    just because the scale doesnt show a loss, inches show the real answer and by you putting on clothes, this was a YEAH it is working moment. good for you. well done...What a great way to start the weekend.

    i def use your thoughts/wise words to guide me through this life long journey that i am currently on. and in discussing all issues with you, and reading alot of issues on this forum with being too tight, i am on the side of being loosey goosey when i ever do start getting fills. you made some excellent points, (aka the slider as it is easier to eat) and it makes perfect sense..thank you for sharing. you being a success that you are, needs to blog more and help/encourage those who need it me being one of them

    i do not eat like i did before as in total agreement with parrisshell (the junk/processed foods or fast foods) and certainly cannot with the amounts i use to eat....now that i have this tool inside me to help me lose weight, it seems only natural to eat better foods that are good for me since i am trying to get healthy. absolutely nothing wrong with eating any foods (as food is not the problem) but there are better choices....baked vs fried etc....so no i dont eat like i did before surgery. i no longer crave chips and dip but like i told my friend AJ yesterday, i crave that cold watermelon in my fridge right now..i do eat one splurge meal of whatever i want once a week..(in my allotted amount and then right back to what i know is best for me)...like with all things, it will vary with people.

    if you are losing (inches) then you are losing no matter what the scale says or doesnt say... to gain, you must take in more calories than you burn off...are you doing this?? if not, stop worrying

    by admitting what is wrong and acknowledging a change is needed to be successful, is key...now that you did it, as eye candy said its never ever too late......so you stepped backward some, turn around and get back on the right path..go see your dr, see a nutritionist and start over...but you must start...not just write about it.......the sooner you do, the sooner you can get there...i believe in you now YOU believe in you

    not sure why you are feeling like a failure at not quite 3 weeks post op that is kinda silly if you ask me.....you are losing weight according to your body and you need to realize, understand and accept that the first month is for healing inside..you had recent major surgery..just because the scale is not moving does not mean the band is not working or you are not doing good...my opinion is stay off the scale so much, follow the rules like you have as you are doing great, and understand, losing inches means your losing... proud of you...now its your turn to say your proud of you...

    Liquid diet

    keep drinking and using the free items you can have (SF popsicles saved me)....and i dont see nothing wrong with the gum part but that is a question for your doctor. you will find after the first 3 to 5 days, you will realize its mainly head hunger you are dealing with. we eat breakfast/lunch/supper/snacks at certain times and if we dont, we are hungry...you wil see what i am talking about the longer you are on the pre op. please keep drinking..you are doing well.....hang in there

    On my preop diet...haven't lost an ounce...

    the pre op is about readying your liver for surgery and not really losing weight (which is basically all water weight and not actually weight). unless your dr advised you to lose a set amount, you are doing fine....slipping up and cheating is not the way to go and its gonna get harder before it gets easier and having a good mind set and determination to follow the lap band rules before surgery will prove to be your best success after surgery. if you are hungry, drink (alot). it mainly head hunger...hang in there....

    only you know if you are doing the right thing if you want to get healthy and lose weight and adhere to eating better and exercising and let the band help you, then heck yeah you are doing right.. second guessing seems natural...will i , wont i , what if this, what is that...but remember what if you do and you are an amazing success and then its all worth it. YOU are worth it.......i say go for it......and when/if you do, do it the right way, head on and no excuses. you got this. if you want it. best of luck to you

    sip and sip and sip and then sip some more......as they said, insides are swollen and as the days pass and the swelling subsides, you will be able to take in more and more......

    Post work out?

    i try to do 70-80 grams of protein per day... in the a.m., i drink a shake as i love the taste and the rest of the day, get my protein from lean meats/beans etc..and somes a protein bar in the mid afternoon if i am hungry.

    Surgery Done Today

    hard part is over........now you just follow the post op diet instructions and allow your body/insides to heal for the next few weeks and you WILL succeed... i can offer you to sip and sip and then sip some more, begin walking as much as you can and keep a positive attitude...

    lawn mower

    so today, after i got home from work, i did my step aerobics DVD....and it felt good......and then i went outside and chatted on the phone with amanda and hub came out to cut grass.....i hung up the phone and told hub i wanted to cut grass...so he gave me the lawn mower and up and down and up and down i went........so yeah i was wearing blue flip flops but i spent 20 min cutting the side of our house.....while hub sat in the chair and watched who would have thunk that a year post op that my 336 pound body would do a step aerobic class AND cut grass with lawn mower on the same day within an hour of each other.. this post is to say, the band WORKS i am proof

    hey karen, yes i got it colored/hi lighted last weekend...i truly love it...i hate that i cannot ever get it to look like when i leave the hair salon..am i the only one who feels that way i wonder?
