    yes, it sounds like because you are swollen. your are very early out..also, from my own learning experiences early on, drinking too fast/sipping too much caused discomfort. i was 2 weeks liquid post op, then 1 week mushy and then 1 week soft and then as tolerated..... bee welll

    my dr told me to wait 1/2 hr hour if you are really thirsty, see nothing wrong with taking a sip or two.. def was a new habit i had to develope. bee well

  11. well, i feel that way also (wanting to help) but when i was over 300 pounds, i knew it and did not want anyone telling me what to do or offer advice. as if i would have listened. i would not have been offended but embarrassed and would have literally died more on the inside. bee well

YOU got this. go to that party and (drink your things you can drink). dont think of what you cant have.....but think of what you are doing...imagine for a moment how fabulous you are gonna look next year at this party.....YOWSAY bee well

    i am sorry, i disagree. this forum is a great support unit. i joined in feb and have had nothing but support/friendship from just about everyone. i dont forget anything about myself about being over 300+ pounds and not being mobile and other things like that. i know how hard it was and how hard it is every single day. i think of that every day and that makes me try harder. i dont accept anything less than that. i eat better foods in smaller amounts and i move my ass as much as i can. i dont live by the daily scale weigh in drama, i go by how my clothes are getting looser and how much better i can move i have want power. dont believe in will power ****i want this bad enough to do something about it besides whining. any wls has good or bad. there are risks to all surgeries...every dr should have told patients it can or cant work. its not a guarantee. you cant just have the surgery and wake up at 100 pounds. i also disagree that the band is useless. it is useful to me as i listened to what my dr said in regards to how to use it and what to do (to help the band) by eating/exercising etc and also not to expect overnight miracles. but in some cases, it doesnt work....but give it a try before you knock it. and to TMF WTF comment...that was a point alot of new banders saying how and what do i eat, just banded a day or a week or a month and the band is failing and its hard, alot of whining truthfully and he hit it on the head. WTF.. its frustrating when people do not seem to listen to their doctors or realize you must let your body heal and that you (yeah me too) has to work at losing weight by eating and not starving. sorry it did not work for you. i wish it would have as i know how hard being overweight is. bee well everyone.

    so go by what their dr's scales say some go their home scale i weigh once a month at my dr's office. that works for me. .bee well

    i eat when i am hungry. and i make sure its (filling/protein filled) and i find drinking alot helps my hunger. bee well

    thank you very much as jean m says, the dr will give me fills when i need them..they will be my insurance policies i am really trying hard..and focus on my band 24/7. it is my life. with eating good, healthy foods in my alotted amounts and exercising as much as i can.. just using my dr's instructions as best i can...i dont weigh but once a month and go by how loose my clothes are..... just hang in there ok?

    i am 6 months post op with an empty band (no fills) i use portion control and eat like i am filled to the brim... and they do put alittle primer in the band at surgery so its not bone dry. fyi to the old timers, keep posting as i read it

    What to bring with you to the hospital

    def chap stick , easy on and off shoes and ez clothes.....toothpaste/brush.....some say bring a pillow etc....i also brought my ole man bee well and congrats

    It is hard to log into LBT these days

    larger people (like me) have more to lose and we sometimes lose faster/more then ones who dont have 100+ to lose (especially at the begining). dont seem fair huh.. we are all different. i am sure you would not have wanted to start out at my weight...and life for me is not all happy and go lucky... just because i lost more then joe blow doesnt make me better or vice versa. i have alot to lose and a long way to go so i have to keep trying hard. and if you have lost and you have, and are eating well and def exercising (hell i cant even do anything you are). .be proud of yourself and i guaran--damn-t--it that you are and have lost inches and that is amazing and what counts. keep doing what you are doing. you are doing good. bee well

    (that sloshy feeling in your stomach) also helps in letting you feel full so you dont eat as much. (at least it does for me). def better to not eat pre packaged foods (as its high in sodium) and that is my opinion only. i agree that eating more Protein will help you feel fuller for longer. make ahead of time and have it ready in the fridge......same with Snacks. high protein (cheese is good but needs to be in small amounts). eat to lose weight. hang in there. (sorry about your hub. my son is active duty air force) bee well
