    eating too much fast foods, high calories/high fat processed foods and not moving... i was the one who chose to eat alot of foods and sit on my ass..that is how i gained weight
  2. normally i write about alittle (silly) success story. today, i got a really good success story. last night i saw clay aiken in a christmas concert. LOVED IT the parking deck is next to the concert hall and its 5 levels. we parked on the 4th level. i am writing to let you know that i walked DOWN and after the show UP 4 flights of stairs. did you read that? me who couldnt walk 10 feet without dying and gasping for air was going down and then up stairs... yes it hurt that last little bit but i kept going. 5 months ago, there would not have been a chance in hell that i could have done that but you know what, i can now wanted to share. thanks for reading.

    Omg

    the band wont stop you from filling hungry (nor will a fill) it will help you eat less if you are hungry, eat a Protein filled food. Proteins will help you stay full longer (it does for me and i have no fills yet) also, drink alot. it could be head hunger but if you are hungry eat. just eat smart. just my thoughts/opinions.

    a positive attitude is key in my book. (the other posters gave excellent advice that if followed will make you a success).
  6. i had this also (and asked my dr about taking immodium ad) and i could and it def helped as did taking a probiotic to help...you can very easily get dehydated so you MUST sip alot to not get that way. fluids in and fluids are coming out. btw, i have a change of clothes here at work from june so i understand.

  8. i am not hungry in the mornings (and kinda tight) so i drink me a delicious protein shake that ties me over til lunch time all people are different so you get lots of different answers. do what works for you.

    i agree with the above posters..those items you listed do not fill you up and i find if you eat more filling foods, you will stay fuller/satisfied longer. and only 2 weeks post op, you should be on or just finishing up liquids and going into mushies..is this on your dr's instructions for post op?

  12. i am not physically able to walk 30 miles a week (yet) or zumba nor do i have any fills (yet)......please be thankful/grateful that you are able to do this. i read your post and wanted to be able to do even alittle bit of what you are. it may seem like you are not losing per the scale, but by being active and being healthier then you were leads me to believe you are doing just fine. just because the scale doesnt show a loss, it does not mean you are not losing.
  13. we have a nice dodge durango..but for the last year or so, it was hard for me drive it....i am short so i have to scoot my seat up to the steering wheel...and my belly/girth would not let me get near the steering wheel so i had to scoot the seat back and then i couldnt reach the pedals...but i could drive it without the seat belt and so if i did drive it, it was to the walgreens near my house and it was not very often let me tell you. so today, my car that i drive to work (didnt start as hub said we need a new battery) so i had to drive the durango....i was nervous because i knew i could not wear the seat belt. i got in *prepared for the worst* and scooted the seat up to where my feet would reach and pulled the seat belt and snapped that sucker in.. i felt like a normal person..instead of the usual fat lady. so that is my little success...nothing major....but i drove to work in my truck with my seat belt on and it fit comfortably and not cutting off my circulation....another sign that i am going in the right direction. hope you are too.

    am glad you are going to call the nutritionist. but being not quite 2 weeks post op, i dont think nuts should be what you are consuming. you are still healing. eating too much or too fast or too soon can cause you (sick to your stomach). you need to be sipping as much and as often as you can...def get that protein in as that is your fuel at this point in time...you really shouldnt be concerned about (counting calories) as much as getting in the nutrients you need so early after surgery. ...as you heal (as maddy pointed out) you will start to get more hungry as the swelling goes down.

    The Real Way To Break Free From Overeating

    i loved this article and from being a past dieter (success and always failure) i can so relate......so what has made me stop overeating? having this tool, great support friends on here and having WANT power. i want to lose weight and get healthy so i am doing what i have to in order for that to happen. ((including overeating)). no excuses. no drama. just getting her done....
