Good Evening, Violets.. Just back from choir and Lenten services and seeing Grady. He was not a happy camper this evening. He certainly has a great set of lungs!! I'm running out of gas and am going to bed soon. Ethan comes again tomorrow and we're going to take him to see cousin Grady. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

113 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! -
Good afternoon, Violets.. I just got back from seeing Grady. He's so darn cute! He looks smaller to me today than yesterday, but then again he was all puffed up yesterday from the trauma of being born. And he has no choice except to be tall. His mom is 5'7" and his dad is 6'11". When Nathan holds Grady, I can't even see him, even with my heels on!!! I have to ask him to bend down.. lol Kris tried to nurse today and it's difficult to hold Grady because of the incision, but he was doing pretty good. The nurse who taught the breast feeding class is going to come in and help her too. Kris got really sick about 3 this morning when the anti-nausea meds wore off. They gave her some more and she was fine. She, Nathan and Grady were going for a stroll when I left today. I'll go back tonight after Lenten services tonight. Grandma Pat had to bring a different outfit to take Grady home in. The one Kris brought is way too small as are the newborn diapers she has. She's going to give them to the Baby Pantry here in town. The Bobster and I got Kris a Pandora bracelet with a baby buggy and a purple charm. She loved it. So now I can add to it on her birthday next month and on Mother's day. This is going to be fun!! Time to figure out lunch and see if Ethan will ever wake up from his nap. Have a great day!!!

Good Morning, Violets.. Well, I finally got some sleep last night, but it took a while before I could turn my mind off! This is our 5th grandchild, but it sure is different when it's your only daughter's child. You know what she's going through and you want to make it all perfect. We knew the baby was going to be big, just not THAT big. There was no way she could deliver it vaginally, especially with her pelvic area being narrower than normal. The pitocin worked, it just was working against nature. I'm so glad the doctor decided on a c section. Kris was sobbing thinking she had failed, but she felt so much better afterwards knowing how impossible it would have been otherwise. Grady nursed last night and was just looking around all the time at all of us. I imagine it was a pretty scary time for him, but he settled right into his mommy's arms and that was just a beautiful miracle. Now on to today and back to reality!! Ethan comes this morning. We haven't had him since last Thursday so I'm anxious for some hugs and kisses. I'll go and visit Kris and Grady this morning and then Bob will go this afternoon. We have Lenten services at our church tonight so I'll stay long enough to direct the choir in their anthem and then cut out so I can say good night to Grady. I did good on the pouch test till we got home last night and then I blew it on some crackers, peanut butter and jelly and a couple of handfuls of wheat thins. Back on track today. I'm going to go have my breakfast and wait for Ethan. Everyone have a great day!!

Second drive by baby posting... We're home for an hour to take care of dogs, then will be going back and staying until the baby is born. Laura.. the Pitocin worked fine.. too fine. She was having triple contractions and decided it was time for the epidural. DO NOT pass that up!! She went from crying during the heavy contractions, to being extremely comfortable and able to relax. They cut back on the pitocin and will increase it if the contractions don't continue to accelerate. She's still at 3 cm, 90% effaced. It's just waiting and waiting now! I'll text or post after the baby comes. No more drive by postings.. lol

Drive by posting/baby news... Pitocin started at 6 a.m. Nothing happening yet.. contractions actually slowing down the more pitocin they give. WTH?? They are doing contortions right now to try and move the baby from sunny side up to face down to make it an easier delivery. The Bobster and I left and went to the jewelry store to get Kris a Pandora bracelet with a baby charm and a purple stone charm. Then home for a little lunch (pumpkin, sausage soup.. awesome!!) and then to Subway to pick up a sandwich for Nathan. Back to the hospital to wait and wait some more. Will check in via text or in here.

114 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! -
Good Evening, Violets... Just back from the hospital. Kris's contractions are about 20 minutes apart, but not very strong yet. Sooooo she might not need the pitocin in the morning and hopefully the new Barden Baby will be born tomorrow some time. They are going to call me when they need me. I'm only a few blocks from the hospital. Nathan is spending the night there and so is the photographer. Nathan's best friend's dad is a photographer and he took pics of their wedding and now of their exciting new adventure. I'm taking my camera and Flip video camera too. I'm heading to bed early so I can TRY and get some sleep before I head to the hospital. Everyone have a good evening.. sleep well. TracyinKS.. have a great trip! Enjoy Florida.. I hope the weather is perfect for you. Terry, it might be premature, but I think we should seriously consider cancelling the house and looking at something less expensive for those of us that can go. Any ideas??

Nathan thought the umbilical cord probaby got pinched by the baby's gymnastics. Out the door... talk at ya later!!

Good evening, Violets.. First of all.... Sad..yes, MAD???? Nevah!!! Life is way too short to be mad about something you have no control over! I'm in no matter what.. just gimme a bed and a place to swim and I'm a happy camper. Oh and some food occasionally would be nice too. I'm not into drinks so that solves that problem. I'll have enough to do making sure Meeeechelle behaves. BABY UPDATE***BABY UPDATE*** Kris went for her regular doctor appointment today and came here sobbing afterwards. While on the monitor the baby made a big movement and it's heartrate went way down. It came up again, but Kris couldn't get anyone to come and look. She rang the bell and finally knocked on the door trying to get someone to come in and check out the monitor. The midwife came in and Kris told her she didn't like the looks of what she saw on the tape. The midwife looked and said she needed to go to OB and get hooked up to the monitor there. Kris was sobbing when she came home sure that something was wrong with the baby. I tried to calm her down and drove her to the hospital.. just a few blocks away. They hooked her up and everything is fine. The baby's heartrate is strong and he/she is moving around. She's having small contractions. They did an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok. We left after the ultrasound and waited for her call to see if she would be sent home or what. Turns out they are keeping her overnight and will start her on Pitocin tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. soooooooo if we don't have a baby tonight we WILL have one tomorrow or early Wednesday morning! Woooo hoooooooooo!!! We're going over to the hospital at 7 to spend a little time with her until Nathan can get back over. He had to go home and get her suitcase, his suitcase and the baby's suitcase. She didn't bring any of that stuff with her. I'll check in here tonight before I head to bed. Everyone have a good evening...

Truth is, the Bobster's income is tied to the market..not mine and with me getting social security this July, I'm not as concerned as I would be if that wasn't coming in. And yep.. I am determined to go. PamELA.. don't give up on that ticket yet!! We're sitting here waiting for Kris to stop by after her doctor's appointment. I don't even know what time it is cause I didn't call her today. I'm trying to not be nagging, but it's killing me!!
-
You forgot the hot tub!! We'll need it cause the snow might not be gone by June. Though I hear the east coast is getting pounded today. It's bright ,sunshiny here today. A whopping 6 degrees too!
-
Ummmmmm you sent out a healing email today?? BTW... you and I are roomies for this coming trip, right?? It's a good thing both of us are determined to go. We might end up entertaining ourselves and sharing Carson.

This too is "me" time. If we can't do the house, what's wrong with a hotel with a pool? There are lots listed in Huntsville. The house is beautiful and I'd love to experience that, but the most important part is just being together, right??
-
I don't have my ticket yet, but will try and get it this month. I plan on being there wherever "there" turns out to be. Can we cancel the house if we need to and try and figure something else out if it becomes necessary????
-
Good Morning, Violets.. Well, no baby news yet. I haven't called today and won't. I'm sure she'll stop by after the doctor's appointment and let me know what happened there. Other than that I just wait... and wait........... and wait. Michelle.. YES, The Girls Next Door. I watch that all the time. I'm a tabloid junkie so I have to get my celebrity fix. I also watched the Brett Michael's show last night, whatever Rock of Love is now called. That was just a train wreck!! But I don't watch the Batchelor or BB or Survivor, just the celebrity ones. SuzyT.. we have had thundersnows here on occasion. They were predicted for Thursday night, but we just got the freezing rain and just a few flakes of snow. I didn't go anywhere in my car until Saturday and getting the ice off of it was a real chore. It's -4 degrees here right now. Bitterly cold, but no new snow and it's March sooooooo maybe, just maybe spring might be around the..........block? TracyK..I just hate it when my car makes noises. It used to really bother me when I had to make the 62 mile trip to work. Nothing like being stranded 62 miles away! Hope you get it figured out without having to make a big dent in your pocketbook. Today starts the pouch test so I'm off to figure out what to have for breakfast. I'm thinking some soup at hand. I'll check back in later today.. Everyone make it a good one!

Good evening, Violets. We're back and we're stocked up with soup ingredients. I'm making the pumpkin/sausage soup tomorrow and then the ham/cheese soup after that. Bob's going to do a Slimfast for breakfast and then the soup the rest of the day. I'll do my soup at hand or bouillon for breakfast and the soup the rest of the day and my Ocean Spray water. If I can lose 10# before we leave for Hawaii, I'll be beyond thrilled. That's what I'm shooting for. We'll see. I'm going to watch The Girls Next Door at 10 and then head to bed. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.
-
Yup...it's pouch test time again. I just got done making my shopping list and we'll go out in a few to get everything. I really love the soup, so it's not a sacrifice to do the test. Actually it's more for the bobster than for me, but I know I'll benefit from it too. Bob called and talked to Nathan this evening. No movement on the baby front. She has a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so we'll see what happens after that. I really was hoping for today, but I guess that's not going to happen. I had a nice, long nap though so I'm ready for anything now.. Off to go shopping.. will check in later.

Good evening, Violets. Up from my nap and wondering if this site will let me post. This is a test..
