42 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! -
Good evening, Violets.. I had Kdg. round up today and have been on the go since 5:30 this morning. Now I know why I retired. It was fun though, seeing all my former colleagues and some students. I go back tomorrow for another round. The only bad part is the 120 round trip miles by myself. Suzie.. our pool is up to 78 degrees tonight. I should be swimming on Saturday. Can't wait!!! TracyinKS... good for you on your ice cream free days!! I had a schwans ice cream sundae cone tonight. It was an ice cream kinda day for me. But none tomorrow. I'm rationing myself. I couldn't go triking today because the wind was sooooooo strong, I probably would have tipped over!! I'm going to watch CSI and then head to bed. I'm not used to these super early mornings. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well!

Good morning, Violets.. Just a quick note.. I leave in a half hour for my former school an hour away to help them with Kindergarten Round Up. It's a way for me to catch up on my colleagues and my former students since it's a K-12 school all in one building. Everyone have a great day. Be good to yourselves! Catch you this evening..

Good morning, Violets. Just back from an hour bike ride. It was soooooooo beautiful along the river and through some sub divisions with huge homes. I really love my terrratrike. It is gentle on my back, my butt and my knees. I wish I could do that ride every morning at 10 -11, but I usually have Ethan or some rehearsal or a hospital shift. Our gas heater is fired up and warming up the pool. Hope they come with a new solar cover today. Otherwise the heat will be wasted at night when it gets down to freezing. Suzie.. hope we can be in the pool the same time you are!! Terry.. having a bi-polar son, I know some of what you're going through. But ours didn't exhibit the behavior your son has. Each one is manifested differently and my prayers are with you and your family. Suzie.. I would be embarrassed to ask anyone what they weighed to begin with if they had weight loss surgery, or even just lost a lot of weight on their own. That's just rude. I don't mind sharing with others how much weight I've lost, but to say what my highest weight was... nope.. not gonna do it. None of their business! Ethan comes in a half hour and the sun just disappeared. We'll still go out in the backyard for awhile. He loves it out there with the dogs and his bike that he pushes instead of rides.. lol Everyone have a good afternoon! TracyK.. how was the workout?? TracyinKS and Jenn... glad to have you back!!!!! You both were missed. A~ LOT!

Sooooooooooooooo yer saying that Tracy's puter is loaded with porn, eh?? Only the minister's wife would pick up on that..:tt2: Off to bed.. pool is open and we'll fire up the heater tomorrow. Hopefully next week, I'll be swimming even when it's freezing out!!! Everyone sleep well!!

44 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! -
Good afternoon, Violets.. It's nice to have all the Violets back where they belong! I had a busy morning so didn't get a chance to post until now. I had my hospital shift an hour earlier than normal cause my PMS group had our monthly luncheon today. Then I went to pick up a basket of goodies I won as a doorprize. They came to open up our pool and now we have to get a new cover and get a shutoff valve put on the gas heater. My car is in the shop for new brakes. Can we say "chi-ching, chi-ching"? I'm going to trikke the bike path today with Bob and then I have rehearsal tonight. Terry... thinking about you and Evan and praying for you today. I had my tuna/soy nuts/oranges for breakfast and a nice salad with romaine, apples, walnuts, cheese and a vinaigrette dressing. Very yummy. I'm fixing crab cakes for supper. Not sure what we'll have with them yet. The Bobster just got back home so I need to go get the bike out and get going. Everyone have a great afternoon. Be good to yourselves.

45 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! -
Good evening, Violets.. All done with everything for today. Terry... keeping you and Evan in my prayers. Tracy... hope your nose is better today.. I didn't get to go trikking because Jen didn't come until 4:30 and I had to get supper on the table before rehearsal, so no time. I will have time tomorrow afternoon, so am bound and determined to get my trikking done then. I'm going to watch CSI:Miami and then head to bed. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

Will do, sweetie.

Tracy.. I forgot to tell you, the James Patterson book I'm reading is his new one.. 8th Confession. It's another in the Women's Murder Club series.

Good morning, Violets.. I have the little runaway with me today. Since he doesn't talk much, I can't ask about his "adventure", but at least he's safe and sound with Gramma and Grampa today. I heard from all my kiddos yesterday. We had a nice brunch with Kris and Nathan yesterday. I got a very pretty picture frame with a picture of a smiling Grady in it. I got a hanging plant and beautiful card from Joe and Jen and a call from my other two sons. Today is a very pretty day, though cold. It's 36 degrees out right now. We are going to work in the back yard raking and mowing. Everything made it though the freeze last night. I'm hoping it warms up enough so I can go trikking this afternoon. Kris, Bob and I have started a weight challenge today. We're going to see who can lose the most weight in a month. If Kris or I win, we get a charm for our pandora bracelets, if Bob wins he gets a box of golf balls. I need to kick up the exercise because the food is under control. Off to get dressed for the day. Everyone make it a good one. Be good to yourselves.

Good Morning, Violets.. Couldn't sleep well last night. I was up from 2:30 -4 writing a report and then piddling around on Facebook. So of course now at 7:30 I'm tired, but at least I can take a nap this afternoon. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you moms, grammas and especially to Laura, our new mom. We're going out to lunch after church with Kris, Nathan and Grady. Terry.. glad you had a good time yesterday. Everything is greening up here too, but the big difference is we are under a freeze warning for tonight. I'll have to bring my new hanging plant in. My mother always loved lobelia so I got a plant that had that and geraniums in it. So pretty. Time to go take my shower and get dressed for church. The ladies are singing an anthem without the guys today and I'm playing flute during offertory so have to get there early and get everything set up. Have a great day and be good to yourselves.

47 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! :tt2: -
Good evening, Violets.. Wow.. pretty quiet in here today. Must be a TGIF. Just got home from the Mother/Daughter gig. I'm pretty pooped and am going to head to bed and finish reading my new James Patterson book. Everyone have a good night and be good to yourselves.

Good afternoon, Violets.. Support group done and health screening done. Now on to the singing gig tonight. Ethan was found two blocks from the day care and I found out when Joe called me after the daycare had called him. We didn't know he had been found until just before I got to the daycare. The police car was out front and Jen called to tell me she was holding her baby in her arms. Joe was at a job a couple of hours away so he suffered the most emotionally. And thank God there were good samaritans around to take care of Ethan until police arrived. Ethan's story was on the local news and the news in Traverse City which is about 2.5 hours away. I drove by the daycare today just to see how far he got and it was a decent hike for a little guy all alone. I'm just so thankful that the story has a happy ending.
-
Thanks, Suzie... I'm sure they will shut the daycare down. Just no excuse for not supervising little ones outside. I'm up early and getting ready to head to lap band support group meeting and then to a health screening. Should be interesting. I've never done the screening before and did it so that Bob would go with me and have his done too, but then he is out of town until tonight so it's just me. It's a dreary day today and looks like it's going to rain. I was hoping to trikke this afternoon. Will have to wait and see. Our singing group is going to sing for a Mother/daughter banquet tonight so that will be my evening. Off to take a shower and get ready for the day. Everyone have a good one.

48 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! :glare: -
Well, it's been an interesting day here, Violets.. Police Foil Baby's Day Out May 8, 2009 - 05:20 p.m. EST Officers from the Alpena Police Department were able to reunite a mother with her wandering toddler Friday afternoon. Officers arrived on the corner of Walnut Street and Miller Street in Alpena shortly after 2:00 PM following a report of a young child. walking alone down the middle of the street. Three people were able to corral the child and were waiting with the 3 year-old for police. While on the scene, officers were advised that a nearby daycare center was missing a child. When the police went to the Miller Street center, they found that a gate there was only held shut by two cement blocks, as the latch on the gate was broken. The three-year-old boy was soon reunited with his mother, who was at work at the time of her son’s escape. The matter has been turned over to the Michigan Department of Human Services. Yup.. the little guy on the loose was Ethan!!! Needless to say he will NOT be going back to that daycare. Probably nobody will after they pull their license. I got a frantic call and raced over to the daycare center. By the time I got there the police had Ethan and Jen was there and sobbing hysterically. When I talked to Joe and said "what was that little guy thinking"? Joe said I know exactly what he was thinking.. he was on his way to Grandma's house. He knows how to get from his house to mine when he rides with Joe in the morning and he was going to just walk there. I can't tell you how lucky we are that some people stopped and sat with him until the police arrived. We don't even know who they were. Jen is going to write a thank you and put it in the paper. Sooooooooooooooo, it's been one heck of a day around here. The fact that they had 3 kids in the backyard of the daycare and NO adult supervision is criminal. I shudder to think of all the things that could have happened to that little guy. Thank God he's safe and sound. I'm going to watch the 11 p.m. news since I was told it was on the 6:00 program. I got my Grady fix today for a couple of house while his mom went to a Princess party and his daddy golfed. Now it's just me again and a quiet evening. Everyone sleep well.
-
Good for you, Laura!!!! Get your rest and be glad you have a mom nearby that's willing to do that for you. How neat!!

Good morning, Violets.. It's a BEEEEEEuteefull day here today. 55 degrees, sun shining, supposed to get to 70 and I have the whole day to myself. Yes, Terry, I have a whole closet full of clothes, but I did find a nice blouse and had a 15% off coupon at Penneys so I came home with one new thing. I tried on an Alfred Dunner outfit that was on sale and was happy to get into the XL top and size 12 pants, but didn't buy it. It was just fun to try it on. I'm going to work in the backyard today, read my tabloids, go trikking and generally relax and enjoy myself. This doesn't happen very often!! Tomorrow is a busy day again and of course Sunday we'll be going out to brunch with Kris and her in laws. Kris came by yesterday and walked in the door, handed me Grady and said.... "take him"! Apparently he's been really fussy the last couple of days. I told her she should start thinking about adding cereal. He's a big boy and needs a little more in his tummy to keep him satisfied for longer. She said she'd talk to Nathan about it. I know my 10.6# baby (Joe) started cereal early and it made a world of difference. Terry.. the pics are beautiful!! Strap on a Depends and enjoy!!! Dr. PamELa... what the countdown for the end of school?? I go in next week for Kindergarten Round Up Thursday and Friday. It will be fun seeing my former students and colleagues. Their end of the year breakfast is June 5 and I'll go to that too. Well, I better get off here and get some things done that are on my to do list for the day. Everyone make it a good one. Tracy.. I'm PROUD of you!!! (and don't weigh.. it's just numbers... it's more important how you feel)
