Have you tried the Quest bars from GNC? I love them and they are good for protein..I eat one everyday...Premier Protein drinks are very good as well..String cheese, etc...You really have to try and get in more protein, it's so important...
  5. Don't worry about the calories so much right now...I had to be on liquids, greek yogurt and broths for the first 3 weeks..My NUT wasnt' concerned about calories, just liquids and protein...

    protein bars = depression?

How long ago were you sleeved? I was sleeved on April 2nd and about 2 weeks ago I was in this terrible funk, I didn't know what was going on because before that I was on this big high just from losing weight and feeling better, so I didn't know what was wrong with me..It lasted about a week and a half and then all of a sudden I felt like myself again..I forced myself to go to my kettlebell class again one night and after that is when I felt better..Not sure if it's a coincidence or not but I was just happy it went away...Good luck and feel better, I hope it passes quickly for you..

    Exercise question for the VETS

LOL yes I do have a 1 year old granddaughter, but I live up on a mountain with nothing but hills, so I don't really see me running around with that, haha, but it looks awesome...Well since I first posted this thread, I did a 5K foam fest on Sunday and it was awesome, I completed the entire thing, was so proud of myself..www.5kfoamfest.com check it out, was really fun....Been going to Kettlebell classes once a week and trying to work on fitting more things in...

    Exercise question for the VETS

Thanks everyone for your posts...I actually do like to be physical and do not mind exercise, it's just that, and I know it might sound like an excuse, but I never seem to be able to find the time! i work full time, then after work I babysit my 1 year old Granddaughter and by the time she leaves, I'm done and have all my "other" stuff to do...Before you say it, I am NOT a morning person, this is something I am going to try and work on though, LOL..would love to get my exercise in in the mornings, just can't seem to make it happen...I do feel much better when I exercise and know that I need to find some kind of routine to make it happen, was just wondering if I would never get to goal though if I didn't do it consistently...All your responses really helped, so thanks for taking the time to write..
  17. I'm sure your fine because it was a mushy food, but try to wait it out until you are cleared. I was on liquids for 3 weeks post op and it was sooooo hard, I know..My surgeon told me that it wasn't so much the food itself (depending on what it is of course) that would hurt me, but the throwing up that could..So try to hold out, it will be worth it, while your stomach is still healing...

Can I eat this post-op and when?

Yeah, I was afraid to try it for the first time today being only 2 1/2 months out, but so far so good, don't wanna jinx myself though! LOL

Can I eat this post-op and when?

Kristie, I don't know all the answers to your questions, I am 2 1/2 months post op so I will give you my best conclusion. As far as "spicy foods", I don't see why you can't have them once you are cleared for all foods, the biggest problem you may have with that is that you can't drink when you eat, so I don't know if that would be a problem for you or not ( it would be for me! LOL)...As far as salad, again when you are cleared for regular foods you would be able to fit that into your diet..For example, today for lunch I had a salad with grilled chicken on it..So I got my protein and some greens in as well..I will also eat vegetables with whatever protein I am having for dinner..Of course it isn't much that I'm eating, but I'm still getting a variety..So you will still be able to utilize your garden! Hope this helps alittle...Kari

    Old navy compression pants

Thanks for letting me know about the sale, going to hit up Old Navy this weekend!
  24. Ree, honestly I was worried about the same thing especially having a full time job, but honestly, I went back to work after 2 weeks and felt fine..The first week was the hardest, just because of recovering from the surgery itself and adjusting to drinking and getting protein in, etc, but by the end of the second week I was feeling much better and went back to work with no problems..
  25. Awesome! I can't wait to get that far...
