  1. i will say each person will experience different results. like with all things in life, things happen, good and bad.........i mean my tarheels aint going to the final four geesh no one can say anything that will change one persons mind when they are convinced it will fail...if you (claim 99.9999% fail) i will say myself is the .000001% that hasnt failed......why? because i took that small risk to save my life....while naysayers quibble on BS so called latest claims of band failures (all the while ignoring its usually the people not complying with how to use it who are the ones writing those claims), i will be all the more closer to my goal weight..

    Sleeping after surgery

while reading your cat post earlier jim, i remember when i went home the next day, i had to do the 2 shots per day in my tummy for blood clots and hub was getting ready to do it (he did them all) and i asked where were he gonna stick me, and he (i guess not thinking) tapped my tummy in the middle where my incision was and it kinda hurt.......i remember i started to tear up and he felt so bad.....oh, well, thought id share a silly (cat) moment

Hi! I'm new to this forum.

a loss is a loss... losing (that amount is good). are you losing inches? are your clothes too big? are you feeling better?...just because the scale is not moving as fast as you would like it to, does not mean you are not doing well. 31 pounds is gone. that is a small child....that is my Doberman's head for heavens sake. take it and keep going...and if you are impatient, you will not be happy in the future as sometimes the scale doesn't move for whatever reasons..let the band work..there is no time limit to lose weight before band explodes. I am proud of you.

    surgery two days ago

keep walking as much as you can to get the gas out...and my shoulder hurt horribly until about day 8 and then it was gone..so even though its tough right now, please know that each day that passes, it does get better. keep sipping, keep moving and you must remain positive and upbeat in regards to this new tool that will help you lose weight.

    Sleeping after surgery

sleeping was not an issue for me. I was able to sleep on my stomach per normal the next day at home. me thinks because of the amount of fat my stomach had, it was protecting the port area. odd ball yet again

Over the counter meds with a Band

agree with Ms Maui and AJ and any others who advise to check/ask your doctor in regards to what type/kinds of medicine you can use. that is best thing.

    Pain

did your dr advise you what meds you can or cant take? from my understanding it is no nsaids but each dr is different. do you have liquid tylenol you can take until you ask your dr what meds you can take

Continuing on......there is alot to this process.

to begin a journey, you have to make that first huge step. you have done so. so keep on stepping forward. this is for you and about you getting well..YOU will meet the requirements and YOU will do what you need to do to make it happen. this is YOU.

BANDED JAN 4th no loss JUST GAIN :(

to gain weight, you must eat calories. 3500 calories is a pound. if you eat or drink that and more, you will gain...to lose weight, you have to eat less calories than you can burn off. nudie is correct, please refer to your nutritionist to see what to eat/not to eat and how to make better choices. (say no to processed foods/fast foods/sodium filled snacks) say YES to lean proteins/veggies and fruit and drink alot........best of luck to you hon.
  25. i would ask your dr as they would be the ones who could offer you better advise in my opionion. alot depends on the person, their physicals, their weight etc...i took 8 days off for a desk job..
