out.......
  23. only you can make the right decision for you...any WLS can work and any WLS can have complications and any WLS is not better than the other....it is a life change....you must eat better, exercise and do what one must do to make oneself well.....the only advice i can offer is whatever surgery you have, follow the dr's instructions on how to use it for best results...as with everything in life, results do and can vary for whatever reasons.........best of luck with your decision.

    Where does exercise fit in?

    got tired reading your daily to do...... please note any movement you do HELPS and it is possible to lose without doing exercise but if you can exercise, it will most def help out more.......to answer your thread question, you MAKE time..you find it.....10 min here or there (walking, marching in place, stepping)......you are worth it Killi...let me ask you do you have laundry every day? Do you vacuum and clean the cat box every day? Those are chores that seem to me aren't done every day...but they are also labor intensive chores that you could turn into exercise if you wished. Pump up the volume, put more clothes in the basket or a weight and carry it at a good clip up and down the stairs while the wash is washing walk up and down the stairs a few times. While your vacuuming do a little dance give your self some love...beep bop a loo ba...you can do this! Dishes cooking all these things can be made fun and high energy! No reason to be stressing it. Park that car far from the door I know it's cold in the morning but hey a brisk walk will get your blood pumping! When your on that 30 minute break eat for 20 and then take a walk around the building inside or out up and down if you got some stairs. You don't have to sit and do 101 crunches or 50 dead lifts to be exercising you just have to want to move your body!! Once you do you will be motivated to do more and more and find more and more time for it and you. OK so you say...ah what does she know....I have 5 kids, one who is special needs so I know! I work full time 9 hours a day and it takes me nearly 2 hours to get here and get home at the end of it. I am out of my house more then 12 hours a day, my chair has a buzzer that alerts my boss every time my butt lifts from the chair. Only kidding..but it feels like it most days. He's only looking for me when I'm not in it don't cha know?! You can do it, play a game of tag and chase the little guy around the house! He will sleep better and so will you! You can do this!!!
