Good evening, Violets.. It's been a very quiet day here today. No Grady, but then I forgot his doctor's appointment is in a town closer to Kris and not here in Alpena. So I don't know when I'll get to see him next. The dogs are groomed and look so cute. I'm off to my New Day Singer's rehearsal. Last one before our concert Friday. TracyK.. I commented on your blog. You hang in there, woman!!! We're all in the same boat. Everyone have a great evening... Catch ya later...

Tracy, you know how I feel. I've been at a plateau for months now.. almost a year actually. I gained 13# and lost the 13#, but nothing since. The lady that got me onto lapband info and had hers done a few weeks after me has lost 115#!!! I've lost 60# and I think that's great until I think about her and then I get discouraged. And then when I think it's been 2 years and that's only 30# a year!! BUT.. we are all different. I'm not her and you're not me. You need to take care of you and not worry about the scale or how everyone else is doing. Get rid of the things that are hurting you. concentrate on protein. Cheese, meat, yogurt. Don't make cookies if you can't resist them. Don't buy the ice cream. Let Frank take Macy out if they need it. But YOU need to take care of YOU! YOU are the most important part of the lap band journey. Do you know how awesome ALL of us would be doing if we were close enough to exercise together, call for someone to spend time with us when temptation calls, just be near each other???? But we're not and we really have to be true to ourselves. We have no one to answer to but ourselves. So keep on keeping on. Don't let it get you down. Just like an alcoholic, it's one day at a time, one meal at a time. Love ya!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. I'm back from my hospital shift, luncheon and taking the dogs to the groomers. It sure is quiet around here without the dogs and Ethan. Nothing on my agenda for the rest of the day except picking up the dogs in a couple of hours and then rehearsal tonight for a couple of hours. We are under a high wind advisory for tonight and tomorrow morning. They are calling for gust of 50-60 mph. Batten down the hatches!! It was raining this morning with a little snow mixed in. I hope the roads don't get bad before I have to leave tonight. TracyinKS posted on Facebook that she had been in an accident. "Battle of the fords..... my f-150 crew cab vs a Mustang.... rain and careless young driver....... don't worry I had a dukes of hazzard moment and landed in a bed of soft grass... I'm all right.. my truck not so much....... but better than the stang........ could of been a lot worse....... upside is the police officer complimented me by saying that I was a "hellofa" driver." PamELa.. got your card in the mail today. Thank you soooo much!! I'm going to give the gift card to Kristin today... hopefully she'll come over after Grady's doctor's appointment. I haven't seen the little squirt since Saturday and I'm having Grady withdrawal pains!!

Good morning, Violet.. Busy day today. I'm pretending to be Michelle. Volunteer shift at the hospital, PMS luncheon, dogs to the groomers, singing rehearsal. I'm finishing up my oatmeal and then will be on my way. Everyone have a great day!! Terry.. if you mean Wasa....yup, she's still around. If you don't mean her.... someone else will have to figure it out.. TracyinKS... you gonna apply to be a stunt driver now?? Hope you're ok this morning!!!

Soooooooo, no calls from jealous Violets then, eh??

Good morning again, Violets. Ethan is playing golf on the Wii and I'm just getting away from my new addiction.. the word challenge on Facebook. I keep saying only one more game and then I'll quit.. and then I keep going. I just have to pry my hands away from the keyboard and move on. I haven't even dressed yet! Ethan is reading Woman's World magazine now. lol I'm teaching him well. Bob didn't wake up until 9 and now has to go snowblow the drive. Luckily Joe didn't pull his car into the drive so he didn't smush down the snow. Michelle.. we have 18 days before Hawaii!! We can't wait!! It's very pretty out again with all the fresh, white snow, but I know what's underneath and it's supposed to get up to 40 tomorrow with rain. The fun never ends in Northern Michigan!! It's sure nice sitting here in the living room with the WoodWick candle burning next to me making that crackling fire sound and Ethan close by. I love not having to sit out in the other room with the desktop pc and having to come in every few minutes to check on Ethan. Time for me to get my butt in gear and get dressed and hair fixed. TracyinKS... how was the weather in Florida??? TracyK... hope you feel better after a little nap. I'm sooooooooooooo glad I don't have to worry about TOM anymore. That's one of the perks of getting old!

Good Morning, Violets.. We got dumped on by Mother Nature again last night. All schools in the area are closed. It's the 11th snow day for my former school, but they have days built in so they still have 1.5 days available to them before they have to start making up. I think Alpena schools will have to make up days in June. Not a good thing. Nothing on my agenda today except babysitting and Community Chorus tonight. I bought some WW candies yesterday and have been rationing them out. They are sooooooo good and are my little guiltless treat. Not Cadbury Mini-eggs, but the next best thing. I just looked out the window and see that they have plowed our road, so of course there is a mountain of snow at the end of our driveway. Bob is going to have to get busy this morning and do the snowblowing. I'm off to fix some breakfast. Everyone have a great day!

108 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! -
Good Evening, Violets.. Long rehearsal today, but our concert is Friday and we have only one more rehearsal on Tuesday before the big day. Then hopefully I get a week off before it starts all over again. Church was very boring this morning. The sermon was a mess and the only good thing about the service was the choir. I don't know what I'm going to do if things don't improve. We are under a winter storm warning for tonight. 4-8 inches of heavy, wet snow with thunder! Life in northern Michigan is certainly interesting. Ethan comes over tomorrow for the day and I have Community Chorus in the evening. Yes, Suzie, I saw the recipe for the jello. Thanks! I finished the last of the ham and cheese soup for supper today. I bought Kris some Cadbury mini-eggs before she went into labor. One day when I was visiting in her room and she was in the bathroom and Nathan was walking the hall, I walked over to the bag of eggs, opened the bag................... thought of my Violets and left them alone. You all are my motivation. Does that surprise you??? Even when you are having a rough time, you still help me to stick with the program. YIKES... I'm watching half ton Mom on TLC. Soooo sad. I'm going to have my 2nd liter of water and watch this show and then Desparate Housewives. Everyone have a great evening. Sleep well!!
-
Good Morning, Violets.. Nope, not up as early as Michelle, but early enough for a Sunday and of course with the time change it's still dark out. Jetta, the garage dog, wanted out this morning at 2 a.m. so I got up and let her out and then went back to bed after putting her in the garage. She usually sleeps in our bedrooom at night, but it was warm enough in the garage with her heated bed so I put her there when she was done. I woke up at 7 and got on the computer and the Weather Bug was chirping. We are under yet another winter weather advisory for 2-6 inches of heavy snow and some sleet. I hope it doesn't start until I'm home from my rehearsal this afternoon. I hope Grady had a good night last night. He sure was perfect when he was here for a couple of hours last night. Bob is preaching at the Presbyterian church today and I'll be at our church directing the choir. Wish I could be with him. I'll be stuck listening to another boring sermon from our pastor. yuck. I'm off to find some breakfast. Everyone have a great day!!

109 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! -
Good evening, Violets.. I just finished holding Grady for almost an hour. I just stared at him. He's so beautiful and such a good baby. Kris was in much better spirits. She is getting a breast pump on Monday and is very ok if she has to pump the milk to give to him in a bottle. She nursed while she was here and she and he did fine so we'll see what happens. I made up a cute little birth announcement card for her and she loved it. It was like the baby shower invitation, same graphics, but had Grady's picture and the newspaper wording of his birth. I got a few outfits for him and she liked them all. I think I need to stop shopping for awhile before I run out of money! I'm going to finish watching the Pistons and then am headed to bed. We lose an hour's sleep tonight and I have a 3 hour singing rehearsal tomorrow afternoon, so I need all the sleep I can get! Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well!!
-
I'm also raising my hand very, very high and jumping up and down for a Violet Cruise! Cruise prices now are the best they have ever been. There are some great deals out there. And you can certainly book a year in advance. Spouses and families would be included on a cruise, I'm guessing. Something to think about!! Sheesh, we haven't even done the one for this year and we're already talking about the next one. That's my Violets!!!

Good Morning, Violets.. I got to sleep in until 9 this morning!! I loved Saturdays when I was teaching and I still love them. Kris, Nathan and Grady are coming over sometime today. I'm anxious to hear how the night went. I'll definitely let her know what the Violet Aunties are advising. I'm sure she'll be ok. She's always been hyper and negative like her dad. My motto is what is meant to be, will be. I wish she had more of that attitude. Tracyk... I just finished the pouch test. I still have ham and cheese soup left and will have that today for lunch. I can feel restriction again. I can't eat more than 1 cup at a time so that's a good thing. I haven't weighed myself...will do that tomorrow. But I haven't been able to keep up the exercise because of everything that went on this past week. I need to hit that again now that everything is kinda under control. My house is clean and my laundry is done so I'm going to just veg out today and relax. Ethan was here from noon til 7:30 and that's a pretty full day for this old lady. Weather here is dreary. Snow is melting and everything is wet and dirty looking. Daylight savings time tomorrow so we lose an hour. I wonder how many at church will remember that?? I looked at the resort too that Haydee is going to. Oh my... wouldn't that be a nice place for a Violet get together???? Off to shower and get dressed for the day. Anyone else find that "give feedback" thumb thingy in the corner annoying????? Make it a good one today, ladies.

Good evening, Violets. Just finished watching the Pistons win their 4th straight. The Bobster is on his way back from a meeting and should be home in about an hour. Ethan didn't leave until 7:30 and he was completely hyper by that time without a nap today. He was shouting the words to the Brown Bear book right in my ear!! At least I can sleep in tomorrow and have the day off. Kristin is frustrated today. Grady is not nursing well. He keeps putting his fingers in his mouth instead of latching on to her. I just told her to relax and don't stress out because that will affect Grady too. She will talk to the nurse who specializes in breast feeding when she takes Grady in for his check up on Tuesday. She's disappointed because of the C-section and now the nursing. Time to surf the net a bit while I wait for Bob. Everyone have a good evening and a great weekend. Happy Birthday to Susanne!!! Hope she feels better.

Good morning again, Violets. I'm back from the sale. I got a couple of outfits for Grady and a Hawaiian shirt for the Bobster. Not a bad trip. I was really looking for some long sleeved onsies, but couldn't find any in town. I got online and found some so I ordered 3 to be sent to Kris. I also got the womb sound crib light. Ethan had one and Jen said it was wonderful. Grady had a rough night. Kris said he just wanted to be held. Didn't want to lay in the bassinet, didn't want to be in bed with them, just wanted the skin on skin feel. She only got an hour of sleep last night, but will take a long nap today while Nathan is in charge. He doesn't go back to work until Thursday so that will help. They are coming into town tomorrow to show Grady to his great grandparents. It will be his first family outing. Ethan will be here soon, so I better get some things picked up just before he gets them all over the house again!! lol

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up, fed and now getting ready to head out to a sale at Penney's. Guess what I'll be buying..lol Now that we know it's a boy I can go on a spree. I'm going to wait a little while before I call Kris and see how her first night went. She was feeling and looking really well last night when she left the hospital. I just hope that lasts too. She's a strong girl and she'd been there since Monday so she was VERY anxious to get back to her house and her pets. Ethan comes at noon today so I just have a few hours to get my shopping done. Everyone have a great day!! BBL...

Good evening, Violets.. Well, Grady is home with his mommy and daddy now. They were released at 7:30 this evening. He slept in my arms for about 15 minutes before they left. Now I won't see him until Tuesday. I hope everything goes well for Kris tonight. She is doing amazing well as far as her recovery from the C-section. She's up and walking around with minimal pain. Of course she is on pain meds, but will be cutting back on those gradually over the next few days. Ethan comes at noon tomorrow so that means I can sleep in tomorrow morning. Bob is going to a meeting 3 hours away for the afternoon and evening. I made the ham and cheese soup and it was very yummy, but Bob says he likes the pumpkin/sausage soup better so I guess I'll be making that again too. I'm sitting in the living room with my laptop on my lap and the Bobster is asleep on the couch with two yorkies sleeping on him and the garage dog is sleeping on the other couch. Very quiet in here after the hustle and bustle of Ethan being here all day. Guess it's time for me to head to bed. Everyone have a great evening. Sleep well! TracyK.. where are you?? Hope you're feeling ok.

Where is everybody???? Jane emailed that she couldn't get on the site. Anyone else having problems?? I took Ethan up to see his cousin today. He was not impressed. But he did like seeing Aunt Krissy and Uncle Nathan. Grady was sleeping soundly when I was there. I got to hold him for a long time. They are scheduled to go home this evening. They are anxious to get back to their own house and get settled in. Kris slept from midnight to 5 this morning and I told her that was probably the last good night's sleep she'll have in a longgggggggggg time! Nathan is home to help her until next Wednesday. I plan on taking supper out Thursday and Friday next week. Ethan want to plan games on the computer so I better stop typing for now. I haven't been doing well on the exercise, Kat. I've been too busy with Ethan and then sitting and waiting for Grady to arrive. I hope to get back in the groove next week. BBL...

Good Morning, Violets.. It's a beautiful day here.. 26 degrees and the sun is shining. Ethan is here and we're going to go up and see cousin Grady in a little while. He's seen pictures and I'm anxious to see what he thinks of a real little baby. Just finished breakfast. Ethan likes tuna with soy nuts too. He's his Gramma's boy! Nothing on the agenda today as far as meetings and rehearsals. The choir did very well last night at Lenten services. We don't host the services again until the 25th. I made potato sausage soup to take and by the time choir rehearsal was over and we could get upstairs to eat, my soup was gone. Nothing else looked good to me so I skipped dinner until we got home from the hospital and then I had my normal tuna/soy nuts. Actually, that's all I had for food yesterday all day!! Three meals of tuna/soy nuts. I did have some cashews, but the best part was I did not take even one Cadbury mini egg that Kris had in her room. I resisted and respected the pouch!! woooo hooooo!! I'm making the ham/cheese soup for supper tonight. Ethan is calling me to read, so I better get back to business. Everyone have a great day!!
