extra push.......lets see you lost 47 pounds so far that is 9 five pound bags of potatoes or sugar that is a success in my book failure my butt......success = YOU you know what to do, so do it eat right...eat your allotted amounts fresh veggies/protein/fruit and drink and get on with it... dont look at what you (think you did bad) think of all you did exceptionally WELL

Thought i knew what i wanted...

any WLS is good. any WLS also has pros and cons. any WLS can have complications but no matter what surgery one gets, they need to remember, its not a guarantee or a miracle to lose weight just because its WLS. whichever you decide to get, research, read, ask questions and keep in mind, the more you do to (help) the surgery, the better your success is. best decision i ever made hope it is yours also

working out a diet post - op

no need to diet. eat your allotted amounts (eat fresh veggies/fruit and lean protein) drink alot and move (any exercise).....its working...you just need to help it..and just because you can overeat doesnt mean you should...hang in there.....and ANY lose counts...no matter the number. tex is right, move it..

When do you workout and why?

well 2 days a week, at a local little dance studio, its low impact step aerobics..just me walking in there was major.....a big big step and a big accomplishment from someone who spends her life worried about people judging her..and so what if i am the (biggest one) but you know what...i am there and i am doing it......and the other days, i use a susan powter dvd of step aerobics..its 45 min and i am heading toward week 3 since i started doing exercise (other than walking)..it feels great.....its 100% mental game....i either do it or i dont.....there is no in between...... thanks for taking time out to respond to me
  9. having it filled so tight is not good and dangerous.. and having it sooo tight, you can only i am guessing, sip/drink high cal drinks or manage sliders.....that being said, eating more calories than you burn off will make you gain weight.....i agree with the two posters, def get a 2nd option or revisit the doctor about checking out if the band has slipped, it may not have..it maybe something as easy as you getting back to eating your allotted amounts and watching you calorie intake vs outake. i have plication but my dr stressed that if i didnt change my eating, no WLS would help me...i happen to believe that and agree with that statement...anyhow, def get a xray under fluro done to check the status of your band....i wish you all the luck.

    Don't You Ever Compare!!

what a wonderful post......and very much needed on this forum...i compare myself daily and its only hurting ME..like you said, we all are different....we lose different, we see things different, we are different but as long as we continue to lose (that works for us and our bodies) its all good... GREAT post my sistah sharon ps- our 1st year is approaching.....can you believe it already??

    confused with post-op diet

if your doctor did not give you a post op (diet) to follow, you need to call them and see about getting one...i am with tom, hard to believe any dr would just leave you out there hanging.....also, a big help would be to call a nutritionist to speak to to (refresh) you on what to eat and how much.....jackie and tom made some excellent points....just remember if you eat more calories than you burn off, you will not lose and quite possibly gain......WLS or not...... best of luck to you.

    Staples out tomorrow

kinda figured that is what you meant... a def relief though...
  13. i eat about a cup or cup and a half food tops.... after surgery, you are healing and swollen and not as hungry but it returns sounds as if you are eating decent....keep on the lean proteins/veggies/fruit and keep drinking....even if the scale is not moving as fast as you'd like, doesnt mean your not losing..if you are losing inches, your losing

Coming back to work after the surgery

i work at a desk job, and took a total of 8 days..i was very tired on my return for 2 days but it does get easier...just go at your own pace and you will know when you need to rest. all the best
  22. you just (start). as TMF said, no diet needed. eat better foods (non processed is best, eat fresh veggies/fruit and lean proteins) leave fast food where it belongs.....and drink alot ......and exercise...you just do it....that is what i did..i either wanted to lose weight or not this time......i failed horribly in my past (dieting) and always gained it back by eating the wrong types of food and in huge amounts.....it boiled down for me to want power.....did i want to lose weight bad enough to stop making excuses and do what i had to do.....i guess we all got to decide that for ourselves. all the best.
