No More Wondering What Onederland Would Be Like!

Congrats! May I ask what herbs you are taking for your metabolism? -
Paula- if you make the jello yourself you can add protein powder to it. It tastes good.

Help...post Op Grocery List...
smmrsue replied to tammyg1969's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm from southern California, you? Yes, I'm EXTREMELY nervous. Nervous about the actual surgery itself and not losing weight after surgery. I'm getting really excited though and can't wait to lose the weight. You? Are you required to do a pre-op diet? -
Good luck preneec!

Pre Op Diet, Stomach Bug
smmrsue replied to kasper23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Potato to help with nausea? I would stick with chicken noodle soup or dry toast or ginger. Honestly, being so sick it probably won't hurt anything. -

Girliegirl- we are being banded on the same day! -
Is this close to menifee? I recently moved there.

I think the green box is when someone "likes" your comment. You get point ratings or something. I could be completely off base here.

Congrats and welcome to the group! I hope you get a date soon. Waiting is a killer.

I posted a recent before pic. I usually avoid photos and long mirrors like the plague, but I'm forcing myself to look at it. Never again will I look like that. I think I'm going to take a pic every 25 lbs or so. The amazing shrinking Summer or something

Try not to get too freaked out. Your anxiety and stress will only make the hives worse. It could be many things. So no use buying trouble yet. Rule out the easy stuff first. If it is the band THEN you can freak out, but that's rare. It's more likely the dermabond, or cleanser, pain meds, or something else. Good luck!

Momba- we are being banded on the same day! Where are you getting yours done?

Or worse. Imagine the virus kicked in or got into your bloodstream from surgery. Horribleness would have ensued But seriously it's good to get it taken care of.

Anyone? Am I The Only One In April?
smmrsue replied to scorpiolady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yay! There are finally more April bandsters! Chunkygirl- you and everyone are more than welcome to join the group. If you search for Springers under the groups tab you can join from there. It's an open group. BTW- someone from the March bandsters said April ones were not as fun. As if! -
Looks like today was the day for news. I had already received my pre-op diet info but I got the call for the scheduling of my pre op labs and tests. 22 days and counting! I made cinamon sugar pancakes with a glaze syrup this morning for breakfast. I didn't eat one bite. I'm so proud. It was tough watching my husband, son, and daughter eat them though. It got easier toward the end. I just sat there with my optifast chocolate protein shake and drank it. It tastes like too sweet chocolate milk. I know I'm going to get sick of it. It could be worse. It could taste like chalk, or heaven knows what else. I'll deal. GLove- I'm so glad you are getting excited. I saw a post where you were having major doubts.

Thanks! Apple chips here I come!

Where can one purchase this?

Like many of you, my biggest fear is that I will not lose weight after surgery. I don't start my pre-op diet for another week and I'm scared I won't lose weight on that either. I have been using My Fitness Pal religiously for a month now and have only lost 5 pounds. For the past week and a half the scale hasn't moved at all. I've been exercising, being honest with portions, not eating as many unhealthy foods, and have only gone over calories and one or two days, and even then it was only by a hundred or so. Admittedly I'm addicted to the scale, I weigh every morning, but it should have gone down over one week. I feel discouraged. Is anything I do going to matter? I know my PCOS doesn't help any but something has to give. I'm feeling so discouraged.

Thanks for all of the support, I really needed it. Just one of those days I guess. Xavier, you are right, it's a lifestyle change. I may not lose weight at the same rate as others but if I continue to follow the plan there is no way I can fail..... (hopefully) Thanks for being there for me everyone! So happy to have found this forum.

Wanna Come To My Pity Party? :)
smmrsue replied to TracieR's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
If not well meaning. I went through everything and was facing IVF. I wasn't ready for that yet. Especially since we didn't know if I would carry. I just let it go for a while. Anyway, then one day it just happened. My body decided to work again. 8 1/2 years later we had a wonderful baby girl. To tell you the truth having an older sibling is great. They help, they understand, little jealousy, and the live for her just pours out of him. It gets me teary eyed (so not the crying type- unless I'm pregnant, then a fray in my pants gets me going) just watching them. I know how hard this is for you and how much you want this. It has definitely made me appreciate every moment more. Even when I had hyperemesis gravidarum, no complaints. I hope one day you get that chance again. -

I have felt your pain. I had little to no problems getting pregnant with my now 10 year old son. Two years later we tried again... Nothing. For years. I heard it all. " At least you have one, you can adopt, some people can't have any, etc" Callous, -
That's great! Keep it up! I can't wait to do this next year.
