TracyK.. I meant it would be a good day for a baby to be born cause today would have been my brother's 64th birthday. If my mom and brother had their way, Baby Barden would be born before midnight today. We'll see how much pull they have from up there. lol

Good Morning, Violets.. No baby news yet. I couldn't get into the site earlier, but then thought to reboot the cable box and that worked. I dreamed that Kris was in labor and the contractions were 33 seconds apart, but then the alarm went off and I never did find out if it was Grady or Madison. Maybe today we'll have a birth day baby. I'm lay reader at church plus directing the choir so I'll be busy for an hour and then lunch out with friends. I don't call Kris early because they sleep in on Sunday and of course if there was any news they'd be calling me. But this waiting is just as bad with a daughter as it was when I was waiting to have her! I'm wearing my new, red $1.97 blouse today and it looks really nice! Can you tell I'm happy with my bargain shopping? Everyone have a great day. I'm off to brush my teeth while the car warms up. It's 3 degrees out there! brrrrrrrrrr

117 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! -
Good evening, Violets.. Just got off the phone with Nathan and no new contractions today. sighhh Course tomorrow would be a good day for a baby to be born. We'll just have to wait and see. I gotta tell you, I'm not really good at this waiting thing. Especially when I was sure I'd be Gramma again last night. Michelle.. your kids are not both thespians.. DD is, but DS is what we in the business call.... a musician!! Congrats to them both. I remember being on stage in a couple of plays here in Alpena and I loved being in the pit orchestra in college and once for Oliver here in Alpena. Suzie.. nice snow pictures. It took me quite a while to get the ice off my car this morning. It was about a half inch thick with snow on top. Terry... I went shopping today and was really good and didn't buy much at all. The necklace I got was half off and like I said, the blouse was $34.00 marked down to $1.97. Other than that, I resisted big time. Off to watch some tv with the Bobster. Everyone have a great evening!!
-
Nope, Suzie.. no baby yet. Kat.. you are SOOOOO right about wanting to call all the time, but not wanting to go overboard bugging them all the time. I called once this morning and no news. I called again under the pretense of letting Kris know about a birthday party for one of her high school girl friends, but no answer so I imagine they are out and about just trying to pass time too. I went shopping and got a blouse at Penney's on sale for $1.97 wooo hooooo!! I got some earrings and a new necklace too. I went to Peebles and ended up with a puzzle for Ethan and then went to the resale shop and got him some sweaters and shirts in size 4T. He's just about ready for that size. Can't believe how big he is for his age. I'm going to go try and take a nap justincase I have to be up tonight or early tomorrow morning for ummmmmmmm oh, I don't know........ a baby maybe?? PULEEZEE.. Will check back later this evening.
-
Good Morning again, Violets.. Just called and talked with Nathan. No new contractions. They stopped as soon as they got home last night. dang. Now we'll just hope for him/her to be born tomorrow. I have the whole day to myself with nothing to do! Arghhhhhhh I think I'll go do a little window shopping. Take care, everyone!!
-
Good morning, Violets. No new news on the baby front. Contractions were 9 minutes apart and stopped by the time she got home. I haven't called this morning because Kris usually sleeps in and I didn't want to disturb her, but I'll call in about an hour or two and see what's up. In my heart, I'd love to see her have the baby tomorrow, March 1st as that was my brother's birthday. He was a well loved brother and teacher and passed away at age 50, 14 years ago. I just have this feeling my mom and Ken are going to try and have her deliver on his birthday. Crazy thought, I know, but I'll just be happy when this baby finally gets here. The Bobster is going to an all day meeting an hour and a half away, but he'll be in contact by phone in case he's needed here. I have my cameras ready and just need the call!! I'm going to go fix some breakfast and read the paper. Everyone have a good day!!!

When we were in Gruene, PamELa told us about her cleaning lady. Pam said she called her Pam EL a with the accent on the EL, so that's what I've called her ever since.

Good afternoon Violets.. Are we back?? Are we REALLY back??? No baby news yet. And I too love the name Madison Rose. I get the feeling Grady Nathan is not popular with you guys.. lol Not with me either, but they didn't ask me. Kris has always liked the name Madison and Rose is for Rose from Golden Girls. She and her Grandma Case always watched that show together along with Lucy, but Kris's St. Bernard is named Lucy so they couldn't use it for the baby. Nathan was an amazing pitcher in high school and was scouted by some major league teams, but decided to go to college instead and become a P.A. Anyhoo, Grady is the name of a baseball player so that's the signficance of using it. I've been working on a business card for our flute quartet. I'll post it and see what you think. I think it turned out pretty neat. Off to the bank to deposit my check and then home to clean a bit before going to the basketball game and dinner out tonight. BBL..... Wind Song Business Card.pdf

Good Morning, Violets.. I slept in this morning since I don't have Ethan. I didn't even get up until 9. It sure felt good!! We didn't get the snow they predicted last night, but we got a LOT of ice. There was freezing rain on and off all night. All the schools in the area are closed today EXCEPT the one where I used to teach. I remember all those times of having to drive 62 miles on very bad roads with schools closed here because my school didn't close. That amount of miles makes a big difference in road conditions. Anyhoo, I'm so glad I don't have to drive with "teacher rage" anymore. No word on a baby yet. Jane.. we don't know what it will be. Kris and Nathan wanted to be surprised. I'm thinking a boy, but would be so delighted with a girl and just very happy for whoever it turns out to be, either Grady Nathan or Madison Rose. We're supposed to go to a basketball game tonight because Nathan was an all state baseball player and they are going to award plaques during halftime for their sports "Wall of Fame". They have a wall outside the gym where pictures of former outstanding athletes are hung. The pictures got faded out, so they commissioned new ones and asked the athletes to help pay.. lol and then they will be presented to them during a special ceremony. The question is, is there a ball game tonight because of the weather?? I'm going to call Kris in a little bit to see how she's doing and see what the plans are for tonight. The Bobster and I are being lazy today. No meetings, No Ethan, No nuthin! First time in a long time and it feels great. One month from tomorrow we'll be in Hawaii!! After 40 years, it will be a dream come true. TracyK.. yup, I've had those chocolate lava lumps, not to mention all sorts of other interesting lava lovelies. I actually had a pot roast has lava lovely last night. yuck. PamELa.. you are beautiful no matter what size you are!!! And I can't wait to officially call you Doc. You WILL be giving out free prescriptions, won't you???? I need a refill on my water pill. TracyinKS..you have lots and lots on your plate right now and I don't mean food. We're here for you and support you and love you. Do you have underemployment in your state?? When son Joe doesn't get his 40 hours in, he files for underemployment and they make up the difference. Usually not without jumping through many hoops, but still it eventually comes in and every little bit helps. A big HUG to you sista for all you're going through. Wish we were closer so we could deliver it in person and wisk you away for some Violet time. I'm off to get dressed and veg out for the day. Everyone make it a good one. I've already had my ham salad/soy nuts/oranges. Just waiting to start my first liter of WhiteCran/Peach flavored water.

118 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! -
Yes, it's her first baby and yes, she's an LPN and her DH is a Physician's Assistant so if she does go into labor tonight during the storm, she'll still be in good hands even before she gets to the hospital. And yes, our winters are very long. The snow won't be gone from here until late April. But I've lived here all my life so it's just normal for me. But that's why we go on cruises in the winter months. Just a nice break in warm weather.
-
Good afternoon, Violets.. I guess we're going to get a humdinger of a storm. We're supposed to get 7-9 inches of heavy, wet snow along with thunderstorms!! Ethan just left and I won't see him until Wednesday morning. He and his family are going downstate to see his stepbrother play hockey. Kris got back from the doctor and reported in. She is 1-2 cm. dilated and 80% effaced and the baby is about 9# and sunny side up. This waiting is killing me.. I'll be so happy when the baby is here and I can start cuddling and being Gramma to another little person. Suzie... Breakfast sounded ummmmmmmmmm interesting. I had some blueberries and cream for lunch with a couple of chicken strips leftover from Applebees. I've been munching on pistachios and had an Atkins Endulge bar for a treat and really didn't care for it much. I think I'll leave the rest for the Bobster. We're having leftover pot roast hash for supper. Yummy. I'm even going to break down and have the potatoes in it. Last load of laundry is calling me. Have a good evening everyone. PamELa.. have a good trip and listen well... you're next to defend the diss! And I got a little exercise in today so the giving up of sloth is on track for Lent.
-
Finally we're back up and running. I hate it when this site goes down. No snow yet and just waiting for the report from Kris after her 2:00 appointment. I just know there will be a baby in the next few days and I'm getting really antsy!! Can't imagine what Kris is feeling!

tooo cute!!

Good Morning, Violets. Ethan has arrived and I've had my breakfast... I changed it up a bit. I had HAM salad and soy nuts and no oranges. wooo hoooo. Nothing planned for today except for laundry and waiting for the big storm to hit. We're under a warning from 4 p.m. til 3 a.m. tomorrow and expecting 6+ inches of heavy wet snow. We got some freezing rain last night and a little snow, but the big stuff is saved for tonight. Kris's doctor's appointment is at 2 and I sure hope she doesn't go into labor during the storm. But then again I want to meet this grandbaby really bad. In the shower this morning, I finally decided that if I get to -100#, then I'm going to look into the Panniculectomy procedure. I just have too darn much flabby belly fat. I swore I wouldn't have any more surgery, but I think this is going to be necessary. I don't want the full tummy tuck. I just want to be rid of this flap of flab. The Bobster says he supports me 100% though he's very complimentary about my looks right now. So we'll see. At least it's something to shoot for. I guess TracyinKS has abandoned us. sighhhhhh Everyone have a great day!! BBL..

Good evening, Violets.. I'm back from Ash Wednesday services and dinner out with the Bobster. We split 3 appetizers and ended up bringing one home. I got some more tuna and soy nuts and mandarin oranges. Am I in a rut or what?? Actually it sounds like all of us are in a rut. It must be the 2 year blues. Jane.. you have to take a day at a time.. a meal at a time. Do you keep a journal?? I've found it to be a great help as far as writing how I feel, what I ate and what my life is like on a day to day basis. I'm on my third journal since being banded and it's great to look back and see how far I've come. Kat.. redoing your ticker is like confession. It's good for the soul and now that you have said it, you own it and can deal with it. And see.. none of us chastised you because we're there too!! I'm going to finishe watching CSI:NY and then head to bed. Ethan comes first thing tomorrow morning. Everyone have a good evening.. sleep well.

Good afternoon, Violets.. Michelle, sheeeeesh, are you trying to edit my posts now?? I'm giving up the SLOTHFULNESS for Lent! You're supposed to be my clone.. and my brain buddy.. Now yer acting more like my brain fart!! It's SNOWING now.. after raining for a little bit. The snow is coming down like a shaken snow globe .. beautiful, but sheesh, do we really need more snow?? And that's just the tip of it. The bigger storm is coming in tomorrow. The birds are going wild at the feeder and I know what that means. No fasting for me today. We have 5 churches that go together on Lenten services. Tonight it is at Grace Lutheran. We have a soup supper at 6 and the service at 7. My choir meets at 5:30 now so they can make it to get the dregs of the soup before worship starts. The Bobster is meeting me there. I have to leave at 4:30 to get to church and set up for choir. Sure hope I get a good turn out tonight. Ethan is standing next to me and doing a thumbs up and thumbs down. He's looking at the icons and we're making the faces that he sees. Sooooooo cute!! Except when he expects me to shoot hearts out my eyeballs like the one guy is doing. Off to get something to drink. I've had tuna and ya da ya da ya da today so far.

Good Morning, Violets.. I woke up a little early this morning and have been on the computer checking out if we got paid by SS and my pension and it's always nice to see that in there especially when it comes in and I'm not even teaching anymore. wooo hooo. retirement is great! (wow, was that a long sentence or what??!!) Anyhoo... along with the good news was the Weather Bug chirping again. We have yet another winter storm watch for tomorrow night and Friday with freezing rain and more snow. And Kris due to deliver at any time. Oh well, I delivered my first son in the middle of a snow storm and had to travel 40 miles to the hospital. She'll probably be doing the same.. hopefully in the next day or two. Flute rehearsal this morning so I better get my slothful butt in gear. Yes, Michelle, I have turned slothful in terms of my exercising. That's what I hope to give up for Lent. I need to concentrate on getting in some exercise each and every day. The eating is under control.. it's just the exercise that's taken a back seat. Off to have some breakfast with the Bobster and read the paper before I head out for the day. Make it a good one everyone!!

Back from rehearsal. It went well and the people seemed to enjoy it even if it was only a rehearsal. Michelle.. nope.. not giving up the trucker talk, just toning it down for your delicate ears. I decided to give up sloth for Lent. That means I have to get my as....... errr butt in gear. I'm listening to the Pres. and then going to head to bed. Flute rehearsal tomorrow, hair appointment and then choir plus Ethan will be here from noon on. Busy day as usual. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

Well POOP... (see, I'm being nice, Michelle). I had a long post and thought it got on here, but I see it didn't. POOP. I'll try and recreate the post. Haydee, we are all here for support and we've all struggled and are still struggling. If you can't come here for support, where the heck (still nice, Michelle) CAN you go?? I'm stuck at 172 again.. and getting ummmm ticked (whew... almost blew it Michelle). But I'll keep on keeping on. The Bobster and I are going to do the 5 day test again March 1st. He said it is easier if we do it together. I have a roast in the pressure cooker for dinner. I had tuna/soy nuts/oranges for breakfast and lunch. I bet you knew that. I bought some Atkins Endulge bars and some Peanut Butter cups for a special lo carb, lo sugar treat. I'm trying to add a little variety in hopes it will keep me on track. I really am doing well as far as eating since January 2. My mind is in the right place, I just have to get my body to follow. As far as what I am called by my grandkids, I'm Gramma and Bob is Grampa. Ethan used to call me Mommom before he could say Gramma and Bob used to be Poppa. Ethan's other Grandmother is called Busha. He doesn't have another Grandfather. I finished 3 hours at the hospital this morning. I was busy the whole time. Tonight I have a rehearsal at the senior citizen's apartments. They can't often get out to our concerts and asked if we could practice there so some of the people could hear us. I think that's pretty cool. TracyinKS is hardly in here anymore. Sad, because she's the one that got us all started talking to each other. Gotta go peel some potatoes for the bobster. Everyone have a good evening. I'll check in before bed.
