Whew.. finally able to get back on here. I see no one else has been talking while I couldn't get on. Michelle, I ordered that book from Amazon. It looked interesting. Doing good on my eating today. Had a few bites of cottage cheese and pineapple for breakfast, ham salad with soy nuts, two slices red pepper and 2 mini-meatballs for lunch. We eat supper late today so I'm going to have some more cottage cheese and pineapple in a little bit. Hope everyone is having a good day. It's NOT snowing here!! woo hoooooo!!

Michelle... I knew it was K, not miles, but they are pretty close and it's a heck of a long way to walk no matter what the measurement!! It certainly is another goal to attain. YES, YOU CAN! TracyK.. where are you?????

Been there, done that. I feel so much better without the sugar and carbs. It's really empowering to say no to stuff now. And are you going to be walking 50 miles in 2 days?????? Or do you just certain segments of the distance? I can't image walking 25 miles in one day. That would do me in for sure. And I assume this walk would be before our get together and you'll continue walking to Alabama?? Ethan is wanting to do the Wii so I better get off here and get him started. Congrats, Laura. The quartet was awesome at the Inauguration.. Aretha Franklin, not so much. She was singing too high for her and didn't have the power she usually has. And what the heck outfit was she wearing????? I was wondering where they plugged it in!!

Company just left and I just got done throwing out food. Can you believe it?? I did great with eating. They brought over chicken wraps and meatballs, pita bread and dip and I had the spinach/cheese squares. I ate my ham salad with soy nuts, 1 meat ball and 2 bites of the chicken wrap. The wrap stuck so I knew no more of that. I tried one of the spinach squares for breakfast and it went down really slowly, so didn't have another for lunch. Bob is out putting more seed in the bird feeders right now. Everyone was saying how they couldn't believe how much snow we have in Alpena. We haven't seen that much in years and years. It's supposed to get into the 30's next week. That will be like a heatwave here!

Tracy..you and I both know you can do this. You just have to find the right groove. I know well about the skips and bumps. I finally feel like I'm doing what I'm supposed to with the band, but I know I can ruin it in a heartbeat. So stick with it. It doesn't matter how many times you start, the important part is to finish. And YES, WE CAN!!!!!!!

Good Morning, Violets.. Lost my first post, so I'll try again. The house is clean, the 3 inches of new snow has been blown from the driveway, the spinach/cheese appetizer is in the oven and now I can sit and wait for company to come while I watch the historic news on TV. It's an amazing day no matter what your views are. I can't believe all the snow I am looking at outside. Light, fluffy snow piled a couple of feet high all over. It's beautiful, but I don't know what is going to happen in the spring when all this melts!! Heather.. Ayla is a beautiful name. And I love it's meaning. Jenn.. I just don't know what to say. I don't have any experience in what you're going through so please forgive me if I don't give suggestions. Other Violets have been through so much more and can give advice based on experience. Good one, PaamELa!! Ben and Jen thought it was a good name for their daughter.. Just got back from the Chinese New Year buffet. I did very well. I had a couple bites of salmon, 2 black pepper shrimp, 1 small nugget of barbequed tuna, 6 shrimp in a cream sauce and 1 piece General Tso chicken. I had a few bites of watermelon for dessert and didn't even take one bite of my fortune cookie. I used to eat everyone's cookie at the table! I'm going to go fix some raspberries and cream and splenda in the Magic Bullet and call it a night on eating. Everyone have a great evening. Sleep well. Michelle... where are you????? Good afternoon, Violets.. I had my teeth cleaned this morning and boy are they hurting now. She really dug on the teeth in the back. I go back on Friday for some filler for a gap between my fake tooth and my crown. Ethan is here playing Wii and talking with Grandpa. His mom will pick him up in an hour and then we'll start cleaning the living room for our company tomorrow. We have 3 friends coming over to watch the inauguration with us. They are bringing finger food and I'm making a spinach cheese dealy so I can eat it with my ham salad and soy nuts. I still haven't had any sugar this month and feel so much better. Ethan keeps coming over and pointing to the emoticons and telling me what they are doing. He likes the thumbs up one and the eye blinking one. Now we just went through all of them and he liked the puking one and the butt one. Typical boy!! Sure is quiet in here today..

It was super easy to get into and out of. Just lock the brakes and sit down like you're sitting in a beach chair. They had one to try at the rec center and I was zooming around and around. Ditto what the Violets said, Jenn. Haydee.. I'm saving my pennies for a Terra trike. I LOVE that bike. As soon as the snow melts.. like in May, I'm going to buy one. There is a dealer in town here and I've tried the bike out. No more falling off.. no more back pain. Just fun, fun, fun!! We got about 4 inches of fluffy white stuff last night and the snowplow just plowed our road so there is tons of snow at the end of the drive. It's STILL snowing here. The snow is up to Jetta's (the garage dog) chest. My yorkies would be swallowed up for sure if they went out! TracyinKS.. have you tried soy nuts?? They are me new favorites. It looks great, Laura!! And I know what you mean about borders. I ended up having to put Elmer's glue under some of the edges of my border in the kitchen even after using the special paste. The border I put in the breezeway I learned my lesson and put the Golden Harvest paste on it right away. I'm finally off to bed. Desperate Housewives was a really good episode tonight. Love that show!

Good afternoon, Violets.. I made it back from church. We must have received 5 inches between 7 and 9 a.m.!! Michigan doesn't allow chains or studded tires so we do the best we can with what we have. I've driven in snow for years and years and years and ... well, you get the idea. You just have to be slow and careful. Not many cars out on the way to church so that wasn't a problem, but lots more after church and some people still try to go too fast so you have to be awake and alert for the other guy. Our neighbors were kind and snow blowed our driveway while we were in church, so Bob doesn't have to do it when he gets home. I had enough in the choir to sing the anthem. For awhile, there were more in the choir than in the congregation. The minister called us the Frozen Chosen. The sermon was dull and boring as usual, but the choir sounded good. I'm off to get some lunch for the Bobster and me. He's having the shrimp scampi leftover and I'm having tuna salad with soy nuts, my new favorite meal. BBL.......

YIKES!! It's snowing so hard, I can't even see the Bobster cleaning off my car and it's only a few feet away!!!!! Beautiful for sure, but I wonder how the drive to church will be. Cross your fingers!

Good Morning, Violets.. Up early to get ready for church. I wonder how many of my choir people will be there today. We got about 6 inches of snow with this last storm and are supposed to get 1-3 more today. If I didn't have to direct the choir, I'd be back in bed all warm and cozy instead of thinking about getting the car warmed up and cleaned off to make the trek to church. The Bobster got home in time to watch the Pistons lose last night.. grrrrrrrrrr Nothing on the agenda today except church and a nap. Laura.. what the heck are you doing up at 2 a.m.???? Good evening, Violets.. Just in from snowblowing the driveway and filling up the bird feeders. The birds went through 4 scoops of feed today.. enough to halfway empty three feeders! They must know it's going to be bad tonight. It's been snowing all day and it's looking like a shaken snow globe out there right now. I'm fixing shrimp scampi for dinner and am waiting to hear when the Bobster will be home. He left the meeting early so should be able to get home before it gets too bad.
