Lap band + 17 day diet?
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to braziliangirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you have a lap band (to help you eat less), why start a diet? just eat your allotted portions (is it 1 cup for you?) and make healthy choices and lose weight that way.... -

THERMOJET BODY WRAPS/ WL
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to supersweet31's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
DO INFRARED WRAPS WORK FOR BELLY FAT? If you want to lose belly fat, you'll have to do it the old-fashioned way, through diet and exercise. Infrared body wraps are a relatively recent entry in the body wrap treatment business. One company claims you might lose up to 8 lbs. and 6 to 20 inches per treatment. Another claims that you can drop a dress size with 10 treatments, which could cost you as much as $1,500 as of March 2011. Instead of paying as much as $1,500 for infrared treatments in an attempt to lose a dress size, you would be better off using the money for a gym membership. The MayoClinic website says that visceral fat buried deep in the abdomen responds well to regular exercise and a healthy diet. Targeted stomach exercises can firm muscles and flatten the belly. Daily exercise at a moderate intensity level is the best way to lose belly fat and the gut may be the area of your body that responds most quickly to healthy lifestyle changes. So there is a tried and true way to lose belly fat but no miracle cures such as infrared body wraps Read more: http://www.livestron.../#ixzz2QYEiNWUq -

in my opinion, weight loss pills are dangerous and therefore you should not take them as you do not need them. if you need energy, eat more Protein and get more rest. -

not sure how liquid going (down your throat) affects the band on the outside of your stomach as this doesnt make much sense. but each doctor/person different. my dr said nothing about coffee (except no caffeine before surgery) and then after, it was fine. if in doubt ask your dr.

Question For Banded Plication People.....
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to mrsto's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have been banded/plicated for 10 months and my (tummy) has not ever hurt with hunger (pains) or growling or otherwise. my tummy hardly ever growls so i cant comment on what your nurse said. i guess as long as everything is okay, that is what matters. -

What to take for general aches and pains?
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to jbandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i buy the CVS/Walmart brand of liquid tylenol to take for aches/pains/PMS...i am scared of taking a big pill so i just stick with liquid.. (i do have caplets in my purse and those go down ok when i do take them). i think its just a preference really. -
What to do for a sugar craving
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to Deed2u's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i dont (crave) sugar although sometimes i crave a few coors lights...... but if i want something sweet, i grab SF popsicles or SF pudding or some fruit -
because of my plication, at about a cup of food, i feel (very full) and i also had had a baby burb that has been with me since i have been banded...it also lets me know.....(i feel the signs are there, people just need to look/listen for them).

24 days post op and I feel I dont need a fill
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to balbuquerque's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
the first 4 to 6 weeks, you are still kinda swollen and speaking for me, i wasnt that hungry and felt (full)...of course that changed and now i eat when i am hungry and am just mindful of my portions and the cal counts. like others who posted, i havent had any fills yet either...just listen to your body and let the doctor know whats going on and then you two decide if/when you need one. congrats on the great weight loss so far. -

Would You Have Weight Loss Surgery Again?
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i would say (yes) my dr wanted me to have the bypass at the beginning due to my size/BMI..but i was scared to death of having my insides cut. i mean once its cut, there is no going back no matter what...i also understood the pro's and con's of each WLS that was being offered to me because i was choosing the lap band, my dr offered me the plication to help aid me. i love my dr because he stressed to me that no matter which surgery i have, unless i did my part, it would not work. so long story short, yes i would have it again. (even after reading all the complications and taking that risk that it could happen to me, i would still say yes). its worth it to walk again...unless you couldnt walk well, you would not understand what i am referring to. -
protein shakes with water????
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to JennaSoto's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have drank my shakes with water, and like madawg said, pop in vitamixer with ice and boom ! -
i am most afraid of my grandbaby being ashamed of me because of what i look like...the insecurity monster is still nearby and all those years of dieting ups and downs and comparing myself to whomever def has took its toll...but she will now be able to see her meme healthier and def more happier. and that is what made me take that final push to do something about it..to be (healthy). not a number on a scale. but to be able to push her around the block in her stroller. i can now.

Frustrated with Fills. What is normal?
☠carolinagirl☠ replied to Ray in NC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i dont think (there is a normal) each person is different and will experience different things...def read the link mis provided as it is explains alot.....you have lost alot, that is great news. and just because the scale is not moving as fast as it was (or to your liking) doesnt mean you are not doing well... good job. -
