    March Bandsters!

Surgery went well this morning. I have some gas pain in my shoulder, but so far it's not too bad. I have been able to take broth and tea with no problem. I get to drive back home tomorrow live 4 hours away).

    March Bandsters!

I am having lapband and hiatal hernia repair the day before you. My surgeon said the pain would be a little worse, most likely, but to make sure you use your pain medicine as soon as the pain starts coming back the first several days. If you wait until it really hurts, it will be hard for the medicine to catch up.

    March Bandsters!

Getting banded on March 21 and started my liquid diet yesterday.
  6. Hi all, Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I am 28 years old and live in Midland, TX. I am going to my pre-op appointment tomorrow with Dr. Adam Smith in Fort Worth, and I am supposed to get banded next month (self-pay). I have been overweight most of my life, but have really put on the weight since I stopped playing football in high school. I am looking forward to a new life and being healthy to spend time with my wife and future children. Anyhow, I have been lurking for a while, but I will try to start interacting with the forum. Looking forward to talking to several of you.
  7. Hi all, I am supposed to be banded next month in Fort Worth (self-pay). However, I live in Midland, TX. I currently have a primary care physician, but he is not a big fan of weight loss surgery of any kind, so I am looking to switch to a Dr. that has more experience with banded patients. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.
  8. I will keep you posted. My surgeon's office is going to work with me to find a new PCP. You might ask your surgeon about it. Good luck!
  9. Thanks for all of the encouragement. My date is set for March 21st. I met my surgeon last week and he seems really nice and knowledgeable.
