How is it possible to eat 60-70 grams of protein ?!
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to SecretBander's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i drink a protein shake in the mornings with FF milk.....so the protein is 28 grams per 1 scoop and 8 grams w/the milk........a great way to start out my protein intake for the day..i aim for 80+ per day..some days its more and some days its less....my doctor does not consider it a slider and i do not rely on the shake for my main protein intake....i eat protein rich foods (meats/beans etc).....that is what one does when they have WLS.....you eat better quality foods...... -
at 20 months out, if i eat too fast or maybe a little too much, this happens to me...in my opinion, its a way for my body to say slow the freek down...if over concerned, call and discuss with the dr or nurse

I am not sticking with my pre op diet and my surgery is on March 20th
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to lynz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my dr told me that if my liver was not nice and small that he would not do the surgery....that scared the crap out of me.....picture me waking up and him telling me that, and then telling my hub and then having to reschedule it all? all because i could not follow a diet for me to have WLS..... i am doing some tough love you can do this pre op diet if you truly wanted to you are not even giving yourself a chance.....its not going to get easier....you must adhere to understanding that from now on and especially right after surgery, if you eat more than you are suppose to you could harm yourself.....your life is worth more than a quick minute or two food gasm GF......look what its doing to you now.... as TMF said, call and and let your doctor know (accept responsibility) and then follow the rules until surgery and after.....for best results with any WLS, its is BEST to follow your doctors instructions.....best of luck. -

lizzie what a great post/thread....you are absolutely right eating alittle something every now and again is not a bad thing it was good...it was delicious and life does go on..... all of us with a weight problem got that way by eating more calories than we burned off....i did not wake up one day and boom it was there.. and now that i am losing weight/inches, my eating has def changed...the WLS i have will only let me so much so i am making better choices..i am not perfect and i do eat this and i do eat that but i always make sure to get right back on track....just like you did......ATTA girl..

yesterday, hub and i went to visit dad in law who is in hospital (again) and it is a large f**king one and so when you park, you walk.......and i walked to and fro this building and up and down hallways....i count every step and then i met up with susan powter and my 4 inch step box and ole girl worked it out.......i lifted my knees higher each time and i stepped farther back from the bench.....(little things) add up...... i am just happy i can do it........

Compliments...the good, the bad and the ugly
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to chasingadream's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
you morphed into a healthy beautiful woman who was there all along...just hid underneath all the past dieting BS and low self esteem and unworthy to be living......you are a success NOW because YOU my dear made the decision to do something about it instead of woe is me....(i speak from the heart and from my own experiences GF).....you deserve every sweet/nice thing gave to you....accept it and say thank you........head up......shoulders back, high heels on and WORK IT GIRL........never look back...... -

☠carolinagirl☠ replied to Kaceyellen1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
just go and have a good time being with your friends..dont over think it...the band is merely to help us eat less...what matters is the choices we make and what matters in this case...is you and your friends.....have a GREAT time. -
"Lap Bands are becoming obsolete"
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to Deb 57's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was at a seminar with my lap band dr last night.....and he said the new (surgery everyone wants) is the sleeve.....and before that it was the band and before that it was the bypass.....who knows what will be next....with the band, you do have to keep checking in with the dr and i am okay with that......some other surgeries, maybe not so much..its a persons choice/decision. any WLS can help a person and they should get the surgery that works for them..and any WLS can have complications..it is major freeking surgery and def not a easy way out....i choose the band and my dr added the plication to assist my super BMI of 62.....he stressed to me and again last night that unless a person changes what they eat and begins to move, no WLS will work.....and i believe that... -
some people who are larger can lose faster than those who are not as large...so do not let that get you down.....if you are losing inches, you are losing no matter what the blasted scale says or does not say......are you eating more calories than you are burning off? if so, you will not lose no matter what WLS one has......hang in there okay..

☠carolinagirl☠ replied to fatty2hottie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was so (obese) i had to ask my dr if he was sure he put mine in there.....i can see it now (just a slight outward blip).....i refer to it as my battle scar.. my winning over the war of super morbid obesity.. it was sore/tender for about a month (the larger port scar) -
