    well of course,,,you just had major surgery so it is gonna be uncomfortable...use the pain meds to help if you want too...as the swelling subsides, your hunger will come back, mie sure did and i counted the minutes til i ate 2 oz of runny a ss oatmeal after 4 1/2 weeks of liquids.....i will remember that always

    Procedure choice

    for years i wanted the bypass...i wanted it quick so when time came for truth, realization, i couldnt do it once they cut, it cant be fixed.....hence my choice to band and plication.

    life happens and it seems to always be something....in the past, i turned to high fat/high calorie foods to soothe me..they didnt talk back and of course i gained massive weight because i took in more calories than i burned off...so now i learned food is not gonna make me feel better even though it would briefly..when stressed, take a walk, take a bath, call someone, read or blog...i feel for you....every time something crappy happens, i think of a huge bag of lays bbq chips..just not worth it.... hang in there

    this is exactly right...the scale goes up all day long. drink 16oz and your up that. pee it out and your down...its crazy to constantly weigh weigh weigh....do it if it helps but if you are constantly focused on that magic number, you are driving yourself crazy. .....100% judge by how loose your clothes are (are they too big)....do you feel better...ounces come and go....inches stay gone

  12. say hello and nice to meet you! i also have tricare and so i can relate. best thing to do is be honest with him and yourself and get the list of pre op's you need (requirements) and begin the journey to better health.

    band+plication on friday march 1st.

    i have the plication along with the band. it def helps me feel (full) quicker. its a wonderful thing but my dr stressed that it was important for me to eat the correct allotted portions, eat good food and exercise. so far, i have no complaints. best thing i ever have done. (ps, i have tricare also). best of luck to you

    feeling like a failure already

    def need to be drinking (alot) or as much as you can...need to stay hydrated so please try.....and this nonsense about not wanting to see the doctor...woman please??? did your doctor know what you weighed at surgery? did he put a lap band in you? if he did, then he knows who you are and what you look like....he will be your best ally is this whole thing...keep him on your side. now if the scale is not moving to your satisfaction, it DOES not mean this whole thing is not working...are your clothes looser? are they too big?? do you feel better (physically)? if you said yes, then that right there is a success in my book regardless of what the scale does or does not say to fail means to give up. are you giving up? if you answer no, then you are NOT a failure.

    Sleeve Forum is wrong about the band

    any WLS has pros and cons. and you will have those pro and those con. it seems the cons are the ones who bit** the most and band bash. hey knock yourself out I say. I am out to prove em wrong. me 8 months post op....no throw up yet. no issues and following the banded rules/lifestyle. *if something was to happen, my dr advised there is no guarantee and I will deal with it at that time so right now I choose to live the life my band/plication gave me back.*

    Any tips for motivation?

    my momentum is a pic my hub took right at my 8 month post op of him and I (together) wearing a skirt I wore. that is both of us in this garish circus tent. yep, that motivates me.

    Help with cold meds

    hey eye candy did not know my girl was sick...(got your card here at work with me BTW, its awesome) i asked my doctor that as i get bad allergies (yeah i know drama queen) and he recommended liquid tylenol for all that.......i actually buy the cvs or walmart brand dayquil, allergy stuff because its way cheaper. ...hope you feel better booboo

  22. i am not a broken record but i guess i will sound like one, copying missys comment if something hurts call the doctor. because to my knowledge, no pain what so ever should come from the lap band.

    Weight gain

    no need to get discourage as it doesnt solve anything. so you havent gained, GREAT so you havent lost, not so bad.. to lose weight, you have to eat less calories than you burn off. are you doing that? only you know.

    still getting hungry....

    well, i get hungry between meals and when i do, i drink something to see if am truly hungry or am i just bored or it is because i see my ole man snacking on a bag of lays chips......and if i am hungry, i eat....i choose to eat filling/protein filled foods as they help keep me full longer..you can try that...
