103 days till Violet Baby Sophia is due!!!
-
Good evening, Violets.. Grady is here for a bit and so far we have had a sucker, a cookie and half an apple. One out of three isn't bad. Pam... as long as there is some singing at church, I'm happy. Just finished supper and now for some playtime with Grady while Kris finishes Zumba..

Good morning, Violets.. Had therapy this morning and we got the knee to bend to 123.. that's a record for me. Only 3 more therapy sessions.. one before I go and 2 when I get back. I will be glad to have my days to myself again, but unfortunately that will make me miss Ethan more. Guess I'll have to make some more trips to see Grady during the week. I started packing yesterday and am mostly done. PamELa... is there music at your church??? I really would like to go with you on Sunday, if you're going. Got the pool cleaned out today and Bob turned off the furnace, pump and drained it. Called the pool place to come out this week and close it up for us. Now it's hot tub for the rest of the season. Hey.. I will need a "bender" while I'm there.... NO, not what you're thinking!! When we're in the hot tub, I'll need someone to help me bend and stretch my knee. Any nurse/Physical Therapist wanna be's in the group?? Off to head to the bank and turn in the money from the change jar so I can send it to Joe. Every little bit helps... Everyone have a great day. We'll be seeing each other soon!!!

AND don't forget they will all be independently wealthy by the time they leave the casino! Not to worry, PamELa... they aren't the pick up type. Now Janie and I on the other hand.... Been a rough weekend here. We are both so worried about Joe and family. We are funneling money to them to keep them above water until he can get another job. He interviewed at a grocery store and will know about that this week, plus there is another possibility in the oil fields, but it would take 6 weeks of training in Oklahoma. I just hate not knowing and being so far away from him. I keep telling him I love him and it will all turn out ok, but I'm not even sure of it doing that. I'm praying really, really hard that God will guide him to the best job possible for him and his family. I just hope it happens soon. Much as I have looked forward to this get away, it's going to be tough being away from Bob when we're both feeling so helpless. I'll do my best not to bring everybody down and maybe, just maybe there will be good news before the end of the week. At least you guys will definitely take my mind off of things while I'm there. We got the dog sitter all advised of our schedule and I'll pack tomorrow and head to the bank on Wednesday morning to draw out some "lunch money". We'll leave here about 2 Wednesday and be in Detroit by 8. I must remember my cane. I don't use it much, but I'm guessing it might come in handy with all the walking we're going to do! And yes, Jane... I still take the percocet, though only one tablet once or twice a day now. Hardly any pain at all anymore, just lots of swelling, but doc says that will take months before that goes away. Off to do some house cleaning. We had the grandkids over yesterday and had a great time swimming. Sure makes me miss Ethan though.. sighhhhhhhh

Hey Violets.. I need some prayers sent for our son Joe. He had a panic attack 80 feet up on the oil rig and they fired him on the spot. Said they couldn't risk him hurting himself or others so no second chance. This was his dream job with good salary and benefits. Now he is back to square one in the job hunt and they have already signed a lease on a house he's not going to be able to afford. It is so hard being so far away and not able to give him a hug and tell him it will be ok.

I won't name any names, but one of us older folks with a bionic knee is.

Good afternoon, Violets.. Just back from a meeting with the interim candidate for the church. I sure hope he's the one they pick. I was very impressed. Janie... I LOVE your new hair style!!:smile: As for sleeping arrangements... I'm good for the couch.. I slept on the couch here for weeks after the knee surgery. Not sure I could get up from the air bed!! :alien: One week from today I'll be a few hours from California. It's cold and rainy here today. I'm counting on great weather while we're there PamELa!!!! Off to find some lunch and then a short nap. I have a flute rehearsal at 2. Everyone have a great day!

Wow.. we're quiet Violets today!! I had therapy this morning and it went very well. Therapist said I should be done the end of the month. Wooo hoooooo!! After therapy I came home and changed and went to the Farmer's market with Kris and Grady. There was a local news reporter there and she took pictures of Grady eating a plum. Hopefully the picture will get in the local paper. After that we went out to lunch , then I came home and took a nice nap. I have choir in a little while. Bob is at work, but he'll be home in time for dinner together after choir. Our second candidate for interim minister will be here today and tomorrow. The staff will be meeting with him tomorrow morning. The first guy was disappointing. He showed up in a yucky tee shirt and sweat pants. He said he was on vacation when he got the call to come and interview with us. WHAT?? You can't stop somewhere and buy a shirt and pair of pants for an important interview??? He could have been the best as far as pastors go, but dang, I can't get past the appearance. Hopefully this next guy will know how to present himself. Off to get ready for choir.... Hope everyone is having a great day. One week from today at this time I'll be on my way to Detroit and then California!!! Can't wait!!!!!

Good morning, Violets.. brrrrrrrrrrrrr.. cold here this morning. 46 degrees. Doesn't look like a pool day in this neck of the woods. The Bobster is out doing his clergy thing and I'm home waiting to see if I'm going to the PMS luncheon. Not sure if many are going and I don't want to be stuck with just me and the wife of our former pastor. That would be very uncomfortable. I'm waiting to hear from one of the ladies and if she's going, I'll go. I had therapy yesterday and it's so nice not to be afraid of it anymore. I won't be able to do a lot when I'm with you guys but I think now I can at least keep up for awhile!!! I'm bringing my trusty cane with me. I need to find a hotel in the next few days. We'll go down Wednesday evening and my flight is Thursday. The airport is a 5 hour drive from here. They have a shuttle to the terminal which is good. Bob won't have to park and I won't have far to walk. I need to think about packing this weekend. It will be different going from this fall weather back to super summer!! Off to get dressed for the day. Everyone make it a good one!

Good evening, Violets.. Had a great day today. Therapy is actually enjoyable now. Progress is slow, but steady. I started back doing my volunteer shift at the hospital today. I needed to copy off 5 booklets for the nurses and each booklet was well over 200 pages, so after making up the education packets, I stood at the copy machine for almost 2 hours. My knee was throbbing by the time I got home. I iced it and took a long nap. Grady arrived at 5 and he'll be here until 8 while Kris does Zumba. He's playing on the computer with Grampa right now. They are wrapped up in a Sesame street learning game. Soooo cute!!! Not sure what we're having for supper except veggies. I have fresh swiss chard, corn, scalloped tomatoes and squash. Just not sure what meat we'll have. Guess I better head to the kitchen and figure that out! Gina... glad to see you back here. So sorry about your troubles with the band. Seems we are all going through these struggles. I have kept 50 of the 60# off, but I sure notice a difference with my band unfilled. All of us on here have passed the weight issue and are totally wrapped up in the friendship of this group. It's one of the best things I've received from the band!!! Everyone have a great evening!!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Lazy day today. We went to the Farmer's Market and I got some squash, apples, swiss chard and cabbage. Then the support group. Had some good discussion and then home for lunch and a nap. It's only 64 today and very cloudy and dreary so no pool time, but I'll be in the hot tub tonight stretching and bending my knee. The walking at Mackinaw yesterday sure made it sore and hard to get to sleep last night. I popped a percocet and finally drifted off. It's feeling better today. We are headed to a hobo dinner at the Presbyterian church in town. Should be interesting. Tomorrow the choir sings for the first time this season. Hopefully this guest pastor won't decide to preach for 45 minutes like the last one did!! It's supposed to warm up tomorrow so I hope to get in the pool and do some exercises. We're going to close it down when I head to California. At least we'll still have the hot tub so I can do my bending and stretching. I'll have to start working in the gardens in the next few weeks. Got to get all the art work in for the winter and cut back on the plants that need it. I have some to transplant as well. Off to dry some towels and then head to the dinner. Everyone have a good evening..

Therapy session this morning.. everything went well. Church ladies luncheon this afternoon. Only ladies missing were those who are still pissed about the pastor leaving. And they're the ones that lose! We had a great time. We're headed to Mackinaw City in an hour. 2 hour drive, some shopping and then dinner with Kris and Nathan before we come home. Hope everyone has a great day!!
