    What do you do instead of "Going out to dinner"?

    walk in a park, shopping, movies, go to nice bar or outside cafe for a drink (or two) or got to a movie, walk the mall, go fishing, go go-karting, swimming or the library or whatever you want.....eating is not a bad thing...nothing wrong with it..its something we all do....so eat smart and make the best choices you can when you go out..one (not so great or a bad meal) wont make you gain 100 pounds overnight nor will eating only lettuce and a side of olive oil make you lost 20 pounds overnight...its day in and day out..dont overthink it...be with your whomever on date night or family night and enjoy (that).....being with the one you love........including yourself.....

    What the heck do you eat?!?

    what do i eat? whatever i want there are zillions of choices some better than others its up to us to use common sense and make better choices (leave the its too hard, or i am too busy to the curb).. eating from a box or fast food or processed items is what got me super morbid obese in the first place...it sure does taste great and every once in a while i have some but i normally focus on eating lean Proteins, veggies and fruit...and eat when i am hungry..and not just think i am...so listen to your body, eat clean and enjoy the process of getting healthier..dont overthink it...3500 calories ate or drank whether its potato chips or cucumbers and if you take in more calories than you burn off, no matter what WLS one has, they will not lose weight. myself personally, i do not eat bread, rice or Pasta or potatoes but i do have 12 french fries every friday..why do i not eat that? because it is not feeding my body and making me (feel full).....eat to live and not live to eat..

    well speaking for myself, i tend to make tidal waves out of a slight wave..i think you do need to relax..continue to exercise..continue to eat clean *leave the processed/boxed items on the shelves at the store*, eat fresh fruits, veggies and lean Proteins..i think you need to look at yourself and see where you are now and you are sitting pretty on a healthier weight..... i do not have to go to my dr except as needed.....that being said i go every month because i want to and i like knowing where i stand and let them know i am okay...i get an xray under fluro every 3 months to be sure all is well..its called being responsible and that my dear is exactly what you are .......besides being gorgeous...and you are in control of yourself..you are controlling what you put into your body (eating wise) and the WLS is helping you say when..what a great thing. now chin up, shoulders back, slide those tootsies into some high heels and work it girl and encourage those on this forum who need it...as you are a success story..proud of you..

    You're so vain...

    i truly wanted this surgery to walk (i could hardly walk and was having issues reaching around the grand canyon with my short arms).......and then as the weight started to come off and i was able to wear tight jeans, low cut tops and my high heels again, it was about me looking better because i was feeling better and sexier.....just this past weekend, we had a biker bday party, i wore a black lace top and a red bra and hub said oh no your not and i said oh yes i am..... confidence oozes sexy........and if you feel pretty, it makes a world of difference......vain, who cares i wasted 3 yrs being obese....now i am just living ♥

    Reallly?

    you wanted this surgery, so do what you have to make it work.. you just have major surgery sweetheart.....taking that one bite could harm your insides one moments food gasm is not worth any injury you went through alot to have this WLS you wanted to lose weight and get healthy WLS is not a cure alln and believe it or not, its not easy.. you have to make an effort to eat better, exercise and live life first off, any WLS can and does have a chance of complications but doesnt mean you will second and finally not least, you are mentally stronger than you know..you think you cant do this and if you keep thinking that, you will not ever lose weight...i could hardly walk at time of my surgery because i was super morbid obese....i could hardly wipe my ass...so i been there and done that enough pity party.....woman up (as my ole man told me once on a pre op day whining) and make yourself well.......your doctor gave you a excellent tool to help you....follow their instructions for best results ps, i spent the first 10 or 11 months w/no exercise and just eating as advised and lost a lot...hint hint] pps YOU can DO this......yes you CAN and if i didnt think you could i would not have answered this post..     Emotions + eating

    what i found is true..in regards to me..i was leader at TOPS for many years and we recited a pledge at the beginning of every meeting *even though i over eat in private, the excess poundage is there for the world to see* how true is that food and (beer for me) was a comfort..it made m feel better it also got me super morbid obese....i gave it total power/control over me i learned on my pre and post op liquid diets that i would NOT starve nor would i die and that head hunger is TRUE and most of the time i over ate because i was bored and it was there.. i CHOSE to have a WLS to help me lose weight as i cant do it on my own was a yo yo dieter for my entire adult life.....so when i made that decision to undergo a major surgery.....i CHOSE to make sure i did what i could (eat/exercise when i was physically able to) and be honest with myself......no hiding behind i am hungry BS so to eat now is to feed my body eating is a wonderful thing..i love it...i relish it....i cant wait to eat but the food i eat now is to nourish my body .....gone are the instant food gasms and my dieting woe is me drama....i eat and i dont dwell on it.. make smart choices..there are zillions of options....not all good.....we choose....and i choose now to say, i am not letting food have that control over me..... its not easy...but when you cant wipe your ass (as was me in 2012)..you decide quick

    i am with you on the skin part jim and it has got me down alot but it is what it is at the moment and sometimes peoples comments do hit a target deep inside us...i know it does with me...and though they meant maybe in a good way, we take it the wrong way.....at least i know that is the case for me.. i am soooo proud of you jim....you know that you were one of the first people to ever say hey to me on this forum (you and TMF to be exact) and for all this time, the friendship and support is and was there....you do not know how much that means to me...miss insecurity herself..

    everyone has a ass hole....and apparently this lady had a serious case of diarrhea of the mouth that day...just remember to always rise above what people say and the no comment back to such things to me speaks volumes....well done on the weight loss GF.....i think i was a size 4 once in my mom's pregnant stomach .........oh the memories

    Average loss?

    people who are larger can lose faster at the beginning of any WLS.....i have no idea why but that is how it was with me..it slows down and then some wonder what is wrong...nothing is wrong...a loss is a loss......now that i am not dropping flies like raid spray does i began to wonder what am i doing wrong? ......truth is, nothing is wrong...some days, some weeks, some months, we will lose more or not at all.......i accept it now as a loss.....whatever it may be, it counts and that is the name of the game, to lose weight.....steadily, healthy and living our lives.........congrats on the super loss so far...well done

    i agree 100% with what B52 wrote here.....it is TRUTH and it is REALITY **then there are those who choose not to change, and in order to keep their old habits/foods, they will come up with different excuses, rationalizations and theories as to why they don't want the band adjusted.....then complain later it does not work, or they have fallen off the wagon and need to get back on track.....when really they won't let the band do it's thing.**

    eat when you are truly hungry...that is what my doctor/nutritionist advised me to do as our bodies will let us know its time

    drinking 30 min before & after

    many different answer but i say go by what you doctor recommends for best results. i drink right up to the time i eat....and wait 20 to 30 min afterwards....(if i need to, i sip)..there is no right or wrong ..just do the best you can.

    Slow loser

    the way i see it, as long as you lose (steadily) no matter how fast or (slow) a loss is a loss now that i am losing (slow via numbers) i am thankful just to be losing now..watch the calories (3500 calories ate or drank is a pound and to lose weight, we must burn off more than we take in calorie wise)... hang in there

    no more "normal" food ever?

    there is no good or bad foods (only better choices) you can eat what you want....sometimes some things are just better left on shelves or at the drive thru. 3500 calories is a pound ate or drank.....so if you eat only lettuce or bbq chips, its the same. i did not get super morbid obese by making healthier eating choices. i am losing weight by eating...i eat what i want...i dont diet and i dont do without..

  23. well, good for you on taking that step to get healthy sounds to me like someone doesnt like that and wants you to be (fat) with her if you lose weight and get healthy, she will still be fat and i am sure you get where i am going here.. i say make yourself well and let your success, your maturity help whomever you know as an example of just how well WLS can and will work..she was right on one thing ONLY...you are beautiful now, as you were before and will be always
  24. that is reality that you are losing (actual weight)...the scale is not a great almighty to if a person is losing. however clothes sizes are...great job......i see no worrying needed on your part..your body loses as your body sees fit..even if the scale hardly moves, or not at all, the WLS we have and our body is still working..stay the course and as you wrote, the pounds are coming off
