Hi guys! I went under the knife on May 7th at a surgery weight of 242. My one month anniversary was yesterday and I weighed in at 219 for a 23 pound loss. I guess I'm "normal." For all of you waiting for their first scrambled egg, I felt the same way and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Every day since then has been better than the last. When you get to solids, try this blog http://www.emilybites.com/p/recipe-index.html?m=1 I have made both the taco and lasagna cupcakes. I liked the lasagna ones a little more (i may be biased living in tucson) but they were both awesome! Congrats to all the May Sleevers!

Congrats beachlover! Glad to hear everything went well. I agree day time tv sucks. I don't even care for evening tv unless it's a Dbacks game or HBO. I went and saw "what to expect when you are expecting" at the theater today. It was good. The trailer made it seem like just a comedy but there was more to it. I don't have kids and still enjoyed it. I'm thinking of seeing battleship tomorrow. Anyone see it yet? -
Kinda Confused...
Lizzygirl079 replied to Sandra_Baby87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sandra, I'm only nine days out and my Water intake has been so much easier. Your tummy is still swollen (I'm sure mine is too) and it makes it hard to put anything in there. Every day it gets easier. I'm still sipping, but I get an larger sip in there occasionally without a problem. Water does not stay in my belly for long, just a couple minutes. Don't worry it will get better! -

What's The Story With Gerd?
Lizzygirl079 replied to DesertRat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
DesertRat, I was sleeved on May 7th by Dr. Monash (a superb surgeon in my opinion) in tucson. He also repaired a hitial hernia. The next day I started feeling like i had stomach acid creeping up all the way up into the back of my mouth. Preop, I had occasional heartburn, acid reflux, but this was much more severe. Doc suggested I start taking Prilosec. Since then, it has Improved greatly. I wouldnt be surprised if I have to take Prilosec or an equivalent permanently. Hope that helps and good luck on your journey! -

If you are anything like me, you will be so pumped up before surgery you won't get a chance to be tired. Then you will have plenty of time to sleep post op. -

Any May Sleevers Yet?
Lizzygirl079 replied to Iwant2Bthatgirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had surgery at Tucson Medical Center on Monday. I didn't ask how long I was out after surgery. But it seemed like whatever narcotic they gave me in the recovery room did not work. As soon as I got to my regular room I was given PCA Morphine and was able to walk around right after that. My pain was much better after that. After a one night stay in the hospital i came home yesterday with a script for Vicodin. I'm not gonna sugar coat it. It was a lot tougher than I expected, but I know it will be worth it. I hope this makes sense. I just took another round of happy pills. -

DONE. Thank you all for the well wishes. It was really bad for the first two hours post surgery. But now I'm feeling good. They fixed a large hiatal Hernia and found a bunch of cysts on my spleen. Cysts were benign. -

Ahhhhh! On my way to the hospital. I'll be sleeved in no time! -
Am I the oddball sleever with no pre-op diet? My surgery date is May 7 and doc says he wants me healthy and strong for surgery. I'm all for it, but it feels like I'm missing something.

Anyone Not Have A Pre-Op Diet?
Lizzygirl079 replied to Lizzygirl079's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the input. I'm trying to be good without being "ordered" to. What I really need to do is give up the caffeine. I've slowed down on the soda but I don't feel human until after my morning coffee. -
