Exercising but the scale is not budging!?!

if you take in more calories then you burn off, you will gain or not lose. sounds like you are doing great with the exercising so keep it up. even if the scale is not moving, i promise the band is working..(i dont use a scale, so i go by how lose my clothes are to see that its working). great job all around

Sick in so many ways, need a female's advice.

am scared for you and i am also very sorry you are dealing with this. your life, your health is what matters...and i know from reading posts on this forum, that stress can make you un-hungry, and the and tight etc..def stay in contact with your dr (both pcp and your lap band dr) yrs ago, when i was having intense pain, i kept going to the er as it hurt so bad..finally one night, hub told them you are keeping her til you fix her (turns out i needed emergency gallbladder surgery)..like the one poster said, stay on them..its your life and your health.

    anxious, scared and doubting myself

the most difficult thing one can do is remain the same and watch their life make them so unhappy that they didnt want to live. that was me 8 months ago. i was a diet pro (i can say i am now happily retired) and i lost and gained i would guess 200+ pounds...to me, failure means to not try...this surgery will help you lose weight (as long as you adhere to the band life)..once you understand its not a miracle cure all, you will find you can do anything you put your mind to..even if you dont think you can. there is nothing wrong with taking small bites and chewing alot (finally taste the food instead of inhaling it so fast as to move on to the next plate)...yes, if you change how and what you eat, you will be successful...dont focus on what was.............focus on what can be
  7. off to the movies and dinner with hub....

  13. just keep walking and moving..it will eventually move its way out..def stay ahead of the pain with the meds if it helps..i know it doesnt seem like it, but it does get better each and everyday. congrats on your surgery. ps, great job on letting your dr know you were hurting. that is what you should do and you sent a great message to people by writing that.

    i lost 64lbs in just 2 months

your loss is amazing and i am proud of you..you keep going and i got a long way to go also but as long as we get there, it doesnt matter how long it takes
  15. to me, to fail mean to stop trying...you are not failing.. i strongly believe that even if it feels the band is not working, it is..just stay with it as missy said.. and so what you arent losing fast neither am i and boy do i every get frustrated..but i just hang in there..the only thing i can offer is be aware of the calorie intake..3500 calories is a pound whether its ate or drank so do try to not take in more than you can burn off. you are a success..believe it.

    Medifast Commercials

yeah i saw them and my hub said we should have made a video at my before and i can tell you i would not have even looked at the camera nor believed i'd lose a pound....and i admit i am having trouble seeing myself in the mirror or a reflection right now but i would have said to the girl on june 6 (the day i had surgery) see what happens when you do what the dr said to do.....

    Social Stigma and Full Disclosure

i can speak from experience that i let (everything) people say or think affect me.. when i had surgery, i told some friends i work with and my hub...i was concerned slightly that my co workers would think, man are you that lazy to eat right that you need surgery? you fat cow, whats wrong with you? what was wrong is i was killing myself...but it has saved my life...i have no doubt. i am doing this for me. dont like...deal with it i am finding me again and i am strong and i am making it work.
  18. I hope everyone has a great day. Stay positive and realize you CAN do this (if you really want to).

    skirt silly

ok, another entry into the silliness category. picture it. I am about 5'2 on a good day. 8 months ago, the skirts I wore to work came to just below my knees. flash forward to present day. my skirts (the ones that I can still wear (the ones with a belt or a cinch section as the rest are toooo big) are now dragging the ground. why is that..how come....am I shrinking? hub gets a big kick on that as I am not that tall as it is and now if i am not careful on some skirts, i could trip myself and fall down a staircase. so the best i can make out is......the skirts had to go around the massive girth called my stomach and hence the shortness of the skirt....now that the massive girth is visiting my inlaws, the skirt length seems to be (growing downward) instead of around-ward (yes making up words as i go). so here i sit, looking at my skirt and going, isnt that kewl..another sign (without using a scale) to show that my band/plication is working.

Do you drink with your junk food?

same here......no drinking while eating (period) nor do i eat junk food...that is what got me over 300 to begin with..

    Bypass or sleeve

to gain weight, one must take in more calories then they burn off as mis and cheryl pointed out, compliance with eating the proper portions and type foods is in effect regardless of what WLS one gets..i think if one says i need to get the sleeve or bypass in hopes they will lose because of the surgery itself, unless a change is made, it wont happen in the long run. have you talked to your surgeon and nutritionist about the foods you are eating?
