Why does it hurt to eat in the mornings?
SashaWLS replied to goal_will_be_met's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I heard somewhere that when you sleep, all the Fluid in your band collects on one side, so when you stand up it squeezes you more tightly. It takes a few hours for it to then move back around equally... I usually have a large coffee in the morning, a chunky Soup for lunch and then a normal dinner... -
pure protein shake drinks... yuck?

The ONLY one I like is the GNC Lean Shake in chocolate -
I got 3 my first fill, .5 the next, and .1 each time for the next 12 months. Currently at 4.9cc I think...

Congrats!!!! My only advice about your daughter is to be kind, and try to talk to her and find out what's going on. It sounds like her anger is covering up some other emotion. Is she scared? Does she feel left out, like you didn't include her? Is she jealous? This can be a bonding moment for you two. Good luck! -
CONGRATS!!!! Im trying, and my ob/gyn said she doesn't remove Fluid unless morning sickness is a huge problem, and then only for first trimester.

How much did she try to put in?

Getting prepared...what protein shakes do you like?
SashaWLS replied to Amyzing's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GNC Lean Shake in premixed chocolate is the only one I liked because it's not dairy free. The skim milk goes a long way with taste. -
I'm in Manhattan... Also went to dr fielding at NYU. The best!!

Don't stress, it'll happen. I've been banded 15 months and am really only seeing my first explosion of big losses in the last few months. -

Congrats!! I wouldn't take stool softener at this point. You'll be on liquids. -
Does Everyone Have Surgery
SashaWLS replied to seeme1954's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Depends on your body... I'm DEFINITELY going to need my arms (and thighs, if I care enough) done, but won't need a tummy tuck. -
You look amazing!!!! This is my dream!
-
I get gas pains on and off. I think there's something about the way swallow that makes me trap air under the band.
-
I use the Citibikes to get around! LOVE IT!!!

It sounds like you want to tell... Follow your heart, you know what's right for your kids. -
I usually have soup, chili, egg salad, tuna salad, sometimes sushi. Yesterday I had a chopped salad with chicken, avocado, corn, mozzarella and balsamic vinaigrette...
-
Call them to ask. I like the GNC Lean shakes because they're very thin. About the consistency of milk. In fact, they're made with milk, which may be why they taste so good...

I've taken my pants in 3x!

LapBand Before Having Kids/Pregnancy
SashaWLS replied to txgirl10326's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
My doc said no prob with the band... Don't even need to unfi it unless you have a lot of morning sickness.... -
I lost 75lbs on WW and kept it off for three years. It's an awesome program and will help you change your life. Unfortunately for me, after losing all that weight I met my now husband and spent 10 years partying. (I guess I changed my life twice! Haha!!) and while I tried again multiple times over the years, I just couldn't duplicate the magic I felt that first time around. But have only the best things to say about the program as a tool....

THIS! -
I eat rice with no problem. Though there's something about Jasmin rice in Indian food that hurts. Maybe it's drier?

Newbie with cold feet
SashaWLS replied to renewed_mind's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry, have to STRONGLY disagree here!!! My best friend has the sleeve and it's no different than my experience. She gets sick from certain foods, can't tolerate carbonation, has sliders, etc. The ONLY difference I can see is that I can still get fills, and she's able to eat more per meal than when she first started. There is no other difference!! -

I can and DO eat everything on your list except carbonated drinks. And a few times I was craving a coke so I opened one and left it in the fridge for a few hours and drank it flat. I've taken 15 months to get to decent restriction. I went slow because I don't like being too tight and I want to get used to each level before getting tighter... My weight loss is great, but probably very slow by many people's standards on here. 15 months ago I started at 266, I'm around 190 now, but still losing every month. I was a size 24 pants, I'm now size 14. I was a 3x top, and now wear a large or medium. I look AWESOME, feel sexy, but most of all have my old energy and brain focus!! I'm MUCH sharper at work and have more stamina. Don't worry. This experience feels natural. You'll eat what feels good and avoid what doesn't. It's up to you! -
OMG I'm out of my head excited!!!!! I had 4 huge boxes of "thin clothes" on my closet and 99% of it now fits!!! I tried them on yesterday. Size 14 and 12 pants, size large and medium tops!!!! I didn't realize I was that small yet, but went to a party Friday night and my friend told me that I looked tiny, and I realized my new size 16 Ann Taylor pants (omg yea, regular clothes!!) were already kinda droopy on me. I just bought them a month ago! Being a size 14 wasn't even on my radar... And the best part is I even missed the boat on a favorite coat which is kinda too big. Hah!!!!!!!!!!! So happy!!!
