hey ladies i saw the tricare prime thread and wanted to pop in and and wish you all the best of luck. i also have tricare prime north and its been an easy road for me and i wish you the same. hang in there

i think 10 pounds in 3 day is Water due to sodium or something 3500 calories is a pound and times that by 10....did you eat that much?? i would think not to gain actual weight, you need to take in more calories than you burn off.. best of luck at your dr apt monday

sip and sip and sip some more..its vital to stay hydrated and move/walk about as much as you can its not easy but each day that passes, it will get easier..

d`5`h5r yes you can do it....and if you keep thinking you cant, you will start to believe it and you will be doomed..get rid of the i cant thinking.. maddy was right, the first few days are the hardest...sip and drink all day....SF popsicles saved me and how about put the shakes in freezer to make a slush like (or blender) that is what i did and still do...i am sorry your struggling but its not easy and its def worth it...you CAN do it, if you really want to..

no matter which surgery one has, unless the person is willing to make life changes, any early success will be short lived..many people with bypass now want the band....sure the ds and sleeve and bypass can offer quicker loss in the beginning, but if old eating habits return, guess what happens my dr wanted me to have bypass because of my size but i have used the band as instructed and changed my attitude from i cant to i want...and i am living proof as are many others who are proof the band can and does work any wls does and can have complications..its a risk we all take one surgery isnt any better than the other..what makes one better is how the person chooses to use it..many people figure just having wls will make them lose weight and they can still eat fast food and such like before surgery...these are the ones who say the band is not working or in 4 months post op asking what are they doing wrong get the surgery that you and your doctor feels is best for you for best results, follow the instructions they advise you of, be honest with yourself and start making your life better...you have to decide which option is best for you. you will read good and bad..but it boils down to if you really want to make your life better and if so, doing what you need to for it to happen.

if in pain..go to your doctor or the ER

i re-read your post and you were looking for (answers and researching) do you have a lap band dr in mind? if so, asking them would be a great place to start they are dr's and can answer any medically type questions and not just copy/paste internet sites. ANY surgery has can have complications (USA or Europe or where ever) it goes with the territory. as i stated, sometimes the risks to make one's life better is worth taking that step is it for you..?

i was just finishing my TOM and i remember telling my dr i would be on it and he said its not an issue..i wore my panties and a pad.....so not a big deal...i am sure they have seen just about everything

some do and some dont as you can see from the comments just do what your dr says to do

i had a hernia repaired also...it was major surgery so its gonna be uncomfortable and yes hurt..keep moving, take your pain meds as needed and please know each day that passes, it will get easier..

let me say my dr wanted me to have the bypass due to my size and bmi said i would have better success.....on the contrary, because i took the bull by the horns and ate as i was advised that would help me, exercised and let the band work, i have proved not only to my dr and myself and to anyone else who thinks the band doesnt work, that it does. it has worked for me and that is what matters people choose what they want and let the chips fall but whatever anyone chooses, do the best you can for the best results. in my opinion some people try to start trouble for no reason..

that is great news i must add that my ole man has lost about 15 pounds since my surgery so hey, this stuff seems to help the whole family tell your hub great job

i think while also researching (issues/complications) you should also research success stories...and people whose lives were saved by this tool to help aid a person...the risk i took to extend my life by better health FAR outweighs the risk factor.

you waited 2 yrs after suffering bad reflux and not being able to keep anything down to have your band unfilled? when bad things happen like what you wrote, and for a long time-- a dr visit is a must to help seek out treatment.

now that i am farther out, i take my walmart version of tylenol capsules when i need too but i also have it in liquid form......at night, when i need to sleep but got sammy hagar in my thoughts and cant sleep, i still crush my sleepy meds at night...seems to put me to sleep quicker...i say do what works for you.
