    Help my band is outta my control

    agree with AJ def need to see your doctor to rule out anything wrong if you can. maybe they can do a easy pay schedule in regards to the no insurance... point is, you have to take care of yourself and not take no for an answer. and def need to get back to eating better quality foods in the allotted amounts.. to gain weight, you have to eat more calories than you burn off.

    I am ashamed...

    i feel this way and have felt this way. i believe it is absolutely normal. i can sit here and list the things i could not do for 2 yrs because of my size/girth. i do not want to bore you with that..or for anyone thinking i am trying to better them...but i do know, as you do now, that since we are now banded and made a commitment to make ourselves well, our lives is much better and it will continue to get better...what is done is done..its over...sure as heck i wish i could go back and change it....but i cant......and that part of me who struggled at my highest weight, made the person i am right now typing this to you.....just like you are......i am learning from my past and bringing it forward...cant change it so i have accepted it....and accept that for me to change my life, i have to do it. and you know what? i have done that and so have you. my FIL goes into hospital quite often for bad UTI's and currently MIL in hospital for having a mild stroke...so i feel for you.

    **You see on here a lot about "want power". You have to REALLY want this bad. You have to follow the directions your doctor gives you.** words for all to live by and adhere to the banded life

    What does 'full' feel like for you?

    good question, like with life, answers are sure to vary. here is my varience with me having the band and plication, at 1 to 1 1/2 cups of food, its uncomfortable..it doesnt hurt but its a (full) feeling aka thanksgiving dinner...trying to give you an idea...that is my sign its enough and why i stop at my allotted one cup i cant stuff myself as i am too scared and fear hurting myself but now i am 8 months out, i am totally satisfied with the amount i eat...physically and mentally... i try not to over think it..i see that on here alot.... i eat when i am hungry and i eat filling/protein foods.

    to fail means give up and say f**k it you know what you are doing (wrong) so stop and start doing what is right i have said before, when you come to a red light, we know to stop or something bad could happen so we make the decision to stop.....same with food....we can choose to eat good for us food or not so good.......same with sizes....we can choose to stop at our allotted amount or not.. you have more self control than you give yourself credit for. so help yourself. you know what to do. so do it.

    to gain weight you have to eat more calories than you burn off. aj, texas princess is right, a nutritionist appt could help you even if to do a restart your weight loss is great...dont let this one slight set back bring you so down.

    i have a pic, i posted on here.........of my hub and myself wearing a skirt (we both were in it) that i was wearing 8 months ago...talk about a motivation picture...i have some before i havent shown anyone...i will show you if you want if that makes you feel better.....but you cant go moo

    I need help

    i did a 2 1/2 week pre op all liquid..dangum right its hard..my dr told me if my liver wasnt small enough he would not do the surgery...that made me not cheat....i am sorry you are struggling, but if you cheat now, please note its not helping you..if you cheat on post op, you could hurt yourself....sf popsicles saved me....and i drank alot.....my suggestion is stay busy, take a walk, start blogging, read, take a bath, but stop cheating.....

    Doctors offices

    i work with the public (via phone alot) and when i am pms'ing or fussing with whatever (like hubby not taking trash out) or me just in a plain ole bitchy mood, i admit i can come across like you described...its not right and shame on her for freaking..i myself would have waited patiently and then just laid on so much sugar, it would make the sugar bowl take a time out...just honey them sweetheart..

    Tighter Isn't Always Better

    reading about people who (keep it super tight) is kinda scary. i mean do we keep it so tight so we lose weight fast while we cant drink or eat and so on or do we go lose so we can eat properly and help the band? i choose the latter. and if i am slower to lose, so be it..at least i am not hurting myself. and frankly i have hurt myself enough over the years.

    i am wanting to get healthy (for me) and i know (me) feeling better about (me) makes (me) a happier person...i am beyond blessed with a southern good ole boy who for whatever drugs he took in high school affected him enough to love me at 150 when he married me to the 336 hefer i was 8 months ago.. i remember my vows, for better or worse...i had the worse, am working on the better now

  19. well aint you sweet to comment on me like that. i struggle daily with my insecurity but have just made up my mind to do what i have to do...mere (months) ago i was over 300....up near linebacker size on a pro football team and i am a short sh**.....girl i was as wide as i was tall that is my motivation. that is what makes me say, you know what, you are so doing this...my little granddaughter wants her meme to walk around the block with her or go shopping....i want to be able to walk through a store again and fasten my seat belt. i want to live longer. if i divert off course, i am only hurting myself. therefore i have to do this. no one else will....so as my ole man told me on my pre op, woman up as you wanted to do this so do what you have to do to make it happen. you can do this. so believe. i believe in you.

    i basically asked my insurance (what they needed) and wrote out a brief synop to my pcd....and also wrote out a detailed info sheet on me for my last 5 to 10 yrs of dieting ups/downs/etc with details. my pcd then wrote her (letter) of recommendation from that....

    Just not loosing anything

    well, a month post op, you are still healing and losing weight really shouldnt be an issue as is letting the insides heal. weight goes up and down all day long for various reasons. to gain weight you must eat more calories than you burn off. only you know that answer...i dont mean to sound mean but if at 1 month post op you are wishing the band was out, you most likely wont do well thinking that way keep doing what you are doing (eating healthy in allotted amounts/drink alot) and focus on inches coming off whether than what the scale says.
  23. as long as we are losing, that is what matters. that is how i see it. even if the scale is not moving (as fast) as we want, if we are doing the right things (eating healthy, exercising) and the inches are coming off, then that is fantastic. what you have lost is amazing. def a success story...its not that I will do this....its me saying i want to do this....that keeps me going each and everyday....well that and to know i used to wear size 30 pants.. hang in there okay.

    Binging & Head Hunger

    i think you have better control of yourself then you think...i was also a binger..heck i even planned mine and herded my family to leave so i could binge..i tell myself, if i come to a red light and its red, am i gonna run it or stop and wait til it turns green? same thing with (binge eating or eating more than my allotted amount). i make the choice to do the right thing....so if you are hungry at night drink and see if that helps...if not, eat something. eat something with Protein (to help you feel full) and enjoy it..(my hub/son loves Snacks goodies too. just because those items are there, they do not have that power over me that i must eat them... so what if they are there. i dont believe in will power... its my want power that stops me from eating that entire bag of lays while watching rupaul drag race).

    Dehydrated!

    if you can drink (coffee which is basically water) i am not understanding why you cant drink water. i agree with that poster to let your doctor know about this. there are all sorts of items to add to water to help mask the taste (i prefer crystal light peach tea) and i drink alot of it (and drinking def helps with me thinking i am hungry)..
