    How do YOU define Success?

9 months ago, i could not hardly walk. i wanted to have this surgery to be able to push my granddaughter around the block in her stroller...now i can..that to me is success......my success
  2. Nobody gets to live life backward. Look ahead, that is where your future lies.”

  3. whichever you get, i wish you the best. keep in mind, no matter what WLS, unless a mindset is changed and one changes their eating (from cheap fast food) to better quality and in the allotted amounts, it wont work.....no one is better than the other surgery.just having WLS is not a sure thing one will lose weight and never never land happens....what makes a WLS successful is the person who has it and follows the guidelines and gets on with life...

    calories and exercise

i believe in inches lost a better (way to view losing weight) sure its great to see the scale move but sometimes with TOM, sodium contents etc, the scale dont budge and even gains (hark/gasp)......so if you doing what you write (eating and exercising) and you are and have lost inches (and you will know by your clothes).....then you have lost......i seriously think that is fantastic and a way to tell for sure if the band is working......only you know that answer.

Have lost 67lbs so far but....saggy

47 yrs old here in nc.. short and saggy and glad for it....as mis said, clothes can hide some of the saggy but what matters is my heart is healther, my body is lighter and i will take some sag over obese any day.....think of the positive instead of the negative. would you rather be what you were......instead of what you are now??

    repeat

you didnt fall off the wagon, you just took a day or two off.......do better now and dont worry about the rest....you have a life time to make yourself well...there is no time limit to get to your goal weight....one day at at time.

    At my Wit's End

i wish i could say something to make it easier but the only thing i can think of to say is you continue to do your thing and set the example of how its done. he is a grown man/adult and will do whatever he wants no matter what you say or do..heck aint we all that way? he knows what he is doing (per what you wrote) and until he decides to stop, he wont.. so you just do the best you can do with yourself and hopefully your wonderful success will encourage him to do better....we can lead a horse to Water but cant make him drink until and unless he wants too.

    Pre op

stay positive..realize the pre op (is only for a short while although it seems like forever)...drink alot, stay busy and for heavens sake, believe in YOU.
  10. the swelling is what is giving you the (full) feeling. i know that is how it was with me. ...as the swelling goes down, here is where your eating your allotted amounts and better food choices come into play.....TMF was right though, so soon after surgery is a tender time, insides needs to heal unless your dr said you are cleared for (reg foods). ....congrats on making a great decision,

    Feeling kind of down...

yes, that is what we call being our own worst enemies. i dont see it and i am sure i am not alone...but you know what, what matters is how far you have come.....so answer me this, would you rather see a now picture of you then a (before) picture? i am sure you are drop dead gorgeous in both, but give your self a break. 75 freeking pounds.....get real and get a grip. you are making it happen......and i guarantee it that person who viewed you picture is going, damn, she's hot.

    I need some advice...

you need to make this a template and copy/paste on all the threads that ask about this every day.....maybe it will eventually be believed.
  16. ☠carolinagirl☠

Help please. Is my band to tight?

i think if you are vomiting or worried, i'd call the dr and let them know and have them advise you. everyone is different. i am sure its fine but your dr would be best to set your mind at ease. feel better okay.
  17. *keep in mind, no matter what WLS one gets, the DS, the sleeve, the band, the bypass or plication (or band/plication) unless the person adheres to their new lifestyle, it wont work*

    Cleaning House

I came out of the closet yesterday

if i did not have surgery, i would most likely be nearly home bound as it was getting harder and harder for me to walk and i was scared i would be one who was cut out of my house.......the surgery saved my life....if some consider it easy, and they do and they will, are the ones who do not understand it or grasp the reality of it...what should matter is you...you chose this to help you...good for you...those who care are who matters..add me to that list..

I felt like i didnt lose a lot yet

as long as you lose (by inches as well as pounds) it shouldnt matter how long its been since surgery.. easier said then done, but its true.....great job and keep it up..
